    Hello,

I am looking to switch to alltel and would like a phone that gets great reception in rural areas. I live in rural Idaho and often travel to other states. I currently have verizon, but all I get is "no service". Sould I get a phone with analog abillity?

    thanks a bunch

i don't know how much your looking to spend, but the lg ax8600 is said to be one of the better phones with reception. It's not too expensive and it's a great phone overall.

You know if size is not to much of a matter to you take a look at the Moto E815. I can guarentee you you will not have alot of reception problems that the others might. Also dont worry about analog it is going to be turned off in a few years.

The e815 is a great phone but it doesn't have AMPS. The w315 is a tri-mode phone and has both digital bands and analog. Depending on how rural you are, you might need a w315, but it is a very basic phone.

No camera, no MP3 player and a pretty cruddy screen, IMHO. It looks sort of like a PEBL but flatter and with an extendable antenna.

I'm pretty sure alltel has stopped selling the moto e815 now. An employee of alltel told me a few weeks ago that they had, and if you look at their site it isn't up their anymore

Yep. The E815 has reached End Of Life status. Distribution Centers don't have them anymore and aren't getting any more shipments of them, and CDF (ie, mail order) is now out as well. Retail outlets may still have them in their inventory, though, at least until they sell them all.
