The sync this is only going to be in the new verisions of wmp, 10 or 11, and of course others in the future. If none of them run... I'd find a friends comp who has it and do it through theirs. Don't think you can do it with such an old operating system.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Ok, please help me. I am a total noob and I am frustrated because my computer won't recognize my razer (version v3c). I have been trying to read the other posts, but I'm having a little trouble. Is there any free way for my computer to recognise the razer and, even better, is there a way that I can transfer my songs FROM my phone onto my computer?

Yes to both. What have you done so far? I assume you have a cable, otherwise you wouldn't even be at this step. Did you download the drivers? Are you trying to run any programs to connect to the phone?

You may want to try www.hacktherazr.com. In the guides section just go to getting started and it should help you.

All I have done is, with the cable, connect the phone to the computer.

What kind of error messages are you getting? You didn't mention if you downloaded the drivers and stuff.

You should read up at www.hacktherazr.com. It's VERY helpful, I wish I had found it when I was where you are now.

Sorry, I dont really know what I am doing. I tried going to that website you gave me, but when I tried to download something in theguide it said that it wasn't compatible with windows xp. Other than that I have not downloaded or tried to download anything, though I have looked.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Okay, well don't give up! What are you trying to download? You still haven't answered my question about the drivers. Have you successfully downloaded any drivers? What did you download that said it wasn't compatible with windows xp? All of the stuff from there is, so I don't know why you got that error message. Keep reading the guide to get an idea for what you're trying to do.

EDIT: I see what you're talking about with not being compatible. Do you not have service pack 2? If not, you should install it. You may not have to, I think I've heard of people doing hacks without even having xp, so you can try, but having service pack 2 is probably the best.

"Note: For Windows XP users, these drivers and following programs will not work at all unless you have Service Pack 2. It has been reported that you may be able to get most of this stuff to work on Windows Vista and possibly Windows 2000. It is possible to do certain things with the mac, and documented information will be coming soon."

Read the whooole thing. Cause it says it MIGHT not be compatible and things might still work.

I dont think I have downloaded any drivers... should I have had a CD or something included with the phone (if that is what you are asking)? Also, I don't have that pack 2

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

You need drivers. They don't come with the phone. Honestly, even if you got a cd it would probably not work, as the drivers supposedly come with the music essentials kit but they don't work. You need to have drivers. You know when you get anything new and you want to get it working with your comp, your comp has to install drivers to get it to work. Your problem is you don't have these, so your comp won't recognize your phone.

Ignore the service pack 2 thing. Just follow the start here guide on hacktherazr.com and download drivers and follow the steps.

Thanks so much for your information. One question more. I went to their site but does this come with new themes for our phone? I think it only offers themes for the Sony.

Tried calling them but no answer. :O
    Thanks!

Verizon V3M, with a 2GB TF. All connected and seemed, using MPT 4.0.

Can't transfer .3gp files longer than 2 minutes. Under 2 min, works great. Over 2 min, no go.

Also tried copying directly to MMC (transflash) in MPT 4.0

When file over 2 min - Error messages in multimedia studio:

"Request denied by phone (Forbidden (0x43))"

Tried in video studio - Error message:

    "Process failed"

I know it works, just can't understand why I'm limited to under 2 min. Any ideas?

    Hey,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of the welcome animation that comes on when you turn on and off the phone. My provider is alltel.
    Thanks

This has been becoming a recurring problem, but the Verizon V3m can NOT accept a 2gb card. It will SEE the correct space, but it will never ACCESS 2 gb. The phone can only pull 1gb of storage. Its right in the phone's documentation. I hope it isnt Verizon that is recommending this card with this phone. The only Verizon phone that uses a 2gb card is the Chocolate phone.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

You cant get rid of it, but u can change it...

If you havent done so already, download BitPim.

