Yes, I think the EMU should be stereo. If it isnt, that would explain it. If you have everything plugged in fully, and u hear it in mono, try pulling the headphones jack out SLIGHTLY and u should hear it kick back and forth between stereo and mono. So fidgiting with it might help it sound in stereo.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Ok I have the Sprint Razr. From these post I believe for me to listen to MP3 I need a Motorola Mini USB to 3.5mm Headset Adapter. I found one (SYN1504) at
http://www.cellphonemall.net/wireless/store/accessorydetail.asp?id=55180&phoneid=449. Is this what I need? Is there a better place to get one?

I'm assuming when I get the adapter then my typical stereo headset will plug in.
Then from reading the post the only thing I have to worry about is it eats into the battery life.

    mrchmckc,

    http://www.emtcompany.com/products/adapters/cnyv3to3-motorola-razr-v3-to-35mm-headphone-adapter.htm

I ordered one of these- mainly to use in my car (why I'm not worried about the non-angled connector). I'll try to keep a post as to how well or NOT well this works.

For $6.00 seems like a inexpensive risk.

Keep us posted on how well your adapter works- I'll do the same on mine.

Also, take a look here- this one looks better than both...

    Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m )

Hello all. I want to start off with a big thank you for providing the information to me on making the V3m (Verizon) charge through my USB ports. That is a life saver and a neat driver.

The question I have is I am trying to make a WAV and/or MIDI file play as a ringtone.
I bought and installed a 1gb card and loaded a MIDI file on it. When I go to ""Get It Now", "Get Tunes & Tones", "Manage Music" and scroll down, I see the MIDI file listed and can play it. This MIDI file has the same green icon with a white music note in it as all of the OEM ringtones but when the softkey OPTIONS is pressed, it does not give me the option to convert or set it as a ringtone. The only choices there are Rename and Move.
Earlier today, I installed a program on the computer that converts WAV files to .qcp files and have converted a WAV to .qcp. That file shows up as well but has an icon that looks like the microphone on David Letterman's desk. It options as Rename and Move too.
Both the .qcp and MIDI files are on the 1gb card.

Can someone help me make these files work as ringtones?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    Not a problem,

You need to do these steps-

    1. Read through this forum on how to unlock your V3M phone by editing the SEEMs.

    2. Purchase a copy of Motorola Phone Tools (MPT).

Do these two steps and you should be able to add ringtones to your phone.

Everything you need to know is inside this thread!

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Well, that was super fast. I see you are in Houston too! I am in the NASA part of Houston.

I have been reading here and there about SEEM and just have not read it with the goal of understanding it. Didnt know I needed the SEEM subject for what I am trying to do till now.
Is the Motorola Phone Tools program the one that I use to actually edit the SEEM?
I have seen several different programs on ePay but didnt know which one I needed. Is there a link you can refer to me for getting the program? Would this by chance be the one offering a 25% discount by using BVRPUS in the discount code section of the checkout? I know I read that earlier but cant find the site or thread now.

    Thanks again for your help.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I ordered Motorola Phone Tools directly from Motorola's website, it's only $30.00 or so..

    http://direct.motorola.com/ens/MPT/MPT_home.asp?country=USA&language=ENS

User "Cincyball" has a step by step post in this thread somewhere on how to properly SEEM edit your phone including where to get all the files.

Look somewhere in the middle of these posts, around post #1300 or so.

If not, send me a PM with your e-mail or better yet, YAHOO messenger name and I'll walk you through it myself.

Let us know if you are successful in your SEEM edits, and please inform me of any steps that may be a little hard to understand.

Don't forget to thank Cincyball- I got just about all the information from *HIS* posts on how to do a SEEM edit.

Look, I will buy lunch and thank everyone involved for this level of help.:)

Looking at the Phone Tools site, They ask me what model phone I have from a drop down. They list the V3x and V3xV but not the V3m like mine.
Because I am not at all familiar yet with the different model numbers, there has to be something I am missing. Will this software still work with the V3m?
I notice the program is on sale!

