About the V600 bluetooth... I tried linking a Powerbook and my phone and they couldnt find eachother. I don't know what that problem is.
I've been following the V710 forum on phonescoop and I think this is the one I will extend my contract on. I didnt think I'd go for another Motorola but it offers so much more than the Audiovox 9900 and Samsung A670. One post mentions 6/18 though I cant believe VZW is releasing so many new phones within the month of June. I'll be happy if its out by July.
A poster in a competing forum says that he knows through his GF, a Verizon employee, that 3 new phones are coming out in time to be Father's day gifts. I do not put much trust in that post, but just want to give my 2 cents.
I asume that it's 3 phones from Motorola that are supposed to be coming out. What's everyone's guess?? V710, V810, and A840?
Samsung a650 was 5/28/04? Samsung a670 will be tomorow 6/8/04. And Either the Lgvx 7000 or the Audiovox is suposed to be out 6/15/04. We will see.
Just thought I would let you Verizon folks know since I know you are waiting impatiently for the v710....I spoke briefly to a Motorola rep. today who was in our office sell our IT people WAN equiptment....I asked him if there was any way he could check on the release date for me, he said it was a completely different division of the company but would email me anything he could...low and behold about four hours later he sends me an email saying it will be out "sometime this month" but that he didn't know a date and cautioned that at this point it is really up to the carrier when to release the phone.
The v710 will be "released" at the end of the month. The first day it could be available to customers is July 3rd. Not will be available, just could be available. Regardless the end of the month everyone will sign on the dotted line and say the phone is fit for man. After that Verizon will release it as it fits their schedule. The Moto PR is starting to rev up. http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/hellomoto/experience/v710/flash/shortfilm.shtml? Here is a short film that shows the V710 in action.
I saw that film a few days ago. Anyone else think it was a little twisted and out there/scary for a phone promotion???
Jesus Christ, why isn't anybody responding? Have you VZW punks shunned me now or did something really happen to Ceno? I am serious, why do I not see Cenobyte anywhere around these new and improved forums?
Saw the specs on phonescoop and didn't realize the phone was that small. 3oz. would make it about the same as the Samsung A530.
Yeah the size would be really nice. It is TINY, especially when compared to most new clamshell phones coming out. The V710 is huge, the v600 is bulk (IMO) and they all just seem kind of big with the exception of the a680 for Sprint.
No... it was uh funny? Lol j/k. But I'm really set on getting a new Powerbook G4 lol. Hopefully it'll be able to link...
You should be fine...I got a BT Palm to dail on my v600 with no problem. If you look on the ATT forums forums you can find instructions there or by searching on OCS for linking with just about any bluetooth enabled device.
All you newcomers must not know me, I haven't been around afterall. Looks like The Gentleman is gonna have to crack a few skulls, remind these folks why my name can be considered an oxymoron.
I worked in that mercer mall once, and I was by far the rudest person there, although If memory serves me correctly there were a few rude employees. I fired one guy and his mother came in and cussed me out as well as his brother. Two years later I ended up working in the same store as his brother...I can say that guy hated me. I also caught a few bad check writers...they were not too bright. As for the a710, I have not heard anything recently...The Moto rep did have an active one I played with at the beginning of last month. My guess is what is pushing this phone back is that Verizon is probably trying to limit the picture transfer capabilities of the phone to be limited to only the wireless network. With the built in memory card which will store video on pictures that could limit the number of pictures users would send over wireless. (Not what a wireless carrier wants to do at this point in the game.) I love my i600 but may go with this phone or the new htc harrier depending on which one hits the market first.
Oh I havn't been able to try linking because it was just a laptop at the store that I'll probably get soon. I might try next week of something but I'll save the link .
You can't go by the numbering of the models, because Moto has not been consistant in its numbering scheme. (Example: The V80 was just released for GSM - it's a swivel formfactor, but other than that it's the equal of the V600.) In terms of features, its: V710 > V810 You really can't bring the V600 into the comparison, because it's on GSM, and doesn't operate on the VZW network. Of course, that reasonably simple equation gets all kinds of funked up when you add in the two recently announced models, the V260 and V265. And if you try to plug in the A840 - fugeddaboutit!
Being able to use the memory card to transfer photos to the pc is a huge feature. If Verizon limits that, it would be pretty lame!
