Alltel's new phones don't allow Mp3s for use of ringtones, unless you buy them from Alltel. Is there a program or a download out there to bypass or disable this function?
So thats it? They are just phone specific ringtones? I assumed it locked out all mp3s regardless of phone format. Thanks for the info, I will try it and see what happens.
So in a similar vein, I want to move some ringtones manufactured thru itunes to my samsung hue. I tried unsuccessfully to transfer an mp3 to it via blutooth, tried to use the data cable, and got the mp3 transferred successfully, but then the phone told me it wasn't a supported type of file(mp3). So what type of format do the ringtones need to be in? midi? wav? mp3 unlocked??
I'm having the same problem. I bought a ringtone from alltel and it worked. However, the ones I download from phonezoo oy myxertones doesnt work..
Downloaded ringtones, ordered from the internet, are supported if AND ONLY IF Alltel is listed on that site as a carrier that is supported by that site. I just looked and those sites don't meet that criteria. Sorry. You don't like this, blame Congress. They passed the DRMA
