Good to hear you found a phone that works well. :thumb: I wasn't really commenting on the performance of the phone, I've never used one, I just can't get over the shape. Childish I guess, but it irks me to no end.

Think of it as the V300 vs. V600. It will use the V710 software base. Not too sure on the other details.

This new forum doesn't let you edit old posts. My comment about Verizon waiting 3 weeks to test the V710 was meant to be sarcastic. The phone has been early or on time for every milestone, and Verizon finds a way to slow it down and delay it at the end.

bonoriffic, did I understand your post correctly that there are 2 models coming out in the fall, the V265 which will have a camera and the V260 without a camera? Will they both have Bluetooth?

I have found, and some others as well, that it is a very comfortable phone to hold up to your ear and use. Can't really pinpoint why....my guess is the shape.

You understood correctly. Same phone, only difference is no camera. That will probably be the free with service, or promo phone to get people into the store. Then up sell on the camera model. Back to school phone that everyone and their brother will have because they will be so cheap.

Thanks for the info! I know there was another thread at one point on price. Any updates on ballpark figures for pricing with contract? Particularly the 710 and the 810?

I would actually like a V710 without a camera. They've already starting banning camera phones in a lot of places and corporations. I'm worried that I will be affacted by this soon. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have a 1.2MP camera built into the phone. But when I had the Nextel i95, I got it working with the T720 (GSM) camera attachment and after the first couple of weeks, the novelty of it wore off and I hardly used it. Bluetooth is more important to me than anything.

Well, I finally got tired of looking for a release date through other people, so I took mattters into my own hands. I emailed Motorola this morning, and I got a swift response in about five minutes actually, said that it will be released the 21st and that I could be the one of the first 710 people blah blah... The 21st is a Sunday which I don't think Verizon would release a phone on Sunday so I'm guessing it will be released on that Tuesday the 23rd, following Verizons tradition of Tuesday releases, but who knows?! :dunno:

Hope for the best... prepare for the worst...

Isn't this sad how we are so excited and obsessive about this phone? When by the time that this comes out Cingular or T-Mobile will have come out with better phones with more bells and whistles, the price we pay for having good service and call quality, even though every now and then I have my doubts and I want to switch... We gotta stay strong!!! :loony:

I'd bet a dollar that it would be June instead of this month. We shall see in about 12 days.

That's exactly how I feel about the phone. The camera is nice, but I never use the one on my phone now. If someone came out with a nice small bluetooth phone, I would be happy.

Actually, I think I'd use the camera more on the V710, since it can take a memory card. It's a much more convenient way of getting the pictures off the phone and it doesn't waste minutes the way emailing does.

I doubt it too......but I'll be calling VZW store every morning starting May 24 to see if they'll have it!!! I can't wait to exercise my "New Every Two" to have this in my hand!!! Speaker phone, MP3 as ringtones, voice digit dialing, bluetooth.....etc. :smilebig:

Did anyone pre-registered the free bluetooth headset at Moto's website??? I hope I'll get to be one of the first 710 for the offer heh...

I just received an email from Shop Motorola titled "Motorola V710. It's all the phone you need."
It directs you to: V710 Marketing link 1
    V10 Marketing Link 2

Hopefully it is "Worth the Wait" as they say in the message...

I had a change of heart.....u know how women are....lol....think i am gonna part w/ sammy this time. Simply can't resist all the bells and whistles w/ V710. however, if I travel frequently to other countries I would consider getting the sammy over V710.....but I don't. and I want bluetooth and that free wireless headset from moto!

But it won't be released then of course. Another week has gone by and Verizon is still not starting the last round of testing. I'd imagine the folks at Moto must be getting bored waiting for Verizon to do something.

Unless a miracle happens, it will be late June at the earliest.

Barring any failures, how long does the final round of testing usually take?
