The T720 launched at the end of September 2002 at $359.00 full retail. So I suppose you are correct that it was less than 2 years ago, by two months.
That's the wrong information since Sam K on Howard Forums has posted the correct numbers before but from what I remember from a person (Level2) who is a Motorola Authorized service center, the shipping battery is the SNN5685A. The extended battery is the SNN5695A. Edit: Looks like Sam K already responded above...
Hmm, it's a 5615A and not a 5695A since somehow I thought Level2 used the info you provided him on phonescoop or HoFo on the update to his site before he started charging.
Like niptlor said, any BT headset will work. Motorola's headsets have already been released. The one that the v710 is promoting is the HS810 which has been on the market for some time. The newer HS820 has been released outside the US for some time already. I have the HS820 as it came with my V80 OEM. I tried the HS810 awhile back and didn't like it as I had to take the headset off my ear to open the boom and then put it back on to turn it on/off.
From what I've read on various forums, it doesn't come with any carrying case or holster or belt clip.
Check out the following link, look at the 3rd item from the left. http://www.radioshack.com/category.asp?catalog_name=CTLG&category_name=CTLG_008_001_015_000&Page=1
About the transFlash card coming with the phone, i seriously doubt it. Just like digital cameras that dont come with memory cards, or the ones they do come with are like 8 or 16 megs. So if the V710 did come with one, it prob be really really small.
I know I'm right because I bought it the day it came out, and I'm up for the new 2yr contract on July 23.
so the educated guess here for the retail is 519.99? holy crap thats alot- bc im going to have to pay full retail. i thought for sure it would be under 400 considering the vx7000 retail is 340........i hope you guys are wrong
That is what it's going to come out as, but I am sure if you wait a month or two there will be a price decrease. Not that any of us want to wait.
haha well theres no way in hell im waiting...even if the price is sky high. plus i can take a chunk out with the 70 dollar rebate
Most likely the rebate is only gonna be for upgrades and new customers .... but agreed no way in hell i'm waiting
i would wait, but by this point...i have no patience left. im gonna jump all over this baby the second it gets out.... being 500 or 300. hmm just gotta find a lil more money around here
$519 sure does seem steep, especially when a Treo600 can be had for around $550. Sure it doesn't have bluetooth (I don't think) but it's has heck of a lot more functionality, albeit in a larger package.
Is 519 actually confirmed on the retail? or does anyone even know for sure yet?.... I talked to my neighbor today(verizon rep) and she said usually for all phones it is90-100 more than the 2 yr agreement price(without rebate) so that would but it at 419.99 which is more reasonable than 519.99. That would be my educated guess if any
Actually, it does. http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/hellomoto/experience/v710/flash/features_new.shtml?
An even better analogy would be the PDA -- 99% of cameras NEED a memory card to simply perform. PDAs work just fine without them (mostly) -- Just like this phone will work just fine (albeit without much storage capacity)without the T-Flash card. Someone name for me a PDA that has ever shipped with a memory card...
No... It requires a new format called "Transflash" -- Which can be inserted into any SD slot provided you use an adaptor. Here's the info on the Transflash: http://www.sandisk.com/pressrelease/20040227.html You can get pricing and availability by doing a Froogle search for "Transflash"
I highly doubt that your $520 price point is correct. This would mean a 200 subsidy w/o rebate and a 270 subsidy with rebate, highly unlikely that the subsidy would be this high on any phone.
OK, Radioshack's retail price are always much higher than verizon's. Verizon sells us the phones for more us being a authrized dealer and not verizon it self. We make the money on the activation but lose on the phone itself. For example: At The Shack - Sam A670 Retail = 349.99 1 year contract = 179.99 - 70 MIR = 109.99 2 year contract = 149.99 - 70 MIR = 79.99 At Verizon - Sam A670 Retail = 269.99 1 year contract = 219.99 - 70 MIR = 149.99 2 year contract = 169.99 - 70 MIR = 99.99 So Radioshack does retail at 519.99 but verizon i have no idea.
I still wouldn't buy a phone from Radio Shack. A friend of mine sent his A310 to get repaired and they lost his phone. Then gave him a POS T720 even though he paid $249.00 when it first came out.
The t720 would be the worst phone ever if it weren't topped by the god awful Samsung a310. So, infact radioshack did a small, (very) small favor. sry this post had nothing to did with anything else
The full retail price will be the same at radio shack as it is at verizon. Some dealers just add a flat fee when you don't sign a contract because they are paid a flat fee per contract signed, regardless of the phone sold. So for example, you can buy a T-Mobile phone from Best Buy for $200 more than the new customer price...But if the dealer actually lists "retail" price, it is the same price as "retial" price at a verizon store.
