Ok I heard about this from a friend, maybe someone can confirm. If I drop my SIM into a myFaves enabled phone (switching to a faves plan soon), I should be able to program my 5 favorite ppl in. Ok, what happens when i switch my SIM back into my primary phone? Since myFaves was programed in to my account, does it travel with the SIM, or does it also have to do with the phone.
It travels specifically with your SIM's Subscribed Number. You can activate and change your 5 online in their web control panel/OLAM.
See i thought that too, But i just did it and called T-Mobile to add Myfaves 2 my plan and they told me that you have to have a MyFaves phone or it will not work..... I asked why and he said that MyFaves was a special program that T-Mobile created and had the software installed on select model phones, if your phone doesn't have MyFaves software on it, it can not rout the call through the correct system causing toy to still use your minutes. Its something to do with how the phone transmits its calls, The MyFaves use a special band, which allows the calls to be billed for free. In this case, its all about the phone, not the SIM..... I wish it wasn't tho!!!!! I want MyFaves!!!!! (I talked to 6 different reps to confirm, they all told me the same thing.....)
Read this thread & see post # 6, he got it by saying he had one of the My Favs phones. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/t-mobile-users/57718-myfavs-plans.html
I do not know if this is true, but I read on HoFo that eventually everyone that has a MyFaves plan and does not have a MyFaves phone will "supposedly" get in trouble once T-Mobile gets all of the kinks worked on it.
You have to have a MyFaves enabled phone in order to get into a MyFaves plan. No dealer should get you into a plan and let you use a non-compatable phone. If someone does that, they aren't the dealer you should be using. The T-Mobile web page will show you the MyFaves-enabled phones. On our web page, I have the phones that are MyFaves enabled and work the best in most areas.
There is a new MyFaves plan: MyFaves FamilyTime $49.99 / 1000 Promotional Plan 2 phones 1000 shared Whenever Minutes This one doen't include unlimited nights & weekends (unless they are in your Faves)
I'm looking for people who have gotten the MyFaves plan. Are you loving it? Can you give us a testimonial about it?
ok i have my faves, my phone is an unlocked sony ericsson w300i. it works perfactly. also the sales rep i talked to didnt evan slow down wen i told her wat phone i was useing. so you can evan use my faves from a phone origganly registered to att!
Here is the official scoop on my faves, you don't have to have a my faves enabled phone, you just can't change your contacts through the phone if you don't have the my faves interface, you can change the contacts through your mytmobile site, or cust care can set them up for you. Another drawback of not having the display on the phone is you can't confirm that your contacts are set up correctly until you receive your bill to make sure the calls are rated correctly, but you do not need a my faves supported phone to use a my faves plan. Dealers are not supposed to set you up with one if you don't have one, but they are more concerned about getting your commission than making sure you have what you need.
and just to tie up loose ends........myFaves contacts travel with your account and SIM not the phone........so you can put your SIM in any phone and if it happens to be a myFaves phone it will download your Fave 5 from the network
