Yes,that Toshiba will work fine. MicroSD is MicroSD ;) If it doesnt ork, it would mean that it is a defective card. When you get it, put it in the phone (make sure to really push it in as the first couple times the phone's card slot is firm) and format the card IN the phone so the phone puts the proper file tree structure on the card with all the correct folders.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I've been successful getting every application to run, except for BitPIM. I cannot get BitPIM to recognize my phone. I know "auto-detect" doesn't work so I've manually selected my phone. I guess I'll have to keep searching the forum to find if I missed something.

I've even been successful on a second computer getting connected to my wife and daughters v325. I had to perform a manual selection in MPT to get it to work with the v325.

    Thanks!

In BitPim, set the phone as v3cm. For Comm Port, clikc Browse. Make sure it shows Motorola USB Modem under available ports. If it doesn, unplug ur phone, and plug it back in and hit Refresh. If that doesnt wor, try connectng with your phone off. As soon as it says Motorola USB Modem underavailable ports, u are set to use the file system in bitpim.

    OMG I think I made a HUGE mistake! I hope I didn't thought, but I'm 99% sure I did!

    http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-MiniS...id=1164251641/ref=sr_11_1/103-3246099-1087801

I bought that to use for my phone. Will that work? I don't think it will thought... The instruction guide said MicroSD.

"You can use a removable microSD (transflash) memory card with your phone to store and retrieve multimedia content (such as songs and photos)"

OMG will the one I got work? If it doesn't then I guess I'll have to contact the store and ask them for a trade in or something.

Sorry sailor, but that one won't work :( As small as miniSD is, it is still alomst 2x as big as microSD. See if they can change ur order before shipping. You might be saved with the holiday.

razr v3m sprint--not able to add numbers manually

my razr v3m is for sprint.

out of the box i was able to manually add phone numbers, etc.

once i synched w/ mpt, i could no longer manually add numbers. when i try, the phone simply freezes.

i have changed some seems, which is probably the problem, but i was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. any fixes out there?

i can still manipulate information on the phone via my windows xp pro pc, but i would like to be able to manually add numbers as well.

    any thoughts would be appreciated.

    thanks.

Are you starting MSU (Motorola Software Update) first? This program has to be running in order for P2K to work right.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    SO question:

I heard from here that the Razr V3m only takes up to 1GB microSD card. But I heard from Wiki this:

V3m is a new CDMA version of the RAZR. As an upgrade to the V3c, it features a microSD card slot for up to 2 GB of memory expansion, a longer lasting battery, and music playing capabilities. The V3m presently comes in silver and pink, although the original release as well as models currently availabel on the Sprint CDMA network featured the gunmetal gray color of the V3c. This is not available in the UK, although the V3x is on sale there.

Which is true? I know if I get the 2 GB one and if it doesn't work i'll only use 1 GB of it, but if it does 2 GB :)

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Every person I have talked to has said that yes the phone accepts a 2gb card, but it only accesses 1 gb of it. If you add up to 1gb and use the card, u will see all the files u put on. anythign from there and after (1gb - 2gb) does not show up as accessible. The phones shows 2 gb of space but only reads 1gb. I have never tried, just repeating what i have read over at HoFo.

My current hardware is the Verizon RAZR V3M.

    Is there a bluetooth upgrade/seem/flash?

I just got this great headset HS850. But even though it "pairs" with my phone and will work as a headset for the phone...

I can't get the "headphones" part to play stereo bluetooth A2DP music to work.

Also, my music time cuts through my battery life like a razor:)

    Any Ideas?:)

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hey Buzz, Welcome to WA. The V3m doesnt have the ability to play music via bluetooth. That bluetooth profile is called A2DP, and there is no option for this, and there is no flash/upgrade/etc to enable this... especially on Verizon.

As for the battery, yes the music will cut it down by a lot. Its not an ipod, haha. The verizon user interface is just horrendous on battery life. Verizon has really killed this phone from what it could be/ really is on alltel.

Hi - Another new guy here - It took me a while to get through this thread - WOW!!!

Anyways, I'm having the same issues, trying to get my phone to play music files as ringtones.. I have quite a bit to try though, thanks to you guys!!

Anyways, one thing I haven't seen mentioned here... 3-4X/Day my phone freezes up, and it's always when I'm trying to do something. It'll completely freeze for 30-45 seconds, and when it comes back to life, it'll perform all of the keystrokes I did in that time..

I've updated to the latest software, and that didn't help..

    Any ideas???

    Hey Cincyball,

Been reading your posts for a while now. So you flashed to ALLTEL in the end?

Are you still able to use your Vzn service and get all the above mentioned functions?

