It's a good thing you didn't get the 6+, your cart doesn't have a roof rack Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk
Or you could just install a belt clip on the inside of the roof so all your passengers can be entertained.
Thanks Eileen, the color is called blazing red and it's gorgeous. I had a grey 2011 before that I traded in. Always wanted a red with a white top-the Classic Mini Sorry Vf no such color in the new ones and even if there was I wouldn't get it. Sent from my iPad Air using Tapatalk
Red is probably a better color choice to see the mini in deep snow I see there is a light coffee color. But I've seen ones that a bit lighter shade. Enjoy your new toy.
Hmm... if blazing red lives up to its name deep snow won't be a problem, given a little time the mini will be sitting in a big puddle
Wow. You must have been making a sharp turn. I noticed the "S" on the grill slid all the way to the left! Seriously, though, I hope you are ok and have good insurance.
Thanks KJ, I am fine and do have insurance, will find out how good. Btw, I wasn't turning and the that's where the "S" belongs.
I know. just teasing. I actually did look at the original image and noticed that. BTW, for some odd reason, that is my wife's favorite "little" car. She has favorites for every model of car: fav SUV = Escalade, fav mini SUV = Honda CRV.
I am glad to hear that. Thanks, I have been assured that my baby will fully recover as well, but I am keeping my fingers crossed until it actually happens. Funny!!! Thanks, my pride certainly was. The car hardly shows much damage even on the outside. The glove box opened up and was hanging at an angle, I think that was the only damage inside. I didn't know what the deflated airbag on the floor was - found out that it's a knee bag, hmm didn't even know there was such a thing. It will be a long way to recovery though, first MiniUSA will be sending an engineer to investigate and only then can the repairs be started. The Mini CSR, said to expect as long as 4 weeks. In the meantime they will pay for a rental but it will be from a regular car rental agency, so no Mini
One month and 5 days later my Blazing Red is back home in our messy garage. Sent from my iPhone 7 using Tapatalk.
Nice! What is it like being a mini driver? Is yours a stick? I ask because I'm thinking about getting something different, maybe something with a stick while I'll still feel like going through the gears.
Thanks! Now you are in trouble, I could talk about Minis forever. I love being a Mini driver, it is my "Turbo powered Go-Kart". Mini drivers always acknowledge each other and will invariably park their Mini next to another if the slot is open. I have 16-70 + year olds express all kinds of interest in my car and praise it and most end their conversation with "I have always wanted one". This is my second Mini, the first was a 2011 and truthfully I liked the looks of that better but the power and handling of my 2015 is far superior. My blazing Red is a strange mixture of modern and ancient technology, for example It has all LED lighting, dual heating, heated seats etc but all seat adjustment are totally mechanical. Unfortunately it is not manual transmission, I wanted one in manual transmission so bad but it was getting to the point of manual transmission or a divorce. . It has Steptronic auto transmission. I would highly recommend the Mini, you will love it I am guessing, never heard a Mini driver regret their purchase. PS: it has no room for a spare tire and so comes with run flats, on both of mine I had them changed to regular all weather tires. The run flats are too heavy for the car and have been known to cause problems. Of course that means I don't have any spares in the car but I do have one in the garage.
I'd never heard of Steptronic. Turns out to be BMW's branding of a cross manual-automatic transmission. Porsche calls theirs Tiptronic but it uses an usual switching/shifting system. https://www.google.com/search?q=Ste...c+&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I was a manual trans driver from age 16 to 54. At age 54 I started getting arthritis in my ankles and using clutch got too painful. I miss "stick" drives. Now, at nearly age 66, I've been an automatic trans user for 12 years. Hate it.
Thanks KJ, sorry I should have defined Steptronic - it is a fake manual transmission is how I see it. So which model of Mini is your wife's favorite? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I'm still driving a stick (Acura TL-S 2008) but it seems I'll end up with an auto next time I get a car. Frankly, with the amount of driving I do (very little) and the place I end up driving the most if I'm actually driving (San Francisco) the manual is not all that much fun. 30% grade will do that to you
Once we moved to Chicago I got rid of my stick. My left leg would actually get tired in traffic driving home in the afternoon
@charlyee: My wife hasn't really looked at the models that closely. She just thinks it is "cute." She is now giving serious consideration to getting a Honda CRV. I have a 2005 Honda Accord and she has a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. When I become too weak to drive (or maybe after I die) we've discussed her selling both vehicles and taking the profits to buy the CRV. I've already offered to allow my wife to sell the Honda, but she wants me to have my mobility as long as I can. @dmapr: Yeah, back in the late 1980s through the late 1990s I drove the streets of San Francisco. I completely agree with you. My heart would pound when I was stopped on an incline. I finally got the proficiency of using (releasing) the hand brake, letting out the clutch, and stepping on the gas all at once. For years one of my bucket list wishes was to rent (just for a day) a Mazda Miata or a BMW (definitely stick) and drive it down HWY 1 from Monterey to Morro Bay. That would be, as they used to say, "a BLAST!" But now my health is such that getting out of the house is only for very short, local trips. The farthest I go is to Stockton to meet with my oncologist and even that is exhausting. @palandri: Traffic was an exhausting situation to be in with a stick shift. Constant stop and go.
@KevinJames the problem on some of those, like Filbert street is that it's too steep so even with a handbrake the car rolls down. I never went as far as Morro Bay. In fact, haven't gone south past the Big Sur. I should probably do it someday…
This 3 in 1 lens kit appeared in the mail box today with a card saying it is a gift for a loyal Mini owner. So weird !!!! Sent from my iPhone 7 using Tapatalk.
