Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I'm not too familiar with SIM cards, so please excuse the question! Was in Peru a couple of months ago and a friend lent me a Blackberry. I went down to the local grocery store and got a SIM card, popped it in the back of the Blackberry, called up the service provider, and had service in less than 5 minutes.

Now I'm back in the States and I just bought a MotoRazr V3M through Sprint. Before I bought the phone, I asked if it could use a SIM card, and the Sprint rep told me yes. I do a bit of traveling down to Mexico and S. America every now and then, and I want to make sure that I'm able to do the same with the V3M as I was able to with the Blackberry. But when I popped open the back of the V3M, I saw a slot for the microSD card, which came with the phone. Is this where a SIM card would slide into also if I travel abroad? And does anyone know if I need to unlock the phone? I don't want to give up my Sprint service; I just want to be able to go back and forth if I need to.

I have a Razr V3m with verizon as my carrier and I want to get rid of the Verizon V Cast animation that comes up on start-up and shutdown. I have made a lot of the seem edits and unlocked about everything poseted. But I have not seen where I can get rid of this annoying animation. Any help would be appreciated....

OK I have read thru about a hundred post and spent about 8 hours on the phone with Verizon and Motorola, each pointing the finger at each other. I have a V3m that will not sync music. You know the typical driver conflict. I have tried to access some of the fixes and driver here but some do not pull up. I have windows media 11 and windows xp. I have the Motorola Music tools and Vcast Music essentials kit, but nothing seems to work. HELP please!

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

It plays WMAs, not MP3s. I bought a V3I for my wife and figured it would play WMAs. So I loaded it up, nothing would play. So I changed them to MP3s and it worked. It seems Motorola would stick to one way or the other!. Try loading some WMAs--those should play okay on the V3M. Good Luck, Rich

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3m ) post your questions here

Would someone help me with with programing my V3M to dial this entire sequence with the fewest keys? A combo of voice and keys would be okay. I make frequent international calls through AT&T with a AT&T calling card. Sometimes I need to dial while driving, so I want to minimize looking at the phone. Here's what I need to dial:

    8002255288-1-01639000000000 # 80840000000000
    (AT&T) (Press 1) (Intl #) (Calling Card #)

    Thanks,

    Rich

Get SIM card and install it.
    Settings>Connections>USB Settings>USB Drive
Connect phone and you should now see the SIM card as a removable drive.

Move your mp3 ringtones to the SIM card.

Go to Media Player on Phone.
    Sounds
    Options
    Switch to Storage Device
Trans T-Flash (or whatever the card is called on your phone

    Pick song
    Select
    Options
    Copy
    Phone

NOTE: You can also hit 0 to mark more than one song at once as your navigate the list and then copy them all to the phone at one time.

    Go back to Media Gallery
    Sounds
    Options
    Switch to Storage Device
    Phone

    Pick Song
    Options
    Apply as Ringtone

    Viola
    No special software necessary.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    Hi guys,

I am new here and was looking for some advice. I just got US Cellular V3m, installed MPT and everytime I am trying to sync the phone with Outlook (I am running 2007 version) it causes the debugger to start. The rest of MPT works fine, though...
I have tried few times to install and uninstall MTP but result is still the same.
I would appreciate some advice on that - syncing my phone was the main thing I needed:(

P.S. I am running Windows XP home SP 2 and MPT 4.0.4 version

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I have a Verizon V3m that I have been using to add ringtones and picture to and from my pc (using the reader on my printer, and yes, I formatted it before I used it). I dropped it a few times, but nothing major because both LCD screens work (although I think the connection gets loose and the screens blank out sometimes).

Anyways, one day my phone freezes while closed and I discover it has the black background with the verizon logo when i open the phone. I try to turn it off, but it doesn't work, so I take out the battery and try turning it on again. This time it turns on, but freezes at the same black screen w/ the verizon logo. Next, I try taking out the SD card and turning it on. Now, it works perfectly fine.

I don't exactly know what happened, but my (good) ringtones are stuck on the SD card, and every time I try to put it back in my phone, it just freezes.

(I did check online, and someone mentioned it was a design flaw, so I don't know.)

Sorry for the long post. I really hope this problem can be fixed...

EDIT: Also, I should mention that I have not flashed or modded my phone in any way, and I have had my phone for about a year.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Just wanted to tell all you razr users out there what happened to me. My razr got washed, yep, forgot to take it out of my pocket before putting the pants in the laundry basket. I didn't try turning it on but took off the back panel to verify that the moisture tags were indeed red. I had read on hacktherazr.com that a possible solution was to soak the phone in alchohol like denatured alchohol and let it stand for 3 days afterwards so the alchohol would evaporate any water in the phone. I figured what could I lose, the phone already having been subjected to water, laundry soap and rinse. After 3 day I plugged in the charger, the phone is still off at this point, and low and behold it worked! After a few nerve racking seconds the charge indicator showed, after that I turned on the phone and everything was back to normal. Hope this helps others out there.

I appreciate thehelp and info you guys give here. I have now got my Razr v3m working with Multimedia Studio, (kind of).
I can download an image from my PC to my phone with no problem. The problem I am having is with making and downloading a ringtone. I always get the bow in the upper left corner showing a file transfer but then a box in the center of the screen pops up with "ERROR" Process Failed! This also happens with the sample ringtones. What am I doing wrong?? Can someone help with my problem, Thanks.

Does anyone know if this will work on Verizon's newer V3m phones with the 24.1_01.19.07 firmware? Or would I be wasting my money on it?

If you are sure you did not exposed your phone to any liquids or humidity call Sprint and have them re-program your phone.

When I go into the photos on my v9m it sometimes does that too, but when it does it, it will shut itself off and comes back on ok. I don't know why but it does it.