Yes, I went to Alltel. I use it flawlessly on Verizon. Text message, MMS, GIN all work just as they did before. I guess Vcast audio doesnt work? I dont know as I dont subscribe. Here is a tutorial that lays everything out -> http://wiki.howardforums.com/index.php/Motorola_V3c_Tutorial:_Flashing_to_Alltel_User_Interface. There are many pros and cons, but this is the holy grail to flashing. I used no other info. Im not sure what "all the above mentioned functions" are that u are referring to. It doesnt ebale the bluetooth audio if thats what u meant. It does however enable OBEX and OPP for bluetooth.

If u are referring to the v3m, the Verizon Interface on the v3m is notoriously sluggish. That lag of 30 seconds seems a little extreme. You might want to get it checked out before modding anything.

When u say u updated to the latest software, what do you mean?

    Ringtones Vs Music

re: ringtones-they must be in mp3 format. I suggest cutting them with an audio editor like Audacity from sourceforge.net. and if you use bitpim they go in the ringtones folder (I use MPT) so I don't remember bitpim that well

music-must be in WMA format and go in my_music folder.

The first time I loaded music onto my phone's card i used the cable and it took forever. For ~$8 I bought a MICRO SD usb reader online (it also reads MINI SD). Its a SANDISK so I'm not worried about the quality.

You have to make sure of 2 things . The files are WMA as mentioned. (I googled for an mp3 to wma convertor) also the files can't be longer than 30 characters or have any spaces.

To fix this I used the BULK RENAME UTILITY. The phone reads the MP3 Tag so make sure your tags are input properly. When I put the USB MICRO SD reader into the computer the upload when smooth as a smoothie and quickly. I then popped my MICRO SD card into the slot in the phone and turned it back on an d Wallah! it worked no problems.

sorry I can't help out with the freezing up problem you are having.:(

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    1) No one has tried to my knowledge. But even if it worked, I think the only thing that would work would be calls. No text messages. Sprints data services are completely different. You do know flashing to Alltel would render the transflash card useless right?

    2) Yes, flashing would be the only way to get Moto UI. But see above

    3) If you flashed, right now there is no way to revert back. not until Sprint releases a firmware upgrade that is leaked to the general public.

For now, your phone has Java, which makes a lot of the users here jealous as you can run free games. There might be a seem edit somewhere to re-enable some bluetooth functionality, but again, to my knowledge, i dont believe anyone has done it. Id leave it be for now.

Hi, you can go into Settings -> Security -> Restrict Calls -> Password should be last 4 digits of # -> Incoming Calls -> Then pick whatever seems best, like Contacts Only. SO no one outside your contacts can call u. I dont believe there is a way to block a specific # from calling. You could assign that number as silent if u just dont wanna hear it ring when it calls. Hope that helped.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I am a SUPER newbie here, so please be patient with me!
I just got my Razr v3m yesterday from Alltel. My last phone was a v 262, which of course did nothing, so I am starting out clueless.

I was wondering if someone could share a link with me (or help me learn) how exactly to use the features on my phone and some of the stuff it can do. Like a Razr for dummies type of thing???

I have been browsing through posts, and a lot of it is like speaking another language, in my eyes.

I want to be able to use the MP3 features on the phone, and also would like to learn how to get new ringtones without having to pay $2.99 a pop.

I have a usb cord that came with my digital camera that fits into the phone. As long as it fits, it will work???

I have read about software that you need, and have seen some up on ebay. I am assuming that most of the software there is illegally copied?? I want to make sure to get the right thing. Is there somewhere I can pay to download it. (That is if the cord I have is going to work). Once I get the software, my phone will be ready to get file transfers?? I saw a really long thread where someone was explaining all this stuff they had to do with the phone first (or maybe theirs was a different phone)?

Any help is appreciated, and again I apologize for being such a dummy on the subject!

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Angi, I can try. Its tough explaining it. My niece just got a razr, and i was going to try and explain it to her. I decided to just do it myself so she wouldnt mess it up. It takes me an hour to get everything lined up. So I hope you havea ton of patience here... with that being said:

I will tell u what u are searching for and what each do:

    1) DriverTool4.21a - Puts the drivers on your computer so u can use the usb cable. Make sure u are pluging ur usb cord into the back of ur comp. Dont use a front port. If it doesnt work, try plugging in ur phone with it off. You need to get this step done first. It is correct when it says charging on your phone. See the attached screen shot for how it should look in Device Manager (see Motorola USB Modem). I attached the driver file so u dont have to search for it.

    2) Get Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) - This will let u transfer all ur own ringtones/pictures for free. The program does cost money. Here is a link to where you can get it -> http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/razr-phones/58857-where-can-i-download-mpt-4-a.html

As far as I know, Alltel does not cripple their phone features like Verizon does. Most of what u read here is how us Verizon users need to hack our phone so we can do these things. Yours should be allset to go out of the box. Now it just hit the market, so it might be different, but I doubt it.
