I currently own a v710 and use Verizon wireless. The owner of our company decided to purhcase cell phones for us bosses instead of paying for our cell phone bills. At first I thought this might be a good idea but now I am not so sure. She purchased v551 phones from cingular and even though its a nice phone it is a major drop from my 710 in some features. The thing is a phone can have a million features but it comes down to what is important to you. One of my favorite features of the 710 is the voice dialing. I really like how you can say digit dial or name dial and I like the interaction when I am using my HS 850. The voice activation with the 551 is terrible, it feels like I am stepping back in time with the way it works. You have to voice train and it does not talk to you when you push the button on the hs 850. Now I can get the razr if I want which looks better but my question is does the voice activation work like the 710 or the 551? I am going to end up giving the phone back, buying the lg 8100 or moto e815 and just pay for my cell minutes myself. It is hard for me to step back in features, the 551 is not match for my 710. If you have a the answer on my v3 question I would appreciate hearing it. Any other takes on this would be great as well :D

Sportman, the voice activation on the Razr works just like that of the v551.

Or just wait for Verizon RAZR currently due in early December. That RAZR will have the feature you are looking for.

I also have the v710. Recently moved to Atlanta so decided to try Cingular and RAZR (since this is Cingular turf). I was disappointed in the RAZR...didn't have the voice clarity of the v710 and was a little awkward because it was actually too small! Also, the voice dail was the older training style and didn't work well. So, I turned everything back in w/in my 30 days and I'm still using the v710. And, I apologize to VZW for straying. I'll never do it again (unless Sprint comes up w/ something irresistible). lol

I agree with you the voice dialing feature of the 710 is miles ahead of the v551 or razr. I like the v551 but like I said before it is no match for the 710 in many areas. The screen clarity is another thing that the 710 is really strong. I did not relize how good it was until I compared it to the v551. :D

moto is comming out with the v650 I believe is the model which may have that feature you are looking for but not sure. Make the sales rep give you a live phone to play with before you buy the next phone.

i actually have seen the v710 and the v551 side by side, and i must say that the screen and the quality of the pictures is sooooo much better on the v551.

taking the voice command thing out, i think the v551 is a muh better choice.

That's cool, if Verizon gets the RAZR. It will around the same time my contract with T-Mobile expires! ;)

The picture quality of the 551 is better I agree, however the viewing screen on the 710 is better. Here is a link to phonescoop and the comparison of the phones. Check out the screen comparison.