Open bitpim, make sure View -> View Filesystem is checked

    go to .../Motorola/shared/picture

Look for two files named customer_opening.gif and customer_closing.gif, these are the two files that need to be replaced to change the animations.

Note: Replacement Gif animations must be sized to 176 X 220. Files larger than 320k don't seem to work as replacement animations.

Right click and save the customer_closing.gif and the customer_opening.gif (in case you ever want to go back)

overwrite each .gif with your new files (do by right clicking and selecting Overwrite)

    Restart your phone.

    Question:

I have a Motorola Bluetooth wireless headset adapter that doesn't seem to work very well- I have reason to believe it's firmware on my Verizon V3m phone but it's more of a hunch than fact.

Would anyone happen to know about this?

    Thanks,

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Thanks for the input cincy, i can totally understand that it can't access the full 2gb, thanks for that tidbit of info. Kind of stinks, but i guess i have to accept it.

But these .3gp files that are over two minutes and will not transfer are 12.2 mb, and I know the phone can access that much space, and i know there's definitely room for them.

any other input, redirection or info would be appreciated, thanks again!

Try updating MPT from version 4.0 to version 4.21a or 4.36. If that doesnt work, you can try using BitPim to do this.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hello everyone...I am new to the forum and have been reading a lot today on Superbowl Sunday.

I have a Verizon Razr V3C and I have a older version on Motorola Mobile phone tools that won't reconize my phone. I am guessing I need a updated version? My version is 3.11H

I have also been reading that the newer Razr V3M has the multimedia function turned off from Verizon and needs to be turned back on by changing some of the programming. I am wondering if this needs to be changed with my V3C as well?

I have the drivers that allow me to charge my phone through my USB cable and I also have BITPM installed. With Bitpm I can take pictures and sounds off my phone but for some reason it will ONLY allow me to transfer pictures to my phone and when I do all i get is a box with a X. In the picture properties it shows the KB for the picture but says the resolution is 0 X 0. Any help you guys can give would be awesome. The main reason I even wanted to us Mobile tools or Bitpm was to remove All the stuff off of my phone in order to but the newer V3M or Km1.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Ok well I updated my MPT to the latest version (it won't update anymore) but now it won't reconize my phone as a modem. When I get to the box that says choose modem the Motorola modem isn't there. I have changed both the Multimedia and file transfer seems and when I plug in my usb cable the phone charges. Also when I use Bitpm the program says the phone is detected on com 3 but in the MPT there is only a option for com1 and com2. I know there is something I am missing.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Not a question here, just a comment about the EXTREMELY buggy Verizon firmware.

I haven't had my RAZR V3M for a long time, and quite honestly haven't done much with the phone. Did the seem edits to enable MPT, did the google proxy internet config.... that's about it. I DID install the trial version of VzW navigator. Pretty cool, very useful. However....

These are the glitches I have noticed, and I don't really play with the phone that much:

    1. I have power on (automatic security) set on my phone. Sometimes it asks for an unlock code, sometimes it just goes to an unlocked state (about 50/50). So much for security.
    2. I did play with video one night. Took 3 15 second video's (didn't do the edit to enable longer ones yet - but I will). The 4th video said something like "can't do it" or something equally descriptive of the problem. I do have a 1GB chip in the phone and have redirected the graphics to this flash chip.
    3. Was unable to access the Pix/Flix or the camera after this. Pressing the left cursor key or going to the menu and selecting whatever the menu option is to get to that simply got no response. Also no response pressing the camera button. Powered on/off, removed battery... no help.
    4. Last night uninstalled VzW navigator. Was again able to get to Pix/Flix after that.
    5. Caller ID is rare. The last phone I had was a Samsung something, also with Verizon... no frills, basic phone. NEVER had a call come in without caller ID.
    6. Usually I am unable to even answer a call. I do not have "flip to answer" set. Tried the in-call-setup multi-key setting both on and off. Doesn't matter what button you push on either setting, the phone will not answer the call. Sometimes hitting the send key twice will result in a "call failed" message on the phone. Call log always shows it as a received call, 0:00 duration. Every 10th time hitting the send key will actually answer a call.
    7. Bluetooth problems. Bought a Targus bluetooth dongle for the PC and was initially able to use MPT with it, both with my W2K laptop and my XP desktop. Now I always get "device rejected the connect request" error. This is probably due to my own ignorance about bluetooth connections, but it is frustrating nonetheless.
    8. Phone seems to go into a software loop sometimes. No response to any button for maybe 10 seconds or more. The only solution to this is a power cycle... maybe 2 or 3 power cycles.

