You need to get a copy of Motorola Phone Tools (MPT). This will let u use your usb cable to transfer mp3's rather than sending them via text message. You need to check to make sure your phone software and MPT are up to date. Your phone software should be 24.2_00.37.00R and MPT should be version 4.36. If both are correct, try restarting both your phone AND computer, and try again.
Hi, I was reading your thread about connecting a Sprint V3M to my computer, well I have it connected and when I look in the Device Manager; it shows up the following: Motorola USB Device -Accessories Interface -Data Logging MCU Interface -Test Command Interface But I can't get MSU to recognize my phone, it always say my device is not fully powered up. I follow the instructions for disconnecting my phone and reconnecting, but I still get the same problem. My phone is fully charged and turned on; PLEASE HELP!!!! I have MSU, MPT, and the USB drivers downloaded, but I'm still not having any success. I've down Motorola Live Update and it states that I have the latest version, but I'm still not able to connect my phone to MPT or MSU. HELP!!!!!!
You shouldnt need MSU yo get your phone to work with MPT. We know your MPT is up to date. Just make sure it is version 4.36. Lastly, you need to make sure your softare on your PHONE, is up to date. It should end with .37 something. Check what it is and post here, so we can figure out what is wrong
Thanks alot, I figured everything out before your response... I've already transfered some pics to my phone, but so far I've been unable to transfer any ringtones that I have created with MPT; do u have any advice for this new problem??
What error message are you getting? Or which folder are you trying to put them in? What format are they? mp3?
I have a red motorola v3m throught Sprint. Each time I try a dial up connection I get the message on my phone that says Error #67 registration failed. your Power Vision username and/or password my be incorrect. Please try again. Note: I am trying to use a dial-up provider. Also, I get the same error when I try dialing #777 ps. I have unlimited power vision. Thanks in advance, me234
Hello To All, I Have The Red Sprint V3m And Phone Tools 4. At First Nothing Worked For Me. Between This Site And Sprint Tech And Motorola Tech I Have Learned A Lot. First Thank You Cincyball For All Of Your Posts. I Will Try To Describe Things I Learned. From Sprint I Learned Almost Nothing, Just How To Make Sure You Have The Latest Version. You Will Need This Version(24.00_00.37.00r).second, From Motorola, I Bought Phonetools From Bestbuy. It Would Only Update To Version 4.34 Then Say Upto Date, even When I Loaded Updates 1 At A Time. Now Thing Get Important. Motorola Gave Me A Ftp: Address To Download(sorry I Don't Have It With Me). I Downloaded This And It Brought Me Up To Version 4.36 Of Mpt. I Did This And Phonetools Worked For Me 1 Time. I Would Bring Up Mediacenter And Left Side Of Desktop Would Show Files Of My Desktop(window Xp Service Pack2) And My Rt Side Of Desktop Would Show No Folders On Phone. Now When You Download Updates Motorola Says To Disable Virus Software. Also When You Tell Mpt To Set Up Phone Do Not Select Default. Make A New Phone Connection. I Did All Of This And Now Mpt Works Great For Me For Ringers. At Least It Has For 3 Days. I Still Need To Try Music And Pics. It Loads The Ringers In The Same Place That The Ones That Are With The Phone Are,not Under The Ringers Icon In The Quick List With The Games And Screen Savers. Sorry For The Long Post. I Hope This Will Help. Keep Up All Of The Great Info.
me234 you are not alone. I've seen many questions on how to use the Sprint V3m as a data modem without a clear answer. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=8590035
