Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!

Ok I downloaded the link you gave me, and I have my phone charging from the USB, yeah!

I didn't know where to look on my computer to find the screen you have a shot of, but I assume if I have it charging I did it right??

I went to the site where you can download the other software, and the first step is to choose your phone. I didn't see the v3m model listed? Is there something else I should be looking for??

Ok Cincyball, I have my program all installed. I have been playing with it a bit, but I have a feeling it has way more capablities than I am aware of. Any other tips you can share with me? What all can I do with this program?

Do you know of someplace good that I can download mp3's from?

I really appreciate your help, BTW!!!

It is on page 47 on this thread. A little scary that I remembered which page i supplied this info on.

You should be able to take the headset adapted that came with your phone, get the adpater I referenced in that post, and use a regular set of headphones.

I can sync with my phone to computer, but when I get the songs I get the message

    PLAYER ERROR

    License Acquisition Failed.

What does this mean. I got two other songs from a friends computer and they play just fine. Why do the ones I get from my computer say this? Does it have something to do with copyright?

I bought the Motorola Stereo Headphones (SYN1301B) and really like them. They connect to the Mini USB port, and sound pretty good. They also allow you to receive phone calls if one comes in while playing your music. I found mine on EBay for less than $9.00 with shipping.

Yes, it appears to me that you put songs on that have DRM (Digitial Rights Management) protection. Did you sync them in WMP10? WMP will convert them into the proper .wma format UNLESS they have that DRM protection. My guess is you copied them directly to the card from a card reader? Either way, you can *cough* remove DRM, but that's all I can tell you ;)

Does this set allow stereo listening to music files? From what I read in other posts it appears some headphones are ONLY for calls and some will allow stereo music....

Yes, those will be fine. What u read were about the bluetooth headphones. You can pair bluetooth headphones, but the phone cant send usic via bluetooth. It can however, send it thru a wired set such as that link. Those are OEM as well, nice find RD.

Yep, those headphones work just fine. The 2 pair I ordered for me and the wife's new RAZR V3Ms showed up in the mail yesterday and they work just fine. In fact I think that may even be the same vendor I bought mine from off Ebay.

I used WMP 11 if that makes a difference. And I put them on my phone. I don't have a mini SD card yet. Waiting for it to come in the mail.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hey I have a Sprint V3m. I just tried the method Cincyball gave in the Re: Motorola Phone Tools doesn't work with RAZR V3m? thread to enable the multimedia function. Great help by the way Cincyball. Well, it seems to have worked. There was a slight difference while editing the seem files. I didnt have to enable the bluetooth and usb file transfer.

Now I have a problem. When I try to transfer a mp3 file, Yui.mp3, to the external cards music folder i get an error.
"Request denied by phone(Internal server error (0x50))"

I can still transfer music via the mini sd so its just an inconvenience. I get the same error if i try to drag an image from the MPT Image Studio under the My Phone tab. I did transfer an image via the Image Studio's "transfer to phone" button but I dont know where the image is placed and I cant delete the file.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Yea, I have been noticing the sprint v3m seem is diff like you said, the usb seem is already enabled. The picture u transferred by 'transfer to phone' gets put in the picture folder where all your wallpapers are. can u find it on ur phone now? are u only getting that error in file transfer studio? if u can find the picture on the phone, id like to see if u can 'transfer to phone' using the melody studio for mp3 files. it would go into your audio folder where your ringtones are. im sorry we dont have answers yet. the phone is so new that we are kinda learning as we go. as soon as i get a grasp, i will post a tutorial. its just all the v3m's comin out at once, tough to keep track of it all, haha.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Well, the only directories shown at the root are audio, incamcorder, incamera, mixedmedia, and MMC. Only the MMC directory is 3 directories deep and others only 2 lvls deep, so there arent that many directories to look for but no directories with image files. You think if I used the Erase my contents it would get rid of the image that was transfered? What else would that erase besides the other screensavers if it does do even that?

I did forget to mention I did use the Melody Studio and edited and transfered an mp3 to use as a ringtone. I tried to transfer via drag drop and got an error. Used the button transfer to phone and it worked. I then tried to delete the file by selecting and hitting delete button on keyboard and it gave me an error. I tried deleting from the File Transfer Studio and got an error.
Then I tried the red X button back in the Melody Studio to delete the file and it worked.

