So......I ventured into the 'seem' editing world and once again have to sing the praises of the V3M Wiki and the content providers from this site.
I was able to load up the MSU software and P2K seem and have it work no problems. I have unlocked a number of the features that VZW disables. The vibe / ring feature is nice to have!
Has anyone figured out the Java options as of yet? I turned the menus on, however cannot see them under any of the options, anyone have any luck?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Since u havedone seem edits, there is one last one to enable multimedia on the phone.

Phone ID String Edit for MPT... Thanks to Raalph253 and the New Seem found thread.... Doing this seem edit adds the missing "M" to the Identification string in the phone. Once completed, MPT's "auto-detection" of the phone will identify it as V3mM and MPT will be configured accordingly (i.e. show the Multimedia Studio Icon). NOTE: the Offset 6A Bit 0 seem edit (USB transfer) is still required to make the MultiMedia Studio feature of MPT actually work!!!

For the V3M this would be Seem 2827, Record 1, Bytes (h) 22, Offset 0006, "check the boxes" for bits 0-2-3-6 and "uncheck the boxes" for Bits 1-4-5-7

Once u do this and restart the phone, connect to MPT and it will automaqtically recognize it as v3mm, and u will be allllset

Thanks Cindyball, for your quick respond! I'm using MPT and it works fine for music, but not for pictures.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I know this came up before, but I couldn't find the answer off hand and i'm too lazy to re-read 50 pages. When I copy videos off my phone, windows media player grumbles that the format is not recognized, but it will play them. Only hitch is there's no sound. Do I just need to download some codecs? If so, which ones and where do I get them.

    Thanks peeps

What is your problem exactly? Do you get a specific error message? Or are u having a hard time figuring out which folder they are supposed to go into? When u say music is fine, are u doing ringtones? Or music that can be played on the Verizon media player?

Yes, download the XP drivers, and a program called BitPim and you can transfer pictures to and from very easily. You can do music and/or ringtones as well, but that requires a lot more work.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Yep, it appears to be a little buggy. The first time i tried syncing, it didnt show my phone as a device. So with wmp11 still open, i went back in and hit sync music againm on my phone, low and behold it connected fine. I was able to see my tf card etc. SO i shut it all down in hopes to hit sync on the phone, and have it automatically start wmp11 and connect, and it did! It asked to download an upgrade to make it work, so it did that fine. EVerything works well now. The only prob I have is each time i connect it, it asks a series of 3 questions, such as do i want to add mucis to library (i already have), it asks if i want to delete files on my phone b/c the card it almost full (ummm, no, lol), and lastly do i want to rename the internal storage, or removeable storage? (so i tried to change it, it does, but the next time u connect, it forgets). So with that said, WMP11 works and syncs fine, but I might just switch back to wmp10 b/c i ONLY use it to sync my phone's music. I am using version 11.0.5705.5043

Re: Adding Browser Options to V3M

I have BitPim and used it once to add wallpaper and ringer to my Razr. Now I want to add some more and it will not let me do it. When I go to add the new items to my phone, adding is not an option. I have tried to replace all and that does not work either. Can anyone help me and tell me what I am doing wrong?

I used p2k commander to delete the stock ringtones on my v3m before I knew it would not let me access the ring detail page if i did so. I know I'm a retard. I understand what I did wrong, but I don't know how to fix the problem so I can set my Master Volume Detail again. Any help would be appreciated.

Easy fix. Here is the link to my thread when I experienced the same problem. Let me know if u have any questions. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/razr-phones/57097-cant-access-ring-details.html

edit: for a further explanation, the 2 .db files are MyToneDB.db, and TmpTneDB.db
Some have deleted them, turned the phone off and back on andh ad no luck, but once they removed the battery then re-powered it, and it fixed it. Could be coincidence, but try that if that thread doesnt seem to work at first.

New member needs advice Razor V3M sd card

O.K. so I have had the V3m for two weeks. I have read countless threads about wmp10, bad drivers, fixes, and the phone not synching. I have expereinced every error I have seen posted but I stiil do not have a song on my phone. I tried the motorola mpt fix several times in every concievable order of events along with all th eother posts I could find where the result was one where the phone accepted AND played back music of the owners choice. I purchased a 1gb transflash card and formatted it in the phone. The file structure placed there by the phone is the following folders:

    Music
    my_music
    wmptinfo.xml

and some other system folders (browser, etc)for which I assume all the other functions of the phone pertain. I am simply trying to make my phone into a music player. I have converted 50 songs or so from mp3 to wma formats and I can play them in wmp10 and do all the other things I need to the individual song/playlist files. Since I have given up on the synch function I am trying to copy the songs directly to the transflash card. My laptop had an sd card reader and I have successfully used the adapter to get the card to appear in the wpm10 synch list. (this is how I saw what files the phone had formatted the card to.) Here is my question......
I cannot get wmp10 to synch to the my_music folder; it only will synch to the music folder??!!! I direct copied some songs into the my_music folder but once I put the card back in the phone it always reports the same error. "Music Player unavailable" and the genre, playlist, song, etc list are empty ???

