Cingular has unveiled a MySpace service for their handsets with a monthly subscription fee of $2.99. http://news.softpedia.com/news/MySpace-Will-Go-Mobile-on-Cingular-41859.shtml
Plus needing a data plan, they are looking to bring in even more money out of the younger generation. I already told my 2 older ones "No Way".
How can you deprive your kids of Myspace on the go? The problem is MySpace has become a epidemic, but I guess they realized that Helio wasn't doing it for them.
I just can't understand why should there be a subscription fee. That's obscene! Do you have to buy the program too? That's just not the way to get people to burn those kilobytes. I have unlimited messages and data and pay what I think the service is worth, not a penny more.
It's easy, They have to wait till they get home and at a computer. I don't let them use MediaNet/mMode since I can't afford it for each of them & I don't use it either right now. You don't have to buy any programs for MySpace, it's free but your right why pay for data and additional for being able to use MySpace as well.
They have to Generate New Ways of Making Additional Income, specially Rollover Minutes Does Not make you go Over your Minutes. What do you Do w/ 4,000 Reserve Minutes? For me 3G is Not even Needed, they won't be as Fast as my Cable Modem. $35 for 10 MB/s and for an additional $9.99 Cable will increase it to 30MB/s
I am an avid Myspace and Facebook user. But I think I'll just continue using Myspace on Opera. ~*Ash*~
Yeah, what do you do with all those rollover minutes? If you don't use them you loose them & Cingular still keeps your money. But at least they give you a year to try & use them for those emergency months of heavy talking. As for them generating addl. income, I guess they don't think people that use PPU SMS, will give them enough. As of right now, I do agree I don't see a need for any data usage, until it becomes affordable for those of us on tighter budgets.
