    Yes I have held the 815. In fact I went to Verizon with the idea of trying one out based on the ranting on these boards. When they opened it up I couldn't believe how humongeous it was.

    It is not roughly the same size as the V60, which was about a half inch shorter. Take a look at the smaller, sleek, elegant phones Sprint has and you'll get an idea of what a feature packed cell phone can look like.

    Um...don't know how to tell you this, but it IS about the same size as the V60. I should know, because that's what I upgraded from (to the V710, which is almost identical to the E815), and I measured them both. The differences had to be measured in MILLIMETERS. And even then, it was negligable. Plus, the V710 is actually a little lighter on my belt, since the V60 had a metal case.

    And I've seen Sprint's selection. I see variations of the same Samsung phones available for VZW, and some ugly, kludgey Sanyos that are LARGER than the V710. What's to be impressed with?

    Critic, I can count on you to keep the comedy coming. Nice rant, Jim Rome would have been proud :D

    From Phonescoop:

    Dimensions for v60: 3.42" x 1.77" x 0.97"
    815: 3.71" x 1.95" x 1.01"

    Hardly the same size. In fact you can lay the v60 on top of the 815 and the 815 is a lot bigger. Open it up and it's almost 8 inches from top to bottom, way too big for a phone in this modern day and age.

    BTW, the phone I'm using a sleek Samsung is a half inch shorter than the 815 unopened, much narrower and thinner.

    I have had the A530 for 2+ years and am surprised at the size of the phones. But with cam, mp3 etc, I suppose something has to give. Anyone compare the E815 with the Samsung A890? I really like the Samsung menu/contacts but have heard plenty good about the 815.

    V60 = Dimensions 3.42" x 1.77" x 0.95" (87 x 45 x 24 mm)

    V710 = 3.70" x 1.93" x 0.92" (94 x 49 x 23 mm)

    E815 = 3.71" x 1.95" x 1.01" (94 x 50 x 26 mm)

    Don't worry about proving your point Critic. The only one who seems to disagree is a troll who will most likely resort to name calling as he has done in other threads. Don't waste any more effort on this troll.

    And calling somebody a troll is not name calling? The 815 is as big as a shoebox. Period. There is no reason for Verizon's phones to be so big. Have you ever seen the phones they sell in Europe? They're half the thickness of the 815 and opened up the length of the 815 closed. Plus they get 7 hours plus talk time. Why can't we have phones like this?

    Critic, the 710 and 815 are roughly the same size, but quite a bit larger (length and wide wise) than the V60. And particularly more noticeable when the phones are open and laying side by side.

    BigPimP,

    Did you attend school? Your grammar is immaculate.

    Let me throw out an opinion. Why would I take anyone's advice if they speak like my 4 year old niece?

    How can you even afford a $200 phone. I'm sorry, but I'm tired of all this s*#%. You should visit http://www.seussville.com/. :loony:

    I think the 815 is a good phone. I've had the 710 since it came out and have loved it. The 815 is simply an upgraded 710. I think the 710 should have had some of the things the 815 has, like a cell-phone quality camera (I know that sounds funny). The 710's camera was pretty much a waste. I don't take many pics with my cell phone but when I do, it is nice to be able to see the pic. With the 815 that is now possible. I like the new voice dial and the skins too. It is a nice upgrade. I don't think I would pay and sign a new contract for it but lickily I didn't have to. Overall it is a decent phone.

    Actualy, the e815 is just about a millimiter too small for my hands. And no, I can't palm a basketball so my hands aren't THAT big. And I like the seperation of mic and earpiece...it keeps the feedback down.

    Size? Im a big guy 6'1'' 240+lbs, this phone works great with my sausage fingers..I dont like those tiny phones.
    To me the E815 was a lifesaver.
    I had Cingular/At&t with my old Moto phone & couldnt get a signal anywhere in my home Lodi NJ.
    Switched over to Verizon E815 & now pull almost full bars & great call quality from my basement office too... with 2 1/2' + thick poured concrete walls & small windows.
    Ringtones,mp3 stuff is not important to me, its all about making that call.
    I can now strip my landlines & save some bucks.

    PS its been pouring here for days & still get great signal,,would love to find that tower.
