It looks like they added free nights to all plans. Basic Plus though, includes 300 minutes with free weekends, no free nights. Now, if someone were to switch to the new plan, just to get the free nights, would it lock them into a new contract (if one is off-contract now) or would the addition of a new phone cause a new contract to be entered into?
AFAIK, standard contract rules apply. All of these plans would require a one-year contract, but a new phone is generally a two-year or one-year contract depending on the price you pay.
Well I got myFaves today and WITHOUT a myFaves phone. I told customer care I had the new Samsung t509 (plum-looks black) and he believed me so they added the plan. I went online and added my 5 contacts and it looks like it worked!
Ok my question on this is if one of your 5 people call you then does it apply or is it only when you call them? Does this apply to the outbound and inbound calls to your 5 my-fave contacts??
AFAIK, the myfaves plan works just like Alltel's MyCircle, any voice based communication, inbound or outbound is covered.
I really doubt it, they haven't caught up with unlimited text yet. Plus they use the whole "we have the largest m2m community where you can talk to however million other customers for free"
True, but I'm still sure that there are things they will put in place to compete with MyFaves and MyCircle. One can only hope
Dude! I wish I had read this yesterday. :loony: I signed up for myfavs .. and fell for the new phone thing. oh well, I am happy with the new phones. So, what do you think of the plan? I had a family plan w/ 1000 min and was going over minutes for a few months in a row... the common places I was calling weren't on my family plan. I'm hoping this will cut down the minute usage.
Remember that mobile-to-mobile IS NOT included in your myFave family plan. If you want it, it's $9.99 more for ALL the lines on the family plan.
As it turns out we weren't using the Mobile to Mobile at all, due to poor reception in one of the family plan member's apt. We're investigating adding an external antenna to see if that will help. Thanks for the reminder though.
There is a new MyFaves plan: MyFaves FamilyTime $49.99 / 1000 Promotional Plan 2 phones 1000 shared Whenever Minutes This one doen't include unlimited nights & weekends (unless they are in your Faves)
That will probably allow you to free up a couple of your Faves because you can get more people called for free!
It is unlimited minutes for your favorite five numbers, whether they are coming in or going out. Remember, it is for the numbers, not necessarily the people. If you have Johnny's cell phone in your fave 5, any calls to/from his home phone would count as Whenever minutes unless it was a night or weekend. This is a cool deal!
I'm looking for people who have gotten the MyFaves plan. Are you loving it? Can you give us a testimonial about it?
I signed up for it.. and I love it. the best part I think is you can use landlines -yes there are still some people who have them. So, like if my sister calls me on her verizon phone - I can call her back on her landline (it's in my faves) and not use her minutes or mine. The drawbacks if you were using the tmobile-mobile to mobile service - that gets dropped, but you can get it as an 'add-on' for about $5.00/month. I recommend it to everyone I talk to. Also, you can only set your faves at the beginning of the month, but that would be a problem if the people you called frequently changed from month to month. I've used over 700 minutes on my fav plan in the last month - btw. Get it - it's worth it! :highclap:
I'm a new T-Mobile subscriber recently cancelling my Cingular account. I signed up for the MyFavs plan and so far it seems awesome! Its pretty flexible and now I'm rarely using the Whenever minutes. The hardest part is deciding which numbers to designate a Fav because it only applies to the phone number, not the person. I'm also having minor trouble with my ringtones. I bought a MegaTone and eventhough I set them up for my contacts and my MyFavs, the new ringtone doesnt work when any of MyFavs contacts call. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks
I have it, and I love it. I don't waste any minutes calling home or my family that's on Cingular still. Couldn't be happier.
Does anyone know if the my faves for families includes free calling to family members WITHOUT adding them to your faves? matt L
According to the plan details shown on T-Mobile's web site, it doesn't look like mobile to mobile calls are included. However, most of the plans include nights & weekends (except for the myFaves for Families 1000 minute plan for $59.99).