I am not a neophyte wrt programing but I am beside myself with frustration over this. The wmpinfo file contains a hex value device id coded in a sinlge line of code and nothing else. The songs are wma format. I tried using the player from the verizon music essentials kit AND directly downloading the player from microsoft suspecting that the phone software isn't the only software verizon has tampered with. Both yielded the same result

As for background info my Toshiba laptop (running XP pro) did see the phone as a windows storage device a few iterations back but would never see the phone as a V3M storage device either with or without the card installed. And wmp10 has never recognized the phone.

A final note......could it be possible that since I ordered the phone from verizon without the vcast option that they have crippled the phones music playback ability? Sounds paranoid but after 6 calls to verizon and 14 different "customer service" not people I am ready to can this phone an select another brand. If anyone can help me I will be forever in your debt as I do not like to admit defeat wrt anything technical.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Thanks Cincyball, worked like a charm. However, I've got a new question. Anyone have a seem edit to get rid of the ring style banner at the bottom of the screen? I did the seem edit to add the vibe then ring feature and now I can't be rid of the little bell icon blocking out the date on the external display. Not a big deal just kind of annoying when I try to check the date and have to open the phone. Any help would be appreciated.

Good, Im glad that wrked for you.

No, no seem edit. The misconception is people think once they did the seem edit to enable vibe then ring, they made that banner show up. Truth is, even if u didnt do the seem edit, that banner is there any time except when ur profile is on loud. Loud is the only way to see the date on the outside unfortunately. It was funny seeing people undo the seem edit thinking they would get rid of that banner haha. Anyways, your stuck with the banner if ur ring detail is anyting but "loud".

    I need a file...

Could someone help me find a particular file on the v3m?

It's called: arcpublic.bar, and it's in the brew/mod/arcmedia directory. My arcpublic.bar file is damaged, so I need to download an undamaged one from somewhere. Please help? Thanks!

I updated my media player 11 to beta 2 (11.0.5705.5043) from the MS site and was able to also get it to work. It does not prompt me to add music or any of the questions that you are coming across.
I did have to run the MPTFix.exe however before MP11 would recognize the phone as a sync device. Once I did this, it connects and works perfectly.

So the last couple things I would like to have would be JAVA games to work, and possibly to have only the time displayed on the external LCD. However I don't think the time thing will work due to Verizon menuing limitations and skin / theme limitations.
But anyone get anything new on the JAVA side of things? I have been searching and playing around, but not found anything useful yet.

Nope, the time thing isnt possible. Neither is the JAVA. This phone runs BREW applications for games. As of now, there is no way around this.

Nope, not that either. When the game is purchased, it is licensed to your exact phone. I dont know everything about brew, but from what i read, if u bought a game, and were able to download it to your comp, and then sayyy...ur phone dies, u get a replacement from verizon and u try to upload that game, it wont work. the only way is to have verizon credit u with the cost of the game, and then purchase it agaion on ur new phone. now thats what happens if ur phone is fixed under warranrty. if ur phone isnt under warranty and it dies, u lose ur games and cant get them back. thats why the ywent to brew. they make more money, and as of now, dont have to worry about anyone downloading gamess for free liek what was happening with java.

Yeah use MPT, works a lot better. Bitpim is to much trouble. But sometimes I have to turn off the phone, reboot the pc, then open MUTrunning in the background then open BitPim and plug in the phone and it works "SOMETIME'S!".

Re: New member needs advice Razor V3M sd card

I feel your pain but you are creating the problems you are experiencing. I'm well over 60 yrs old, never had a cell phone until this Razr V3M, and I have changed everything there is to change on the phone through seem edits, and have loaded about 100 songs onto the phone that all play perfectly.

How did I do it? I read everything available on how to do it and then did the "magic" thing - I followed the directions perfectly. Guess what - everything worked. Your phone works like everyone elses. Go back and read the 100+ pages of instructions. Most posts are from people who won't go back and read, so they post their question which has already been asked for a gizzilion times. There are'nt that many REAL instructional posts to read. Those who have problems have either not read the instructions, or failed to follow them EXACTLY. Try again.:p

Re: New member needs advice Razor V3M sd card

That is untrue. I have had great succes with my v3m on my computer. Hell, I have made over 200 posts because I have learned sooo much about this phone, that a lot of it has come to be 2nd nature to me now. BUT, I was setting my brothers v3m up on his computer, and I had some terrible times getting it to work. We still cant get Bitpim to work, nevermind WMP10. I am pretty computer savvy, but I think some people's computer settings, usb port problems are just there and pose problems for most. Now with that said, I was able to get my usb drivers, wmp10, etc to work perfectly 1st try on my work computer running xp pro. My home comp and laptop however needed some extra tlc. That comp is running xp home, but now everything is fine. My brothers comp has media center 2005 and i cant figure it out for the life of me. It may be coincidence, but thats what I have found.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I need some help. I did all the right seem editing to my razr v3m, as a matter of fact, I tried to use BitPim and it works only when I restart my computer but I can only send pictures and rigtons, I cannnot receive and videos or picture!

I just bought a 1 gig micro sd card and when I drag an mp3 onto the card and then place the sd into the phone, the phone doesnt pick it up, I went to storage devices on the phone from the system, where the manual says to format the transflash...nothin happen?

but the up most important question I would like to ask you is Once you connect the v3m to the computer, I followed the syc guide to connect to windows media and add songs from there , everytime I try to connect on the phone, it gives me this error message saying:

    Connection Failure
    pres end

all i want to do is just listen to some music on my razr

    :(
