If Verizon has service there then yes, you can use the phone there.

I don't know what it could be, but I wonder, why did you say when you get home and you try to use a "normal outlet" why do you call it a "normal" outlet? Was there something abnormal about the outlet in the hotel?

    This the correct seem:

Enable scrolling through missed calls with flip closed

    2742, Bytes: 0000, Offset 0C, check bit 1

However that never worked for me, and someone confirmed that it's correct so I think it might conflict with another seem, possibly.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

thanks polycat for the reply. that seem edit has been enabled on my phone from verizon when i purchased the phone. i actually tried turning on a couple of the bits on the same offset (000c) hoping that i could find it but had no luck. hopefully someone can help us out because this feature is very useful and i know it works for other razrs without the verizon ui.

    thanks again.

Thanks for the reply. No, there was nothing abnormal about the outlet in the hotel, but I thought there might be some distinction that I didn't know about. It's frustrating that my phone won't charge normally. I usually have to take out the battery, unplug the charger, and try charging several times before it begins to charge. I don't know if Verizon would be of any help if I were to go to them

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I seem to have encountered yet another problem with my V3m. I fully charged my phone last night, and when I woke up this morning (about 7 hours later), the phone was completely dead because the battery ran out. This quick draining of the battery has been happening the past day and a half, and I don't know what the problem is because I haven't even used the phone except making two calls.

I spoke with someone at the Verizon store yesterday, and they said that it's "normal" for the battery to last only about 8 hours or so (I rarely used my phone though) and that the battery tends to die around the one year mark. He suggested that I buy a new battery for the Razr. This all seems a little odd to me, so does anyone know what the deal with this is? Perhaps it's related to the recent "unauthorized charger" messages I've been getting? All I know is that I am becoming more and more frustrated with this phone!

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I have a krazr, and windows vista. I found it difficult to get the music to transfer to my phone, so I just bought a memory card, and popped the card into my computer and transferred the music that way. Don't know about the razr phones, but mine only has 15mb of memory without the card, so the mp3 player is a waste without the memory card. My next challenge is to see if I can get my music to play as my ringtones, so I don't have to keep shelling out money to verizon.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I have a new v3m. My problem is that I am unable to make selections from voice menus during calls. For example, when i go to voice mail it asks me to press 1 for english or 2 for spanish. I push 1, but it doesn't register. It just pauses for a while, like it's still waiting for me to make a selection, and then repeats. Anyone know how to fix this? I have another identical phone that works just fine.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Don't know if it is different by provider, but I just copied MP3s directly to the microSD card and it displayed them. The audio files received on the phone usually go to the "\motorola\shared\audio" folder on the card. Putting them in the folder might make them easier to access, but to use them as rigntones just go to the media folder, choose Sounds, scroll to the song and press the Options button and Apply as Ringtone.

Haven't tried WMA, but MP3 and MID work without any effort at all. and other than the Playlist editor everything is pretty straight forward.

Motorola RAZR v3m... loading music with a Vista PC

OK I give up.. I have tried drivers that won't load because of Vista.
(Are there updated drivers and software available?

I have loaded the music on the 2G SD card but the phone doesn't see the music. It sees the data but doesn't recognize it as music.
(Do I need to format it differently when I rip it? or do I need to point the phone at it?

I loaded Motorola Phone Tools but it only works for addresses and the calendar.
(Did I only get a Lite version?)

    BTW, I am on Verizon

Thanx, in advance for your help and insights,

    Michael

Re: Motorola RAZR v3m... loading music with a Vista PC

I've heard of many people getting their phones connected on Vista so the right drivers are out there. Check out the drivers at Hack the Razr! and see if they work for you.

Is the music you're loading on your TF card in mp3 or wma format? It has to be in wma format to work. Also, the best way to get wma music on the card is to sync with windows media player through your phone. Even if your music is in the correct format on the card it might still not work because of protection issues. Syncing with WMP fixes all protection issues and other probs that might make the music not work on your phone. Also, if your music is in mp3 it converts during transfer so you don't have to manually convert your mp3's to wma on your comp before transferring. Saves a lot of space.

