    Hi Theorist great review thanks much I've been eyeing this little phone.

    Just wondering, for those who have the phone already, I have 2 little questions :)

    1. When you're making calls does that little plastic flip act as a speaker where the shiny motorola logo is or basically do you have to lift it such that the plastic flip is way up above your ear to make a call ?

    2. Does this phone have predictive text or T9 Text input? That would make messaging much easier imho

    Thanks! :)

    Hey;

    Can't help you much with Tmobile, but I was hoping you could set me up with the current setting you have which connect you successfully to Cingular. No matter which way I put them in I cant them to save and connect. Let me know. Thanks.

    I just got my a1200 off of ebay last week and I have cingular and I can't get the browser or the mms to work. If you have, could you let me know how to set it up. I tried talking to cingular but it was a waste of time.
    Thanks

    I NEED HELP.
    I can't believe this and I feel really stupid. I just got my A1200 and I can't get it to ring or vibrate. It wall not register incoming calls. It worked for the first couple of calls but now nothing. What am I doing wrong? I am so frustrated. I am not technology challanged so it makes it even more frustrating.

    UPDATE...Hello again,
    OK, my phone will accept SOME incoming calls but not all. When it doesn't go through it lets me know I missed a call!! How can this be. I have actually called from 2 separate phones one after the other, one went through and the other didn't. Does anyone know what's going on. Thank-you!!!!

    DNS: blank <unchecked>

    csd settings: <unchecked & blank>

    baud rate: auto

    line type: Modem

    time: off

    dsn: <unchecked & blank>

    save!!!

    NOW you can surf :lmao:

    As for MMS, make sure u created this profile first!!! and the proceed to the mailbox screen.

    hit the menu in left bottom and service setup> MM > new>

    Profile: Cingular MMS

    I input all of the above setting but still unable to access the internet and picture messaging. I also notice when setting up the MMS the Max sending Size is 30K. I did not see an option for 200K. Is there some kind of lock code on this phone? I bought the phone off of Ebay and i am able to make calls and text message so i assume the phone is already unlocked. Any info you can provide would be great. I have been at this for a month now. Thanks.

    How did you mod it to be able to use a 2gb mem card?

    I was lead to believe the best it could do was 1 gb.

    Thank you in advance

    Hey;

    Don't believe what is suggested. It can handle 2gbs no trouble. I have a couple .rm DVD movies and hundreds of songs and pics. I'm sure it could handle more if I only had a 3gb micro SD.

    Good Things...

    I have a few questions.

    I have a RAZR right now and it will often interfer with various speakers around the house and other areas (I'm sure if you used one you know what I'm talking about). Does this create the interferance?

    How does buying an "unlocked" phone affect things? Does it remove/inhibit any functions?

    Has anyone heard of "thedigitalparadise.com"? It seems to be a Russian web site (which scares me) but they have the phone for $260! That seems like a heck of a bargan, but is it too good?:eek:

    Hey;

    :twocents:

    As far as interference. My Razr and also my A1200 will cause sounds on various electronic devices with speakers. Like my alarm clock and TV. Radio waves, no worries. What eva don't kill ya makes you stronger.

    Unlocked - There are always variations in phone software depending on if it was unlocked from a specific cell company, or from the factory. I prefer factory. But the hardest part with them is inputting the basically blank Internet, email and multimedia settings. You can usually compare to a similar cell setting with the same OS from a companies support page. It can be like a puzzle:banghead:, but you can usually find the right combination through the Internet.

    I would stick to Ebay for euro and rare phones. Look for 1000's of positive feedback and @ least 98%+. Thats how I've always done it and no trouble after about at least 12 different models.

    Good things... :cheers:

    Okay, so I decided to get take the plunge and get one. I was hoping the interference with various speakers was corrected as the Motorola's are the only phones I've owned that do this. However, my previous phones were considerably less powerful and were just basic.

    Since I will be running on Cingular, I noticed the settings are listed above so I'm not concerned about them. However since the cover is the ear piece (doesn't it curve up on either side slightly?), I started wondering about how comfortable it use conventionally, not with a BT ear piece. I haven't read any reviews saying this is an issue, but I don't know how they were used for the reviews.

    I am gald to found that forum and this topic. Its really helpful !!!

    Here it comes - my questions i hope some of you might be able to help and answer me.

    I am staying in china right now, close to hongkong and i am thinking about how to purchase the "ming". China - Hongkong - USA - Germany, all this option i have. How about the chinese "version" is it possible to change the COMPLETE software langguage to english? Or i still will have some chinese characters or seomthing in the phone? How about the pricing in the listes countries, i saw the ming here in china for 3200yuen, thats around 408 USD and seems VERY expensive to me.

    Hey;

    I purchased my 1200 from a US Ebay seller for about $350, new. It is multilingual and all should have the built in ability to have the main language be set to English and even a secondary language set if desired. Good luck :patriot:

    Very excited! I just got confirmation that mine has been sent. I also paid about $350 for the phone (lalawest.com) because they also offered a free accessory package (silicon cover, leather phone holder, etc.) then I added a head set (couldn't pass up the price when buying a phone), warranty (I figured if I downloaded something bad I can get it taken care of) and a 1 gig card. Total about $480.:deal: :browani:

    I figured it wasn't bad, more than I originally intented on spending but I just needed all that stuff.:D

    FWIW- Lalawest is also on ebay with an above 98% rating.

    Now the next question, how well does it sync with Groupwise. I suppose I should've asked this before hand.:badidea: :bigear:

    Sorry for all the emoticons. There were some cool ones I haven't used before...:cheers2:

    not too easy. As i would need to send the phone to germany i have a problem with purchasing on eBay. Most sellers just send to usa, canada and so on.
    Someone knows the pricing in Hongkong for the A1200 ?

    In china its as i said, for whatever reason much more expensive...

    No prob. Any more concerns, just post.

    One thing I would like to add to my directions.

    After inputting my settings you should also goto:

    Main Menu > Browser (if you get an error message just hit OK) > menu > Setup > Profiles > Delete ALL old oversea profiles! > menu > New >

    Profile name : MEdia Net

    Homepage : http://device.home

    Network link : select newly created profile from drop down list.

    SAVE!

    It's all good, Happy New Year! :patriot:

    :dunno:These settings have helped many that have thanked me. Also my friend had just purchased one for Christmas. We entered all the settings above exactly for Cingular and no trouble. You can't have one letter or number incorrect and all have to the same exact "CASE" as above. If you make a mistake on upper or lower case it will not work. Go over it all again. It has to work.

    Good Things... :cheers:
