try Suncom..They have the unplan no watching your minutes..Look at their map and see if its for you.My sis lives in NC and loves Suncom.Or you could try Sprint although i dont know how it is in that area but here in Knoxville its great!

Verizon should be good in that area.

God no! SunCom is about the worst carrier is most of Mooresville and the surrounding area, with perhaps the exception of Cricket. (I know this because I live 5 miles from Mooresville and go there frequently.)

Verizon can't be beat in Mooresville. That said, if you go out Brawley School Rd. for a ways, no carrier covers. There are a couple of other areas surrounding LKN that there's no cell coverage.

Alltel is superior to VZW in much of Huntersville (10 mi. south of Mooresville), and VZW is the only carrier that works inside buildings for the most part in Davidson (5 mi. south of Mooresville).

Should you choose Alltel and go into an area near in Western NC (and when I say Western, I mean all the way from the TN line to Mocksville!) where Alltel doesn't cover but VZW does, you'll roam on VZW. VZW does the same for the most part with some exceptions. (Alltel has to include all of Western NC because that area is covered by one SID, 139, which I call the Western Carolinas SuperSID.)

I have to agree with SQFreak. Stay away from SunCom, they are a horrible company to deal with and their coverage area isn't that impressive.

  6. ^^ from what SQ freak said, i'd probably go with Verizon... ive not really seen a time when they have an absolutely horrible network, except for atl which ive heard they're starting to fix.. but yeah, i mean, even when i had a vzw prepay, or vzw activated tracfone, the network was always great

I drive the Charlotte area for a living, from Chester, SC to Statesville, NC and all points in between. You can get more minutes, better plans with Alltel than with Verizon. I have had very few coverage issues with Alltel either even when traveling from Charlotte to Northern New England.

PS YES, Suncomm is terrible, so is Nextel!
