MP3 Clips on the V710

I know this probably has been discussed numerous times on these forums but could someone please tell me how to edit mp3 clips so that they are only 30 seconds long and so that they can be uploaded onto the Motorola V70. Also, step by step directions on how to upload would be helpful....thanks
