Thanks to all who sent a welcome, I've been seeking a site that shares mature ,sensible and realistic content. I hope i found it this time ! Anyway if you can offer any advice on the W. "490" i'd like to hear it, I'm a baby boomer so I don't throw my phone on the table ,put in the wash machine or leave it laying around the driveway. These are among the the stories I've heard about this phone, being a piece of garbage. I welcome any pro - con comments !

First off, welcome to the site.

Now I must say, I've never owned a Moto "W" series phone, but everything I've heard and read is the "W" series isn't Motorola's best. The phones will do the job but aren't as good as non-"W" phones. These phones are meant to be inexpensive and basic.

Moto quality has suffered the last several years, which is sad considering how awesome their phone were just 3 years ago.

What I can say is, if you take care of the phone, you should be fine, but don't expect it to have all the bells and whistles of higher end Moto phones. Just be forewarned in the event glitches develop, as this would be my concern with this phone.

I'm not sure I'm using this site properly, ( I'm new to using this system of computers, my last one was an Apple 2 E, anybody familiar with those , knows I'm flying blind). hope I'm in the correct area to type my reply to "Mobile Mike" . thanks for the info Mike , I try to take care of everthing I own , I'm "old school" I still have shirts in my closet I wore MORE than 40 years ago ! Yes, I have new one's too , like ol house slippers "they" refuse to leave. I bought the phone because it is louder than most I've heard. I'm 62 , a retired jet eng. mechanic so my hearing is not all it used to be. Pity all those who blast music (ie.) NOISE through their ear-set or headphones, they will join the rank's of us whose most common ly used word is HUH..? . anyway , I'm not concerned about the bells & whistles, the Moto - W 490 has a camera & plays music but I have a good 10 mpx. camera for pictures and a H-D TV & Stereo system for entertainment. My phone is a phone First, anything else is a blessing or a hindrance. I'ts for emergencies mostly, I just need something that's dependable. I have 3 old Nokia phones , last one is currently " on -vacation " so this is my latest gadget. I guess we'll see from here . Ya "ll have a GREAT one ! ...........Later Ted M.
