I need a phone that meets three requirements:

    1. Send and receive calls.
    2. Be a flip-phone design.
    3. Allow me to load and use MP3s or WAV files as ring-tones.

Carrer is not critical. I am with Verizon but they do not have the custom ringtone option.

    Thanks. :)

The razr2 V9m I have with alltel will let you do all the above.

Verizon has about 20 phones that fulfill those requirements.

Your first condition will be hard to meet! lol :D just kidding.

In Sauk Co., WI, any mp3 phone on alltel should work as alltel phones aren't restricted or crippled in this regard like many Verizon phones. The flip-phone options are the moto razr2 v9m, Samsung Hue, LG Wave, LG AX8600, and even the Moto Razr even though it's not as mp3 focused as the other options. Alltel provides the needed software here off their website to get the mp3s from your computer to your phone: Jump Music. Once it's on your phone, just select the song you want as the ringtone.

I agree. Either AT&T (Cingular) or Alltel would have phones that don't have their file transfer options restricted.

I would mention T-Mobile, but their rural coverage is severely lacking, at least here in Virginia it is. If TMO has acceptable coverage for you then you may want to look at them as well.
