Just got it yesterday. So far pretty cool! This is going to be fun and perhaps useful too. Need to get to know it a bit more before I can comment more Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
It's very light, and I just did 30 min of running and found the fluoro band not uncomfortable at all. I measured it as 51 grams. By comparison, my Slim Skagen titanium watch and SS mesh band is 40 grams... And my gold Rolex is 133 grams. Does that help? (Btw, the Apple pages says the watch is 25 grams and band 37 grams, so 62 grams total. Maybe my scale is off, but all above was just measured with the same scale, so the relative comparisons should be useful) Plainly, I find it very lightweight. Actually I ran with the Spigen case on it, so that adds a few grams ( just measured at 54 g total). Normally I intend to be without the case, since my shirt sleeve provides good scratch protection. That is the battery percent remaining: 99% The face is customizable. It could be battery or another choice, or left blank. The 3 pm is a calendar appt for today. The moon means it is in Do Not Disturb mode, as my watch is until 8 am. It's set to mirror the iPhone settings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
These guided tours to watch functions came in an email after setting it up. I hadn't seen them before, and they are useful. About 11 videos that give a beginning functional overview. https://www.apple.com/watch/guided-tours/#film-welcome?cid=& Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Siri and maps on a wrist. Pretty cool. Said, "hey Siri, give me directions to the hardware store","which one?" I picked the one and off it went, giving me a wrist vibrate, beep and text for turn by turn. My clunker car has no gps. I'm liking this watch. Left the phone in my pocket. Sweet! Another example. In the kitchen both my hands were in use and sticky, gooey and flipping pancakes. My iPhone was in the next room (dining room). "Hey Siri," I said to my watch, "call my wife". My wife was upstairs in bed. The Apple watch connected the phone call. " breakfast is ready, come on down", I spoke to the watch speaker phone, using it like a Dick Tracy wrist radio. She answered "be right down" Cool! PS: definitely using my iPhone less, leaving in the pocket. And the battery has improved. Meanwhile the Apple watch gets me through the whole day. First day I had 33% remaining at bedtime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Are there any applications for the watch that you want or is the watch setup so you don't need any additional applications?
The watch iOS comes with a dozen apps that mimic what ones gets with a phone. Additionally you can add apps from the Store. More importantly, apps you already have on your iPhone ( like Uber, Instagram, CNN...) will download, if you want, to the phone. And you can mirror alerts, etc on the phone to the watch. Below is a screen shot of what comes with the phone, not shown are Stocks, Weather, workouts, camera, timer, world clock I like the remote camera app. From the watch you can see the iPhone camera viewfinder and click a snapshot. Great for group photos on a tripod. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