I'm sure there are other glitches that don't come to mind right now - and I have only had this phone for about a month. The inability to answer a call is pretty major. It's a phone right?

As I said, removing the navigator app seems to have cleared some of these problems up. I hoped that it would clear everything up, but I noticed that incoming calls today still had no caller ID - some do, some don't.

Has anyone else had similar problems with the VzW firmware? I would flash the damn thing with better firmware, but it is paid for by my employer and that raises legal issues that I just don't want to deal with.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I can comfortably say I have NOT had the problems you encountered. I never had vz nav, but I think I took several 15 second video clips no problem. Caller ID always worked for me, and I never had an issue with answering the call (I don't enable flip to answer). I don't think you should flash the phone, I think you should TAKE IT BACK! Take it in and tell them what's going on. Well, undo the edits you made and then take it in, because, if anything, not being able to answer a phone call is covered under the warranty. They should have no issues with replacing it (as long as they can't tell you've done seem edits and such).

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I secnd that. I think you need to bring your phone back to verizon as your phone has a defect. Being on these forums since last summe,r this is the first I have heard of this, so dont generalize this to all razr's. Bring it back (since it is only 1 month old) and get a new one, and all your probs will go away.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    HELP!!!

    1. i was trying to do some seem editing and i have run in to some issues. I was trying to do the vib+ring edit as well as the moto start up shut down animations. that all seemed ok. at first i could go into ring styles and choose "vib then ring" and then click on "vib then ring detail" to mess with ringers and such. im not sure what happened but when i try to click on the detail for that or for "master volume or any of the other ring styles, except vibrate only, it sends me to the previous menu. I cannot access that ring style menu anymore.

    2. also i tried to edit the verizon wireless banner on the homescreen with the 296a seem edit. I was able to do that successfully but when i closed my phone the external lcd screen goes black and i cannot use and of the buttons when its closed. after the backlight timer goes off the external lcd comes on dimmed but if i push any buttons it goes black again. i reloaded the original 296a seem and everything went back to normal but that stupid Verizon logo is back too of course. am i doing something wrong with this?

i tried to just reload my original 2742 and 296a seem edits but that did not help with the ring style detail issue. has anyone had this problem or know what i may have done to cause this or what i can undo?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Did you delete any stock ringtones? If you did, and they're set as anything in any of the ring styles, that'll lock up your ring styles menu, like what you are describing. You need to load those back on.

As for the verizon banner, you need to be careful that you only change the letters starting with v in verizon and ending with s in wireless, nothing before, nothing after. I'm not sure if changing too much stuff could cause what you're experiencing, but it's something to double check. Even if you didn't purposely change something, it's completely possible that something got clicked wrong when you were changing and you weren't aware. I noticed when you click way far to the right of the bit checkboxes, it'll still check or uncheck them. I'd try redoing the seem, but being VERY VERY careful, very intentional in all of your actions, and don't do any extra clicks anywhere until you've loaded it back onto the phone.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

actually i did try to delete some of the stock ringtones with p2k commander but when i turned the phone of and back on and opened p2k back up there were all still there so i thought that i would not need to load them back to the phone to undo it. I just tried to copy the songs back to the phone even though it said they were still already there. i powered my phone off and on and it doesnt seem to have made a difference. still cant access the ring style detail menu.