You need to do a seem edit in order to get MPT to do anything but address book and calendar. If you've never done a seem edit you might want to check out the guides section at the link I posted.

Also, I swear I saw someone post that the v3m now has firmware on it able to handle a 2 gig card, but when asked to provide more info I tried to find that post again and couldn't find it so I can't prove that I didn't just make that up in my mind. So I'll say, I've only ever heard one person maybe once say that Verizon has a new f/w that makes 2 gig cards readable. However, since only one person has ever maybe said this, it's possible that it's not true and 2 gig cards don't work yet. Therefore your phone will only be able to recognize data on 1 gig of the 2 gig card. But I'd love to be proven wrong and given more info about a possible f/w update that allows 2 gig cards.

Hm, you never quite got to the part where you're having a problem. Your phone is detected as a v3c, then you try to sync, your phone is detected as a v3m, then... I assume something doesn't work or you wouldn't have a problem. Is it that you can't sync?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I give up, I'm about to go beat down some verizon wireless employees if I can't get any help here...

I bought the music essentials kit, it's not working. I tried doing all this...

Steps to Configure Windows Media Player 10 Sync with V3m:
    1) Download and install this program: http://www.bvrp.com/Customers/Motorola/DriverTool.zip
This program will uninstall any old Motorola drivers, and install the appropriate drivers for your phone to connect to Windows Media Player.
    2) Turn your phone off and plug it into the computer
3)Wait for the phone to be recognized as a modem by your computer - a box should pop up informing you that "Motorola USB modem" has been attached
    4) Turn your phone on
5)In your phone, go to Menu....Get It Now Menu....Get Tunes and Tones...Sync Music
    6) Windows should recognize your phone as an MTP device, and ask you if you want to open Windows Media Player
    7) You should now be able to sync files in Windows Media Player, just like with a regular device

and it's still not working... Every time I try to sync my phone with my PC, i get a message on my phone saying something about a connection failure... Any ideas?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

You might need the mtpfix file to get WMP to connect. You can find it at Hack the Razr! in the downloads section. Run the drivertool and then run the MTP Fix and then plug in the phone and do everything you listed and that might help.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I finally got my phone to sync with WM10. I moved an album into the sync list. Click sync, it went through the songs and said 100% complete. I push end on my phone to disconnect.

then go to my music on the phone and there is nothing.

The phone can see the card, i just cant find/play the music that is on there.

Am I missing something? I have been through hundreds of posts and dont see this problem addressed.

    Verizon V3M is my phone.

Hello All great members of this forum....
I'm Pradeep from India and a new owner of Motorazr V3M CDMA provided by Reliance Communications in India.

Good to have this handset as earlier I had a Nokia handset.

To start off, I just have a small query... The MPT tools I have do not seem to show any icons for Music or to that matter any multimedia. Can somebody ps help me out with this ?

    Thanks in advance....

I have a Verizon V3c that I flashed to Alltel. Unfortunately, our family had to do some number switching, and Verizon says to do a *228 update. I'm currently under the impression that this is extremely unadvisable. Is there any way to accomplish this, or to revert to the VZW firmware?

We're all curious about this. Did you do the software update at the Verizon store or using the *228 service? How did you learn that a software update would allow the phone to fully access a 2 GB microSD card?

The .ran files are the stupid little animations that you can send to someone in a text message. I have not deleted mine yet, but I am tempted to.

BTW I have deleted all of the other graphics that came with my Verizon V3m, including shine.gif, with the exception of customer_opening.gif and customer_closing.gif. These are the startup and shutdown animations. Since I have just deactivated the shutdown animation (load seem 2742, bytes 0000, bit 0 null) I may delete customer_closing.gif. But right now I need to go to bed... I have to get up for work in three hours!

I have the exact same problem with my USCC v3m and have searched forum after forum after forum for an answer or fix or something to this problem. Have you had any luck yet? I too FINALLY just got WMP10 to recognize and sync with my v3m (after 7 straight days of trying everything) and now after the sync, I can't find the flipping files on the phone or the card. Let me know if you've found or find a fix and I'll be happy to do the same..
    Thanks.
