I just purchased 2 razr's and am on Rogers network in Canada. The one phone works fine but the second phone can only send pictures. It will not receive pics at all. Test messages come in fine. All pics go to the online album but are not getting thru to the phone. Tech support has said to return the phone. Is it possible to be just be an internal setting on the phone or could it really be a dud ? Hate to return it now and not have a phone for a week. :(

I'm not quite sure if we have a hardware or software problem here. If you go to a corporate store for your carrier if they can't get your phone working they should be able to provide a replacement on the spot. I don't know how Rogers handles exchanges, but when I exchanged a phone on Cingular they sent me a phone by 2nd day air, I switched my sim card, then sent the old phone back in the same box. I was never without a phone.

    Good Luck!

    Thanks Jay.

IF I had purchased local they would do that for me as well .But I purchesed it from a west coast Authorized dealer for them, ( better deal than local ;( ) so for now I am SOL. THey said as long as I send it in they will immediately ship the replacement. Motorola is great for exchanges like that at least... I was just hoping maybe it was a software issue that was overlooked and a guru here might know different.

    again.

    thanks...

Maybe there is an issue with the code for pix messaging for your second line.before you send your phone in have customer service take off the pix messaging codes from the account and put them back on.hope this helps.

    Andy.

Not sure what you mean by code. Tech support did have me do a reset on the phone, and they also did a reset on the network for it. Still didn't solve the problem, is this the same or something more ?
I would love to try something else before I send it off tonight.

    thanks.

There has to be a code in your carrier's system that allows for PIX messaging. If something is wrong with that, or if it's input wrong, it might cause a problem. Maybe the Tech already tried that when you say he did a 'reset on the network'.

Breeze, go into your message settings and see if the settings from the Razr that you know is working properly has the same settings as he one that's not working just to be sure, i had a similar problem with one of my Razrs and the settings were different, when i changed them it solved my problem.

Thanks for the help so far guys,. Tony, I already compared the settings and they are exact. I sent the phone back for an exchange and again, "same problem" Grrrrrrr. Tech support on the phone is not much help either. Waiting for a level 2 tech support from Rogers to call me back now, been over 2 days waiting.

Couldn't it be something on Roger's end, meaning on the account for his specific mobile number, and not his handset?

Breeze already posted that there was a reprovision done on their end but it wouldn't hurt to try again....

In order to send and recieve pictures you also need to have the correct server info settings on the Razr something Cingular could never figure out for me when i first got my unlocked unbranded Razr, when i finally manage to figure it out myself i got it to send and recieve pictures as well.

    Finally.

I had all about given up on the Rogers customer support and out of he blue they call me yesterday about my unanswered ticket. Couple cliks, a reset again and all is working finally. Nothing was wrong with the phone at all .Seems it was all on rogers end. Me thinks they really need some hardcore highspeed competition to get them out of their monopoly. Thanks for all who tried to help. This site is very informative.

    Breeze,.

    ps..

    Happy New Year all...
