Hey i got a New RAZR v3c phone, and im kinda confused with using it as a music player

I connect it to my usb port in my tower, and go into windows media player, im getting ready to syn my phone with it. But windows media player does not see my phone as a device.

it says "No device attached, press F5 to attach a device"
    or something along those lines

How do i get my razr phone connected with Windows media player

i just got it updated at the verizon store hopping i would get this "Sync" option in my tune & tones section in get it now...but i didnt get it. I later went back there, but they said i needed to format my phone with windows media player...how would i do that?

    Help :censored:

    i have a verizon, razr v3c phone.

You need special software to do that. I recommend Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools (MPT).

This works for the V3m and the V3c.

Download and install this file. It let's Windows/WMP know that the phone is a USB modem for transferring files.

If that does not work. Then go here and follow the instructions on post 1007.

Let us know how it goes.

I have the same problem with my phone. Mine is a Razr V3c though. I just bought the Music Essentials Kit at the Verizon Wireless store and they said all I would have to do is install the driver with the disc, and then plug my phone in and it would work. So far the problem is the same as the topic above, it says "Connect Failure" even though the driver installed correctly and my computer recognizes the phone as a modem/storage device. It's just that Windows Media Player 10 does not recognize it and my phone will not connect as well. I tried both of the ideas above and neither worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated, please email me if you have anything that might work. carissaholyoake@hotmail.com

There is a problem syncing WMP10 with V3c/V3m phones. Try this fix.
    (right-click, save-as)

ive got a V3M and i did everything suggested and i still get, "connect failure". one thing i noticed is that when my computer recognizes the phone as a usb motorola modem, and try to sync it, it works but only for a few seconds. in WMP 10, i see on the right, V cast mobile phone, and it says i have 17 mb's free space. then it disconnects and says it cannot find a device. i tried doing the moto patch and that didnt work. im lost and pissed. any help?