Motorola Phone Tools Version 4 works with the V3M - BitPim works with the V3M as well but you need to manually configure it to the V3cm.

Hah! I will be by Hobby Airport (Powell Electrical) tomorrow if you *REALLY* want to buy lunch.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

So I guess Motorola Phone Tools is always version 4 even if they do ask me what phone I have? It looks as though there is a difference in versions because they want to know what phone I have by model number.
    BitPim shouldnt be a problem.

I just realized a while ago that the process actually takes 3 programs to make happen.

How easy is it to actually load ringtones, sound files and images onto the phone once this is done?
You can not load WAV files, right? Only MP3 files for sound?
When you make a ring tone, do you have to convert the sound clip to .qcp format before it will work?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    No conversion is needed really-

To keep files small, I save all of my music as a Media Player 9 "lossless" .wma variable bit rate. Otherwise, I save them as a 128 bit, 44.1 kHz mp3 file.

For ringtones, if you want to use an mp3, you can but I suggest you crop your mp3 file down to 30 to 35 seconds using a wave editor (Nero wave editor or other "free ware" editors you can find on the web).

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

ATMA, here is a little more in depth of working with MPT to get your song cropped into a ringtone using MPT or another editor -> http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/razr-phones/59362-how-cropping-mp3-saving-phone-indiana.html

Ringtones (MPT) - mp3 or midi - 30 seconds +/- (they go into 'audio' folder) <--- can be applied as ringtone
Music (WMP10) - wma only - full songs (they go into 'my_music' folder) <--- can't be applied as ringtone

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Is that Multimedia Studio part of MPT like I think it is? If so, that is cool because I was figuring some sort of other editor would have to be used.
The link you sent where you and Darren talked about clipping files is another good thread.
The links to editors on that thread are nice to know about too.
What formats will that editor in MPT work with?

I have also noticed the SD has all of the folders on it (audio, my_music and more) and am not sure if I put those there somehow or the phone did when the card was installed.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Thats a good question. ALLLLLL of my music is mp3, so when u crop it in MPT liek that guide shows, it will transfer it as a mp3. If u use a wav and crop it and try to send it to phone, i believe u will get an error. if u dont, u probably wont even see it show up on ur phone in the audio/ringtone folder

Yes, the SD card has the same file tree structure. When u format the card IN the phone, the phone puts it on there. It is correct if it looks liek that. When in MPT, u can add pics/ringtones to the card. Just go into MMC1. And put it in the appropriate folder

Keep in mind, any picture being used as a picture id, or any ringtone MUST be on the phones memory. So u will need to move it from card to phone (u can do within the phone) to have it part of your caller id picture, or for ringer id's, etc. Therefore, anything u want to have at your fingertips, but arent using specifically for calls, u can keep on the card until u need it on the phone.

The MPT music editor will only work w/ MP3s. I discovered that yesterday when I went to edit some WMA files and they weren't seen by MPT.

Actually, yea you are right. I was setting up my niece's phone, and I went to her my music folder on her comp, and there was NOOOO music. I said, "I thought u put all of your cd's on here?" She did, but she had it set to import as wma instead of mp3. So she had to re-import all her cd's as mp3 so that MPT would see them in Melody Studio.

Yep, then u will just have to go into the File Transfer Studio (not Melody Studio) and transfer them from Computer (left window pane) to 'audio" folder on thePhone (right window pane). A lot of info to wrap your midn around huh?

    You are not joking!
I just about ordered the MPT last night but decided to get more education before starting my big 1 month download service from them. I sure dont want to be dinking around with it and let the 1 month thing run out then discover I need to download it again.
One thing for sure is that once I DO learn it, I will really know about it.

No, they have the DL service active for 1 month after I buy the product. If I have to DL it again, I have 1 month to do so, otherwise I am in trouble.
They do offer a 2 year for an additional $7 though.

I have a solution for you. Do u have a cd burner? When you download the program initially, it will get saved to your hard drive. You can burn that to a cd if you want to keep a hard copy. Thats what I did. I also have a copy of the .exe on my ipod. So I wouldnt get too worried about the back up.
