I bought the LG Rythm the other day and i love it. Exept for one thing. I cannot use my own ringtones. I called alltel and they said they are doing this on all there new phones (sounds like verizon jr.) Someone told me bitpim might work so i am going to try that with the bluetooth. If this doesnt work I will probably return the phone. Is there anything else I can try ?

I can't say what to try but it's not Alltel, it's the DMCA.

Do you know what Format The Rhythm ringtones are in?
I have heard of people taking MP3's and taking a program like Audacity and converting it into the matching ringtone format, and then Emailing it to themselves, and then Downloading it to the phone, and using it that way. I'm not sure if it will work but you could give it a try.

I'm having the same problem with the Hue, tho my Razr has no problems with it.
I called tech support & they said it was a copyright issue & the reason my Razr will play ringtones I made up is because, perhaps, it's an older version.
I did create some ringtones w/Audacity & downloaded them onto my microSD card, but cannot associate them with anyone in my phonebook.
I'm curious, too, if the e-mail thing will work.

hello I have the same phone the LG Rhythm and have tried phonezoo where is was making my ringtones for my previous phone. I can retrieve the video msg but i can not use them as a ring tone. I have tried bitpim that doesn't work either. Is there any one that knows how to crack the silly code on this phn=one and use full mp3's and not just clips as your ring tone? please reply or email me thanks
oh in reading down further i noticed the question what format are the ring tones in for the rythm and they are in .mid format.

This is a crazy thought but it works on the AX 560, download Realtone Jukebox and you can set it in that program.

they are not saved in a special format, but they are set to be used as ringtones by the phone. You have to give your mp3 songs the right to be used as ring tones.

    Click ME

check this..its how i get it on my RKR z6m, it works with alltel also, not just verizon

That doesn't work. Alltel is smarter than that.

Only one free download and then it is either .99 or 1.99 per ringtone.

All you need is the program on the phone. You can browse ringtones with that I believe.

You can look at the ringtones all you want on the program but if you want to use them you have to buy them. I believe that we are wanting to make our own ringtones or just use our mp3 that we have already purchased and use it as a ringtone. Alltel has blocked this feature.

The reason I say this is because on my friend's old phone (AX 565) it worked for him.

    LG Scoop Ringtones

Have someone bluetooth some songs to you. Also a pic text will work. Save it in my audios.

Then pic text it to yourself. Recieve the text and when it plays click options and then down to Save Media.
Save it as audio and then rename like add ring to end.

Then go to Multimedia folder and down to Shuffle.
Click Ringtone List and then Add ringtones

    Go to Settings
then Sound then Ringers then down to Shuffle turn on for all calls
You have to shuffle thru your list randomly but if you have three or four you like they will come up ramdomly.
