    Hey Lloyd,

    There are 2 seem edits:

    1. Seem 2742, Record 1, Bytes 0, Offset 006a, Bit 0 - Check to ON (enables USB data transfer in MPT)
    2. Seem 2827, Record 5, Bytes 22, Offset 0006, Check Bits 0-2-3-6, Uncheck Bits 1-4-5-7 (This turns the V3m to V3mM - where the last M turns on auto detection as V3mM and enables the MulltiMedia function of MPT)

    Thanks Cincy.

How about VZW Browser modifications? I would love to use their menu tree for sites of my choosing. I think its quicker and easier than the favorites system they provide.

    LCD External Display

How come my Sprint RAZR v3m doesn't have an external display like the time? Mine is just completely black. It shows nothing. Everyone has it except me.

My phone is always on, but there's never an external LCD display. What's wrong with it? How do I change the settings? Please help.

When u close your phone, can u see anything on the display? Or is it black right away? Can you push anyone of the side buttons to get the display to light up? If it is never on, go into settings menu and look for backlight options and play with those settings. There may be a possibility your phone is defective.

Sorry, but the red bars are there permanently. There are some themes u can put on ur phone, but it is rather complicated, but it doesnt change the red bars on top and bottom. They are permanent :(

It depends what provider they have. If kbailey has verizon, yes there is pink. If its sprint, i think itsjust gray and red for now.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

When I close the phone, I see the time display for just a few seconds & then it turns black. I can get the display to light up with the side buttons. It's just that I thought there would always be an external display no matter if the phone is closed or open...

Okay, I did what you said & it worked! I just changed the backlight display settings to "Always on" instead of 30 seconds. Thanks for your help Cincyball! :)

No problem, just beware that it will drain your battery much faster. Thats why they have it set to go black, it preserves yor battery to make it last a little longer in between charges. Personal preference however

Has your phone been acting up since deleting it? Or do u just wanna put it back on there so its there? I can post mine, but I have flashed to Alltel f/w. SO i dont know if it will help. Im not sure if its specific to each phone or not. I have attached mine anyways if u are desparate.

    Is my phone defective??

I set my phone to vibrate, but my boyfriend had called me & the ringer went off! What was that all about? Should I go trade it in for a new phone? Also, I've had a problem accessing my voicemail. I get new v-mail messages when no one has even called me! Lol. And my phone's area code is different from my normal one -- I have a 561 instead of a 562 area code. Should I get this all checked out? I've only had my phone for about a week now...

Yes, I set it on vibrate (its says "vibrate" on the screen). But when my bf called, my ringtone (a song) set off. I thought that was kind of odd. That was the first time something weird happened.

    Welcome
The Latest version of MPT is 4.36c, in order to get the multimedia function to work is by doing SEEM edits. Follow the link below, it has step by step instructions for the RAZR.

    http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php
It also has links to get the software needed to do the editing.

Phone set to vibrate but ringer goes off?!

When I set my phone to vibrate, the ringer still goes off & I hear my ringtone (song)! What the heck is that all about? :loony: Does anybody know how to change the settings for this? I don't wanna be sitting in class & then suddenly, my phone goes off when it's supposed to be on vibrate. Lol. That'll be totally embarrassing, if ya know what I mean. Haha.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Seem editing is the process of modifying the memory of your phone to enable new features. "Seems" are simply bits of your phones memory that are either set to on or off, and depending on the function, will activate or deactivate a certain phone feature. In some instances, multiple seems will have to be edited in order to enable a feature. In the case of multiple seems, this will be indicated like this: Part 1/2

Please note that improperly editing seems can cause your phone to become inoperable. The information provided on this page is to be used at your own discretion, and no warranties of any kind are given. Be aware that improper seem editing can and will brick your phone. Verify all seem information before editing.
The following is step by step instructions on how to seem edit your phone using free software.

Step 1: Download and install three programs
    1) DriverTool: http://www.bvrp.com/Customers/Motorola/DriverTool.zip
    2) Motorola Software Update (MSU): https://rsd.motorola.com/download/Motorola_Software_Update.exe
    3) P2k Seem Editor: http://mark.cdmaforums.com/Files/P2KSeem4V710.zip

    Step 2:
    1) Restart your computer to make sure nothing is running the background that can crash during the seem edit process.
    2) Once restarted, run Drivertool(simply dbl click).
(NOTE:) if DriverTools prompts to install driver DO THIS >
For ea. driver prompt - a)click continue for driver verify popup ea. time
b)Found New Hardware Wizard > click No > Next
c)Click Install from a specific location > Next
d)Click Don't search-I will choose the driver to install
    e)Found New Hardware > Next > Finish.
    3) Then install and run Motorola Software Update - a number of different drivers will be installed before MSU is ready(repeat same driver process above ea.time). Most likely, once MSU is installed, it will tell you that your phone software is up-to-date. Leave MSU open - it puts your phone into the necessary state for the seem editor to run.
    4) Run P2kseem.exe. This program will allow you to edit seems on your phone.
Look in the lower left corner to see "connected".

    Step 3: Editing the seems
    1) In P2kseem, you will see a box at the bottom right that says: Load: Seem:
    2) Enter 2742 in the Load: Seem: box, and enter 0000 in the bytes window. Then click "Load from Phone"
    3) In the upper left white window, a bunch of numbers will appear. When you click on a number, a series of 8 bits below will show up, and depending on which seem you are at, they will either be checked or not.
    4) In P2k commander, when you are at a seem that is known for the V3m, like the activation of USB file transfer, you will see the below in "Selected Bytes". Check the box next to the byte in order to activate that seem.
    5) In order to save changes to the phone, click save to phone in the bottom right.
    6) Disconnect the cable, restart your phone, and your new features will be activated.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Are you opening MSU first and confirming that it has established a connection with your phone before you are opening P2k? I attached a zip file to my first message with both the original and edited SEEM files. Once you see that P2k shows connected, in the box named Seem: put 2742, in the box named bytes: put 0000 click load from phone, then save to file. Once you have done that click on open from file and go to the files that you unzipped the file and find the folder for your phone and select 2742_0001_bytes_edited.seem. Now that you have that file open select Save to phone, then press resart phone.
