New here and i assume this is the right place for this (i hope) Just got a v3m yesterday from verizon. i noticed today that my inbox does not show the count. my sent box will say 5 or 10 and so on. only time inbox shows count is when i get a msg. will say 1/15 of whatever, then after i check it it goes back to just saying inbox. is this how the phone was done or am i missing something.

    Welcome to WA!

If I catch what you are asking. Everytime you send a msg, the sentbox will show a count of how many you have sent.

The inbox only shows a count of how many unread msg's you have. Once they/it is read the count goes back to not showing and the read msgs stay in you inbox.

    I am Confused

Here is the short version, I was with Verizon with V3C, "managed" to flash it to Alltel and swiched to Alltel service, but I cant get the hang of this seem edit stuff. Seems like all the tutorials are aimed at GSM phones. I get to the point of downloading the seem from the phone, and saving it. But it dont look any thing like the tutorial says, or locks my PC up. Please!! can any body help me out. I do not have all of the functions up and running yet (naturally). plus i would like to get rid of the Verizon boot up and shut down BS

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Anyone out there come across this?
I sync my phone with Outlook using MPT to get my contacts and calendar events. My events consist of birthdays and anniversarys with reminders set and set as reocurring appointments. The problem I'm having is the phone does not give me a reminder I think because the date I originally placed them in Outlook was in the past, around 2003 when I had a smartphone. The smartphone gave me a reminder when an appointment came around, so does my pocket pc but not the Razr as I think it's supposed to.
    Any help would be appreciated.

It might sound silly, but do u have reminders turned on in your ring details? There are 2 settings. Alerts and reminders. I was having a similar problem with mine. I had the Red Sox schedule synced to my v3m, but when the game time came, my phone didnt respond. Once i checked my ring detail, i saw the reminders were turned off. Everything was correct in my outlook as well.

I have both alerts and reminders turned on. Have you ever received a recurrence reminder that you set up in outlook?

I have a Verizon RAZR V3m and am having trouble syncing with my motorola bluetooth H500. It initially recognizes it, I've entered the 'password' which gets accepted but when I go to make a call ... nothing. Any suggestions?

    TIA,

    Derek

BTW, I also have a Verizon Samsung a950 and it syncs up with the H500 easily and works perfectly.

Hi, I have a v3m. I have MTP 4.12a Could some give me a step by step for idiots how to activate my Multimedia function? I don't know what SEEM means. Also any other settings I must change to make it work. I have Verizon service and Windows XP. All I really want to do is make my own ring tones.Thank you, Wayne

Further on this subject! I just tried again to syncronize the phone with my pc's outlook events and everything worked fine. Or so I thought because when I looked at my phones calendar no events show up on particular date. MPT says however that they, events, are in there. What's up? I'm wondering if a seem edit will fix things.

DITTO!! I have the same problem. Maybe rwsrichard or rosenjon or one of the other great regulars here will be able to help us out. I keep running across references to p2kseem, but I have not been able to find it on a site. I found one over on howardforums.com but it was modified for a V710:banghead:

If you want a great walk through, go to www.motov3m.com That site has everything nicely organized, but no discussion threads. Go there and do some research. Then hit www.hacktherazr.com, do some more research, then come back here and if you are having problems still, post a specific question and someone can definitely guide you. But asking for a step by step generic guide would take a loooooong time ;) Good luck

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I've been lurking for a while and have done the usual MPT load, seeming to unlock, ect.

Richard: Thanks a million for all your hard work. I was ticked when I found out how much of the V3m was locked out, but your hard work allowed me to have the phone I THOUGHT I purchased in the first place.

Now it's my turn to give back a little. I've heard several people claim the V3m is a mono phone, not stereo. That is not true! The V3m phone IS FULL STEREO if you use motorola headphones with the usb plug end.

I tried their crappy converter plug with an adapter and regular headphones and the sound was so bad (and mono) that I got on e-bay and purchased regular motorola headphones for under $10. The music now sounds good and is in full stereo. I can tell by listening to several songs that fade from one ear to the other. I also made a recording of my own dropping the left then the right channel so I am positive about this.

So to all who have been listening in mono - spend $10 and free yourself to the sounds of stereo! The part number is SYN1301 (OEM Part). Here's an example on E-bay for pictures and info only, I don't work for this company, buy them anywhere you like!

