I spoke to CSR at a wireless phone company with the initials of VERIZON, and I asked if it was possible to download MP3's on the VX8000 via the data cable.... He said, verizon doesn't support it, but it is capable by some other means.... HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!? I WANT THAT!!! Anything would help....Thanks...
I agree with wgray. Plus, there are a lot of posts about doing this on HoFo. If you can't find them, run a search in the search bar on their site.
Do you guys know which version works? I tried 0.7.25 and 0.7.28 and both come up with errors when i try to get phone data.....I ll check the posts, thanks for the tip...
The developers are still working on it. You could try using the vx7000 setting for some things. Search the bitpim-user mailing list for anything else. Join the mailing list if you have more questions.
it is definitely possible to download MP3's on the VX8000. you may want to try the mp3 sample here: http://www.funformobile.com/pages/help/testPhone.php hope it helps...
I got the universal data cable from DataPilot yesterday, and I threw 2 full length MP3s for my ringtones on. Keep in mind, if you put a song like Bohemian Rhapsody on as a ring tone, it doesnt get to the good part in time, before the person hangs up, or it kicks into your voicemail, so I suggest cutting down your songs before putting them on your phone. That, and you can get more tones on there, you really dont need for than 30 seconds worth of ring tone, IMO.
But the vx8000 has external mp3 player controls. Sure, it's not an iPod, but you can still keep several full songs just for listening.
For another way to cut down on space, make them 64kbps as that is the max the phone speakers can play, that will cut down the size of the songs a geat amount -rC
tell you what if you want full songs, let me tell you the 8100 is awesome. just get a mini sd card and voila, theres your songs. sell the 8000 big brother just stepped in.
