Are you talking about the LED camera "Flash"? --Yea, it's pretty much worthless. It DOES get a little brighter when the picture is taken, but I'm not counting on using it at all.

It WILL make a nice emergency flashlight, though!

Not to pick a fight or anything, but you would be the first person lately who has had anything positive to say about AT&T CS. I know at least a dozen people who regularly have very negative things to say about it, guess this isn't the thread for discussion on AT&T though.

I had my numbers flashed for free no questions asked....... Maybe the place I go to is cool, but I've always gotten free flashes, upgrades, and antennas when I break them. Anyways this phone is absolutely rediculous and I don't see why anyone in their right mind wouldn't go out and get it two weeks early, for roughly the same price, from radio shack....... About the flash, I know you can control the brightness, and that there is that flash light on the front, but I have yet to see it light up or flash.. Other than that I'm on cloud nine :D :lmao: :D

Also, I haven't had any problem with my battery.... It was charged when I recieved it, and after messing around with it for at least 2 hours straight, only one bar was missing.

I thought about listing the numerous headaches and heartaches of being an AT&T Wireless customer, but I'll look for another thread 2 vent.

Instead, I'll sing the praises of Verizon Wireless. More than twice the signal strength of AT&T. Very friendly customer service and quick to respond. The folks at Radio Shack went above and beyond. Much clearer reception and better battery life. "Can you hear me now?" I CAN!!! :)

Hope y'all enjoy your 710s as much as I am. :)

Does anyone know, if i return my v710 to RS, will they credit my visa card or send me a refund check in the mail? If they do credit my visa card, can i head over to a VZW store when they have it and get it without a problem? Also, when i return the v710 to RS, is my contract automatically cancelled?
    :(

Radio shack was helpful and friendly, and corporate customer support is good with verizon, but the majority of experiences I've had in the store have been horrible. For the most part they seem slow and understaffed.

Stores that have been good: Providence Place Mall, Burlington Mall in Mass.

Stores that have sucked: State Street, Rockford Illinois, under staffed, entire tech department goes out to lunch for 2 hours. Lee highway in FairFax, Half the Customer Support department goes off on break while people are waiting. I waited for an hour and a half just to return my phone.

hows the call quality on the headset? Also, I picked up the car charger for standard motorola phones, the one with the 3 stage indicator lights, anyone know if thats the right one. Obviously the v710 isnt listed on the compatability chart on the back because its so new.

Has anyone tried to connect the phone to a non-motorola bluetooth dongle. I can not get the mobile phone tools from motorola to connect to the phone. I have tried to just have it use the bluetooth modem to make the connection, but when it goes through the detection process it finds errors and then will still not make a connection. I have tried one from Belkin, Linksys, and compusa. Each one has the same result. Motorola support said it was my dongle, but I don't think so. I am wondering one of 2 things: Has Motorola locked out all other dongles but the one from them (which only has range of 30 feet) or is there a problem with the phone????? any ideas?????

I got a question for you about the Radio Shack Return Policy. I called the San Francisco Radio Shack's and was told that the return policy is 14 days Full Refund and 30 days exchange. However, the only store that had the V710 and had 4 of them because they took 2 from another store when I visited them and played with the V710 they still had, seemed to after people bought a Sprint or VZW phone either as a new activation, upgrade, or full non-activated price. After they pay, the store manager tells the salesperson to write in "No Returns, 90 Day Warranty" on the left blank space right where the Subtotal and taxes are. Can the stores legally do this since the official RS Corporate Policy on the back of the receipt says that you can return any item purchased within 30 days for a full refund.

are you saying they put that on a cell phone receipt, if so that is just insane. unless there were some out of the ordinary reasons this is not legit. the store can do something like write that in on the ticket but i've never heard of doing that on a phone. and a 90 day warranty that is crazy. we sometimes do stuff like that for smaller clearance items that are sold "as is" but i've never seen anyone actually do it for a cell phone. do you have any idea which phone it was?

There has to be more to the situation then that though.

Truth is the return policy of a cell phone is or anything is 30 days money back or 90 days exchange. The reason most sales associates can safely say 14 days money back or exchange is because that is your trial period through verizon or sprint, so the contract can be nulled within that time. You can read that on the back of the receipt, and a manager does not have the power to go around that, unless of course there is a special case of some sort and the district manager has agreed. Now you can easily call 1-800-THE-SHACK and complain/ask questions on what he wrote on the receipt or you could ask for the district office number and talk to the district manager yourself. A manager or associate is required to give that number if, of course they know it. Now most districts that I know of only will exchange the phone for 30 days, and reserve the first 90 for manufacturers defects to swap the phone as a customer service, and that is per the DM.

I have a few questions I hope someone can answer.
I picked up a V710 at RS, I was up for renewal and elegable for NE2, I now understand that I can not get the NE2 if I go to RS, Correct? but I was told that Verizon may not allow NE2 credit on this phone either, I assume this is a bad rummor, can anyone confirm?

Second I just read the $70 rebate form from RS, it states " Some restrictions apply, Not valid on prepaid or upgrade phone plans". My plan was a renewal for 2 more years and my receipt reads:
"Plan type: VZW 2-YR EXIST CUST UPGRA"
I would like to know if this means I will loose the $70 rebate and the $100 NE2?

What are the terms of the VZW $70 rebate, will it be the same?

Final question, If I return the phone and back out of the renewal with RS, will it mess things up in the computers when I go to VZW in 2 weeks for there phone?

This is a follow up to my last reply. I could not get the phone to sync up with mobile phone tools 2.2.1f using bluetooth. So I tried the USB cable: SAME THING HAPPENED. There is either something wrong with my phone or the phone in general. Has anyone been able to get this to work? How can you get the pictures off the phone if you can not connect to it??? Any help would be great.

and you wonder why verizon dosent have it out yet ? at least when they really debut the phone they should be able to fix any issues that arise. personally im gonna wait till the bugs are or arent worked out...
