When I checked my voice mail this morning, I heard the announcement that T-Mobile will be upgrading to the new Message Waiting Indicator VM setup within the next week. I don't know if this is affecting the Los Angeles area completely or certain L.A. area codes first. The announcement stated that "based on customer feedback" this change is being made. This is a welcome change. :D

It's about time. I think Hawaii was already upgraded, but I could be wrong.
Where did you get your avatar from, btw? Isn't that a vodafone avatar?

The rest of California (SoCal - Irvine) and Las Vegas will convert next Tuesday (3/15) and most impacted subscribers in this area have already gotten their upcoming pre-conversion messages. That will wrap up the Hawaii, California, and Nevada markets.

Just after a little more than a 1 month layoff of no upgrades, T-Mobile will aggressively rollout the new systems for 6 straight back to back Tuesdays beginning with Seattle on April 19 followed by Portland(4.26), Salt Lake City(5.3), Denver(5.10), Manhattan/Long Island(5.17), and Phoenix(5.24).

After those markets there is a 1 week break and the action resumes again with rollouts on consecutive Tuesdays moving forward. Hopefully everything goes as planned and they stay on track with this.

Yes it is a Vodafone logo. I saved it from their site. Had to resize it a little. I think it's a sweet looking logo and thought "why not?". ;)

I tried doing that, but I'm bad with photoshop to resize it to make it fit here on WA.

    1. Hooray, that's terrific news -- the MWI thing will make a lot of people happy.

    2. Andy -- if you're on a Windoze machine you don't need Photoshop, just use the Micro$oft Photo Editor, go to Image > Resize, and resize to the proper pixel width (I forget the dimensions required.)

Zaphod, thanks for the advice, and I feel kind of stupid now, but I don't seem to be able to find photo editor on my machine, only thing I have is Office Picture Manager.
    Thanks,
    Andy

Andy, MS Picture Manager is what pix I save go to. There is an option to change the picture, where you can resize it to meet WA's avatar size limit. Which version of Office do you have? I have Office 2003. Older versions might not present the editing window the same as the 2003 version, but check it out anyway. Good Luck! :)

My wishes are officially answered on May 17 according to the unofficial rollout schedule :D

BUT someone over at Howard Forums just stated that the Seattle market which was originally slated for April 19 will be completed by the end of March.

One could assume that maybe the whole rollout might move ahead of schedule?

As you can tell I am waiting anxiously for this to be implemented in NY.

Got a VM today and NO TEXT MESSAGE!!! :highclap: :hyper: It was a little envelope with the message "New Voicemail" on the outside display! Called into it and setup everything the way I like it. Welcome to the 21st Century, T-Mobile!! Now I'm even happier with them than I was before. :D

Just curious...do the T-Mobile To Go customers in the areas that have already switched over, also have the MWI?

I noticed that when I coverted from To Go to postpay, the voicemail has a few additional options that the prepay voicemail did not have.

Since I'm gradually going to get the other phones off of Cingular, I now have a second T-Mobile phone (Nokia 3595) which is currently on To Go. I plan to give my mother that one as she doesn't use the current Cingular phone (my old $10.99/month) all that much and it would be more cost effective to stick with To Go on that, especially when the $100 card now has a one year expiration. :)

Unfortunately, Cingular locks you into a two-year agreement (Proposed new legislation in Massachusetts will change that to one year!) and I can't do anything with it until the end of the year. :(

If you a are a customer on the new system and go to another market that does not have MWI yet do you get a text or the MWI?

You will get the MWI. Your VM is tied to the market in which your number is activated in.

For example. If you live in L.A. and have a California area code and travel to Chicago or NYC you will still get MWI.

There is only an evelope icon on the V600, no tape icon. This is the same as the other two Moto phones I have.

It has been confirmed that the Seattle market subscribers received their pre-conversion voicemails yesterday afternoon. They are on-deck for the conversion to take place next Tuesday (3/29).