I also got a video transfered via Video Studio, but had to delete it from the phone.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

The Sprint V3m does not need ANY seem edits to get the phone working in MPT with the mulit media function.

Furthermore, the seem edit for adding the M to the end of the V3mM id string will cause your OTA "Update Phone SW" to fail.
    http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/razr-phones/59247-sprint-v3m-razr-fails-software-update.html

Check your software version. setting-->Phone Info--version
    I suspect it is 24.2_00.35.00R.
    If so, follow this.
    1) undo the seem edit for adding the M to the end of the id string
    2) settings-->Update Phone SW
    (should put you to 24.2_00.37.00R)
MPT should now work with all functions.

Also, this new software version will get rid of your "internal server error" that you are seeing.

To answer your other question. Your images are being stored in your screensaver directory. I think you can delete them through MPT... Not sure though.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Oh that worked!:D I totally forgot about that function. I first tried it when I got the phone but it stayed at the checking for update screen for a long time and I canceled it and forgot about it.

Yeah, now the program sends images to the incamera folder, but before it sent it somewhere else and I still cant find it. I can only see it on my phone when I try to change the screensaver. The Icons on the thumbnail view for the images I uploaded with the seem change is a folder and the icons without the seem change but with the SW update is a camera. Im guessing those other images are where the screensavers that come with the phone are. Is there a way to get rid of those?

Has anyone tried the Erase MyContent menu item? What does it erase exactly?

Thanks for all your help guys.

You can use a program called BitPim to access the filesystem. Just look for some info how to use it. You can get into the screensaver more than liekly and delete them that way.

    Suggestions for Stereo Output V3m

    Hi everyone,

I also recently picked up a V3m from Verizon and I want to be able to connect an audio jack to my razr phone so I can play my WMA's in my car, on my stereo, and anywhere else I can plug a 3.5mm audio jack.

I own a 2005 Nissan Altima with the stock radio/cd player in it. I could buy a new radio but I would rather not since they tend to get stolen. (I have never owned one that didn't)
I found a company that builds custom devices you can install on your stock radio that gives you auxillary inputs to use with your mp3 players-

    http://www.pac-audio.com/products/productsCatagory.asp?mmSearch=Auxiliary Input

I want to be able to plug my V3M phone into this auxillary input (using a 3.5mm to RCA cable) while in my car since it's much easier than constantly burning CD's or dealing with songs I "DON'T" want to hear on the radio.

I found devices on the internet that connect to the EMU (USB) port and has a 3.5mm (1/8") jack on the other end. Is it true these do not produce stereo sound???

If not, am I going to have to resort to modding my own adapter by chopping up a motorola headphone kit and soldering it to a 1/8" adapter?

    Thanks in advance!

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I need to make this a sticky...if you use the adapter that came with your phone which has a 3/32" headphone jack, you can get a simple adpater that has a 3/32" plug which accepts a 1/8" jack. -> http://www.radioshack.com/product/i...470&cp=&origkw=3/32&kw=3/32&parentPage=search

Once u have that attached to the stock adapter that came with the phone, you can get a 1/8" to 1/8" that will plug into your cars auxillary input.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I should mention that I bought one of those and NO- it does not work.

I only get mono sound (right channel) out of the device. And I have also seen online, actual Motorola adapters that have a mini headphone jack 3.5mm on it and I'm wondering if anyone else owns one of these...hence my post.

:) The post wasn't a TOTAL waste, it does let people know about auxillary inputs for stock stereos. Otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned anything at all!

If my adapter is faulty, I'd love to know that the adapter that comes with the phone should be stereo.

Strange, because mine works flawlessly. Are you sure you didnt purchase the MONO one from radio shack. They sell two that look EXACTLY alike, one is mono, one is stereo. Sorry to hear your doesnt work.

I just pulled out the package for the adapter-

Part 274-373 - Stereo adapter. So the EMU (USB) adapter that comes with the RAZR V3M should be stereo?

I'll see if I can't find the other adapter from my wife's phone just to be sure.

P.S. Cincy, your posts are why my phones are unlocked- I wanted to say thanks.
