You guys forgot its an MP3 player, the camera is 1.2MP (w/video capture)....and is also a Tri-mode phone. These are some major differences between the VX7000!

I personally think the pricing is pretty crazy. I paid less than that for my 1 year vx6000. 249 for two years of my life with verizon with one phone? ...eek.

Am I the only one who think ~$300 this phone (no contract) is reasonable? Given what this phone can do, I see no problem with this price.

Especially when I look at my current samsung who's LCD doesn't even work. :)

I don't really care what it costs, it's worth it... Also, an exact release date would be nice so I can carry on like the stalker I am with this phone, and be waiting at the store when it opens to get my hands on it ASAP. :lmao:

Not 100% sure but I asked that question before and the battery part numbers for the V710 are not the 5717, 5704, 5705 which is used in the V60 series and the v600 even. The V710 has different part numbers altogether. ecko04 mentioned the original battery part number which is the one that comes with the phone and then there is the new one which is on the FCC documents. The 5705 is the one that has a bump on the phone. I had the 5717 which was 500mAh slim that shipped with my v60c and then later got the slim 5704 which is 700mAh. The extended battery is over 1400mAh I think for the v710.

    Weird.

    http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/hellomoto/experience/v710/html/acc_batteries.shtml?

5705 is listed in the text, and 5958 (from the looks of it) is in the picture. Looks like it's gonna be a mystery! I would love a 1400mah battery...wow.

OK, lets say im the first person to get this phone (haha, yeah right.) and in like a month they start selling versions with better firmware, or there's an update to the software or something. Is there anyway to update the phone that i got? or am i stuck with the crap phone that i got first?

P.S. the reason that im asking is because i currently have the super original T720, that everyone knows realllly sucks. And the T730 is exactly the same, except different software. I think.

Ok, i understand that the phone will be 249 after the 70 mail in rebate w/ a 2 yr agreement. So the price for a 2 yr agreement is 319- which sounds pretty fair to me. Well i was wondering what the actual retail for the phone is ....w/o the contract, because thats how i will be purchasing the phone. Any info will be great, thnx guys

All you have to do is take your phone to the VZW store (most stores have this capability ... not ALL ... but most) and get the software flash upgraded. It takes about 30 minutes tops. (And BTW -- you could have done the same with you T720 and had the newest software put on it to fix the bugs. I did!)

im not a credible source who works for verizon but i think i remeber bono saying a week ago or so that after the phones are shipped it takes at least 2 weeks before the phones are released.

if he didnt say that, then sorry for giving your false hope. but 2 weeks from now is August and is a tuesday so it does make sense, right? :browani:

All you have to do is bring the phone back to the VZW store to have it flashed to the new version of the firmware. (Which, by the way, you could have done for your T720 at any point. My roommate had a OG T720 that was flashed to the 730's firmware, and it's been working great.)

I'll save everyone the drama. He pulled this in PhoneScoop last night. If you have the manual, just post it. Your geocities site doesn't work, also the manual he claims to have is a draft. I've read the manual, you won't learn too much you didn't already know about the phone. It will be on Moto's site shortly anyway. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php?fm=m&ff=475&fi=66934

I'm not sure if you were looking for the model number of the larger battery but it's SNN5615A. Here's a link to the FCC document which mentions it.

And here's a link to the complete list of FCC documents for the change related to the optional larger capacity battery.

In my store here pretty much every phones full retail price is 200 dollars + the non rebated price. So That would be 250 + 70 + 200 = 520. For some reason that seems incredibly high. I don't think the pricing will stay that high for long it should drop pretty quick.

    Quick question.

I have VZW in Milwaukee, WI, where I live. I'm going to be in my hometown of NY for a good chunk of August, very possibly when the phone comes out. Would VZW let me upgrade outside of my local area, or will they make me wait until I get back to Milwaukee? I do have a nationwide plan, if that means anything with all this.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Danny

Any Bluetooth headset will work. There are plenty on the market -- Motorola has two: The HS810 and the HS820.

I know we've already established that the phone is coming out August. I'm looking at the flyer for RadioShack next month, and it is one of the featured phones. This is the first real advertisement I've seen other than news articles and rumors of course. It's going to be out for the price specified 249.99 after a $70 mail in for 2yr new customers or upgrades, and $519.99 retail price. RadioShack will also be selling the Motorola Bluetooth headsets in store $99.99 for the 810 and $79.99 for the 820. Though what bothers me is in the advertisement it does not mention the TransFlash at all or the MP3 capabilities which I would think are big sellers. Also, it says "Snap and send pictures or a 15 second video message". So, I wonder if that means either than get it now can't handle more than 15 seconds cause it would take too long or that the phone cannot take longer clips. Which makes me question again is the TransFlash disabled in the phone?

Is this pricing correct? I had read in other places that VZW will have the phone for $399 full retail. That's a huge difference. I was going to purchase the phone full retail but with this being the price, why wouldn't I cancel my current contract, pay the ETF and start a new one? It would save me some money.

I guarentee that it will be more than $399 retail. When the t720 came out I think it was $450 retail, and this phone is way better.

Can I use this V710 phone with Sprint PCS? Can I get a "unlock" version of this phone?

Have been following this thread for some time now and have been taking the advice of several senior members. Thanks, but I have one question will the V710 be shipped with the TransFlash Memory Card? If so will it be the 128MB or the 64MB and will it ship with the SD Adapter?

Well, by that logic this phone should cost $10,000 because it is much better than the original Moto brick phone which cost approx $1000. Price will be what the market dictates, not compared to the technology of 2 years ago. The T720 was one of the (if not the) first color screen phones.

Its accurate. I work for RadioShack, so I get a sneak peak of the flyers before they are sent out. It's in print, but most people already knew it was going to be this price because earlier there was a post w/ a link to new release from motorola. The 710 was priced at 249.99 after a $70 mail-in and $519.99 for unactivated customers. I would make a copy of the flyer, but I do not have a scanner.
