I got mpt working, I had to reload the drivers for 4.21, and real important at least in my case the old reboot so the pc can find the drivers worked like a charm. I have all the functions in the mpt yay!
Now I have to figure out how to get into the micro card through mpt. But I will get it sooner or later. Oh yeah there is a seem in the phone that I had to turn on something about allowing file access to qspt I checked it and it unlocked that feature.
ANyway its working for now, and I didnt brick my phone...yet!

MPT works fine with the V3mm setting; I believe I read in one of the forums before I did my mods to use that setting; I've been able to transfer pics from PC to phone with no problems; use mp3's as ring tones; sorry I didn't register before I did and after my mods so I could help the newcomers...

    Perfectly alright.

Just making some notes on the different versions of the software and what you need to use for the phone.

Example. MPT ver 4.0 you have to use V3cm and for version 4.21 you need to use V3mm.

    Thanks for the info.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

When I use the V3mm I only get the phonebook, email, and internet options.
I have upgraded to Mpt 4.21a. I use the V3cm option I get to use full function.
Although I have not figured out how to use Mp3's for ringtones as of yet. And also I dont think MPT reccognizes wma formated songs. Or is there a setting in MPT for wma?

Wow that is so cool, now I can make MP3 ringtones and copy them to my phone and pictures to. That is so much better. Thanks for bearing with me people. It was a long road from the desk at the (evil empire) Verizon store to where I am now with my phone. But now I have the functions I want and the service I need.
I love beating the man! Yay!!!!!!!
    :D
I am gogin to have to produce a guide for those that encounter the same things as I have in this journey.
    Again Thanks.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

:D You can use the File Transfer Studio option under MultiMedia Studio to transfer files to/from your phone... Ringtones should be placed in \audio... once this is done regardless of the format (mp3 or wma) whenever you enter the ringtone option, your transfered ringtones will show also...

    Completed Hacks:
    Bluetooth/USB transfer enabled
    Customized SU/SD animation
    Customized SU/SD sounds
    Customized outer graphic opened/closed
    Customized MP3 Ringtones
    "Free" WAP

I am having the same problem. I've had to format the transflash card and start all over twice now to unfreeze it. First time it froze the card was about 2/3 full, the second time it was between 1/2 to 2/3 full. I could still access the files on the card through a card reader, just not on the phone. I now only load about 10 songs at a time. I also exit WMP and power down the phone frequently to avoid the freezing. But I only have the card about half full now because I'm afraid to go over the 512mb mark. I hope someone can help explain what the problem is and how to avoid the freezing while using the entire 1 gig.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Please help. My Verizon V3m won't download the phonebook to my car. I already hacked the phone and did a seem edit turning on the bluetooth option but now it seems that since the firmware doesn't include a "push" option, seem edits won't solve the problem. I think that if I change my software version from what it is now (NEWC_01.05.0A) to either the old .o2 or even alltel firmware this will solve my problems. I can't seem to locate a source to actually download these softwares. Anybody have any experience?

I think you will be VERY disappointed by converting MP3's to ringtones. You are talking about 2 totally different formats. Most people who have converted them did not like it at all.

Look here for some help with rintones.

    http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/r...56530-ringtone-request-thread-mp3-oregon.html

This is getting weirder and weirder. Some are using V3cm and others are using v3mm with the MPT 4.21. something just not clicking correctly, somewhere.

Try Mark's Forum for the Alltel software. I belive I saw a link posted there, somewhere.

I would also stick with the VZW NEWC_01.05.0A software. It is the newest and was NOT an upgrade.

I have copied mp3 ringtones from Pink Floyd to John Lennon, and other rockers. I am very pleased with the sound quality.:D

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I have tried, someone said to rename the MP3 to WMA, and it would fool the phone into playing it. I tried it but it would not play them. So I just play the WMA's they are a better compression anyway. The bitrate will determine quality I think. Experiment with them I did it with a pink floyd tune "Wish You Were here!" and it worked great MPT will set the bitrate for your phone if you have mpt 4.21a.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

hey guys, i have been reading this forum for quite some time now, and i got basically everything i want outta my Razr phone, except i made one mistake on the spash screen for open wave, i accidentally deleted the file instead of over writeing it, so now i have no openwave splash screen, is there any way i can get that back? and second in bitpim when i go to /motorola/shared/pictures, bitpim takes some time to load the directory, and shows nothing in the window when its doen loading, i would like to change my turn on/off gifs, what am i doing wrong? and also onto the idea of brew games, what if using the free wap idea, we found a site that offered brew? if it were downloaded to the phone could it not work? and last question, after enableing the full engineering menu, how do i get into it?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I have a V3m, just got it Monday, I installed MPT 4.0.4b and installed the drivers manually. When I open MPT it recognizes the phone and let me use the phonebook and calender. When I open the Music Studio and try to send a file to the phone it give me a message of not being able to contact the phone. Then when I go back to try and use the phonebook it's not able to connect to the phone. Did I do anything wrong, or is there any way to send ringtones to the phone w/o having to SEEM it?

    Ok my turn.

Does anyone know how to make two (2) voicemail annoucements?

It seems like the only option is to use the default or make up one. I want one for when I am in school and when not in school use the default.

I made up one for school, but to use the default, I have to delete the one I made up for school.

My car has no option tomanually do that. I think I just need to put on diiferent firmware. Everyone says if you look hard enough you can figure out where to download certain programs. I have had no luck at all.

No. You must seem edit to get the Multimedia options in MPT to work.

    See tip#2 here: http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php

Re: Adding Browser Options to V3M

Sorry about that.:D I don't spend much time here. I've been messing around with the wiki quite a bit.

Back to your screenshot. The only things I can suggest are:

    - are you connecting your USB cable directly to your computer or is it connected to a hub? If it is connected to a hub, don't. Sometimes this will cause problems.

    - if you have multiple USB ports on your computer, try using different ports. I've seen some desktops that add ports to the front of the computer via a type of internal hub. Connecting to one of these would be like connecting to a regular USB hub. Try to use one that's directly off the motherboard.

    - disconnect all other USB devices, then try only connecting your phone.

If none of this helps, I'm at a loss.

Re: Adding Browser Options to V3M

I just figured I would throw this out there, it may be of absolutely NO help, or it could be. (desperate times call for desperate guesses). My brother was having a horendous time with usb port properties in order to use BitPim. He would plug his phone in, it would show it as an available port for maybe 5 seconds, then it would switch to inoperable. I know you are trying to use QPST, but the problem appears to be your usb port properties. The way we fixed his problem was to connect the phone with it off. It isntalled it properly as the USB modem obviously, but furthermore, we were able to connect successfully to BitPim! When the phone was on and connected no matter which usb port, it would not work. Turn it off, plug it into the same port, voila! Good luck.