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I have a V3M and have disabled EVDO. I also have a HP Ipaq that I used to be able to sign on to the internet using my pocket pc with my prior phone (E815) as a modem via bluetooth. It worked excellently.

Now I want to use my V3m as a bluetooth modem for my ipaq. The phone lets me sign on for 1 minute, then it disconnects. Any suggestions of what I have to do? Thanks.............

I know this could be considered a stupid question but if i got a transflash card for my V3M is their a way to make it look like a USB mass storage device for to my pc? I am thinking it would be a good way to not have to carry around a flash drive anymore.

Nope, it isnt possible. What u can do however is u can take out the tf card, slide it into an sd adapter and plug that into a card reader and transfer files that way. But u cant access the tf card like a mass storage device.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Just as a heads up, in case u didnt notice, this thread is plenty long enough. Try not posting the same question 2 posts later if no one has answered yet.

With that said, I have used the v3m as a usb modem for a pc, im not sure how, if at all, it would be any different from a mac. Here are 2 links that i followed to set mine up 2 different ways, both work fine. One requires MPT, so if u already have that and havent done any seem edits, u might want to try this one. http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php?page=MPTConnect&PHPSESSID=8718159fb7cd7d89c027d6becc947613 Now if u have done seem edits, or dont want to buy MPT, try this link www.hacktherazr.com (i dont have the exact link as their site is down for the moment) But it required disabling EVDO, which I dont care about as I would rather use my laptop hooked up to my v3m at 1x speeds than use my phones web browser at EVDO speeds. I think its tougher to navigate with the phones browser. And since both are "free" (only take up minutes of air time). Hope this has helped. I would think its similar for both pc and mac

Okay, I've got the Razr V3M phone and just bought the Verizon Music Essentials Pack. I synced all of my music up and got it on my phone, but there's one big problem. I want to set the songs up as my ringtones. How do I do that?

Okay, I searched everywhere and still haven't found an answer to this.

Using MPT, whenever I try to send a ringtone I get the message ""unable to communicate with mobile phone". I updated it to version 4.1 or whatever, tried removing the battery for a minute, tried switching my modem but it still doesn't work. How can I fix this?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Ok, so u have gotten somewhere ;) So i assume u have successfully gotten into the Multimedia portion of MPT. My question is, how did u do it? Did you manually setup MPT to recognize your phone as a v3mM? Or did you do seem edits? In order to get MPT to transfer data thru ur USB cable, u need to enable that feature on the phone. AS im sure u have figured out, Verizon crippled the phone, and we need to re-enable USB transfer. To do this, we must perform "seem" edits. Basically, we are turning on what Verizon has truned off. Let me know if u know what a seem edit is, or if u have done some already.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

No, there is no firmware available yet for the v3m. If u flash, u cant get back to v3m firmware yet. Also, if u flash, u lose access to the media player and transflash card slot. Flashing to alltel will enable OPP, but if u did that, and in time flashed back to v3m firmware once it is released, u obviously would lose OPP.

PS. Stankees will ose 1st round to the Tigers ;)

Yeah, I followed someone's directions on how to re-figure the modem or whatever to let me get the Multimedia section up and running. So I've got that part down.

And no, I have no idea what a "seem" edit is. Is this the last step before I can transfer ringtones?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Yep, that is the final step. The phone doesnt allow data transfer thru the usb cable. The phone can literally do it, but they have turned this off, so in people's cases like yours, they wouldnt be able to send their own ringtones. The reason, simple...you would just think u had to buy them for $3 from verizon. Well, we can fix that. You will need 2 programs. I am going to post a link that provides and excellent walk thru. If u follow this carefully, u will be all set. As a heads up, you could brick ur phone. But as I said, if u follow the steps, all will be fine. More people have had success than failure, by a long shot. If u have a question, feel free to ask it here before proceeding. The link is: http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php?page=SEEM&PHPSESSID=11b34f45cb91c9e05e049902f6f27b99
Read thru that and let me know if u need any more help. This will get rid of ur error message in MPT! :D

Okay, I finished the seem-editing and it worked fine, my phone still works.

Only problem is that the MPT doesn't have the Multimedia Center anymore, because I had to re-do the whole thing. Can someone remind me how to unlock the Multimedia?
