To add to this question, can I load music to a Micro SD card on another device, then put the card in my 3M and play it?

    Thanks

pretty sure that music transferred on sd card will not be playable. there is no application to access the sd card on the phone.

the best way that i found is to BT the songs over via OBEX transfer. depending on the folder you put it in you can use it as a mp3 or a ring tone. put it under the music folder and it will be available for playing as a mp3 but you will be unable to use it as a ringtone. i just put mine under the main header and then choose it as a ringer if you want.

    hope that helps.

I'm not totally sure about this, but it works on my Verizon phone that has the Alltel firmware. Anyway, I'm able to put mp3s on the root menu of the transflash card, and the phone will play it. You just have to know how to find it. Go to Media Gallery > Sounds on your phone, then push the "Options" softkey. Choose "Switch Storage Device", then "TRANS - T-Flash". Then you should see the list of the songs you put on there, and you can just pick them to play them.

Hopefully that works for you. Those are the steps I just went through on my phone, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on yours.

Yes, that will work. Orrr, if u format your card in your phone, it will put two folders on the root (a little diff from verizon). It will put a/mobile, and a/motorola. Go into a/motorola/shared/audio and you can add mp3 files into that folder. Do this using a card reader or with the card in the phone. It is MUCH faster using a card reader though.

  7. i believe i remember reading, maybe here or elsewhere, that with vzw you have to use WMP 10.

Verison tells me that the synch only works with WMP 10.

How do I make sounds as ringtones? :-/

I thought that this topic title would help me ask a question....

I had the Verizon v3m razr recently replaced with another one and I think the firmware got upgraded or it's a newer model of the razr because the options are different from my old one.

I am trying to place my own mp3 ringtones on my Verizion Razr V3m. I turned the .mp3 files into small .qcp files size already. How do I choose these sounds as ringtones, as this new firmware makes sounds and ringtones separate things?

I think if you can save them on your SD card, then you should be able to pick them up from the menu selection. Not sure, as I have not tried this. But I have now been able to synch music to the phone, and have been able to remove the SD card and download the pictures saved to it. And the Verizon people said it could not be done! Just make sure that the phone formats your card. If you have your PC format it, the phone won't read it.

Re: How do I make sounds as ringtones? :-/

They're already saved on my micro SD card, but there are no options to select them as a "ringtone" because they're listed as just a "sound." Also, I couldn't find an option on my phone to format the SD card, so I did it on my computer and it works just fine.

I really don't want to spend extra $$$ the music kit Verizon has and I don't want to flash my phone either because it will void my insurance. :help:
