Re: I can't play music with my cell using micro sd.

How are you transfering music to your sd card? I throw mine in the pc, then I copy the WMA files to the My Music folder on the sd card then back in the phone I go to get tunes etc- my music and all the songs are there. It will only play wma's though, I havent gotten any mp3's to play.
    I like wma's better anyway.:D

I had the same thing happen, but it was due to mot having the license for the WMA. I copied a lot of WMA's to the Sd Card and some would play somne would not. After researching I found you have to have the license for the songs, hence the reason for Media Player 10.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Well, I have tried p2k, mpt,and several different driver packs from everywhere. Cant get this V3m verizon to anything. My computer (PC) laptop will not reccognize the phone as a modem. Only thing I have been able to do is with the motorola upgrade running and p2k running at the same time I can seem edit, but I still cant transfer files from the pc to the phone. I removed the Sd card and put it in the pc and was able to get some wma's to play if I have the license for the songs. I am not to much into music on my phone.
I would like to be able to make my own ringtones. I refuse to pay the Evil Verizon for ringtones and music. I called verizon and raised cain with them about how badly crippled this phone is. The moron that I talked to said the reaso wqas because people were destroying the phones and they were having to replace to many of them. I told him pint blank that, that was an out and out lie, I dont see the difference with if I upload a ringtone to my phone would destroy the phone when if I buy the ringtone from Verizon would that not do the same thing? He knew I was right and he was spouting the daily talking points given him from the corporate big daddys.
I think I am going to change my service to Cingular or T-Mobile. Verizon has gotten rotten greedy.:browani:

    Re: RAZR V3m

See now that is just like verizon, they tell you that stuff so you wont try it. I copied WMA's to my Sd Card and they played fine. That guy @ verizon lied like a dog about how people were destroying there phone by uploading their own ringtones to them, thats why they crippled the phones he told me. Well after he was through with his BS, I told him he was a liar and that I knew why they did it, they want us the customer to buy everything from them. I also told the Moron that I was not happy with them and that as soon as my contract is up, I would be gone. I have been with Verizon ever since they were GTE and that goes back a ways, but lately they have been getting rotten and greedy.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I got a V3M recently and know there's gotta be a way to use the cable that came with the USB like the music is setup to get my photos into my pc. I've been taking out the micro card and putting it into a reader then to my pc, but don't like the idea of taking out that little card all the time.

So, I went to Verizon tech for help, and a techie admitted that there's a way to do it but they won't tell because they want you to upload it online because that's one way Verizon makes $$. He suggested I get a driver via LG, but couldn't find it.

Can anyone help with the whereabouts of a driver so I can get photos from my phone directly to my pc?

Lets here it when you find something out as far as ringtones go with the sd card....For sure. Or if there is an easy way to make WMAs ringtones.

on a different note, I was on the phoen with tech support and they asked me if iTunes or my MP#s were acting up on my V3m.... They don't even bother training these effin morons do they? This was some ghetto black woman named Lafonduh, and, she was speakign to me in ebonics.. "Well yo is yo I toons work'n all good and right, or 'sit havin' troubles downloadn to da phone, (pause) da v3m...." I replied that the v3m is not a mp3 or Itunes phone
"Well, im the one on this here technikalll suport an i think i would know a lil better than you, ya know wwhat i'm sayn"

    Ugh...

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

As far as I can tell, they are in the phone somewhere... :p

Go to Setting & Tools -> Sound Settings -> Ring Styles -> Master Volume Detail. You can change what the phone rings with depending on the situation there and all the unlocked ringtones are there. I have no idea on how to access them another way. :(

What's the video camera resolution on the V3m? I thought there was a choice between 320x240 and 176x144 on the one I returned, but this one only has 176x144. Is this because of the video length edit I did or is something serious wrong with my phone or am I just remembering the 320x240 from the camera setting??

    v4.2.1a

However, I need to correct myself. I just tried to do the same (what I thought I did) to my wife's phone, and it did not work. Changing it to V3mM and choosing V3mm from within the mpt software did not work. When I took a closer look at my phone, I noticed I did not change it to v3mM but to v3M ... When I changed her phone back to V3m mpt with V3cm chosen still did not let me use the multimedia options only see them.. So I changed her phone to v3M..and this works for some reason for me.... So now I am leaving it alone for now since I am able to do everything I want at this point.

Re: Adding Browser Options to V3M

Though I appreciate your attention, my efforts are still failing.

I connect my phone to a USB port, start QPST and click the "Ports" tab. The window shows two Com ports, neither of which seems to be my phone. I then click "Add" and a single item shows in the recogized ports window. The result is shown in the screenshot below:

Even if I ignore the fact that the Baud Rate doesn't say "USB," the rest of the staps fail. Plus, As I've said before, the phone number shown for that port is not my number. Weird.

    Any thoughts?

Okay, here's an interesting little conundrum (how the heck do you spell conundrum?)

I have built-in USB 5-in-1 card reader in my other computer. I take out my microSD card, put it in the SD adapter, but my computer can't read the card. It doesn't say that it cant read it, but just freezes..

So, Is there a way to access my microSD card via my V3m? Am I :loony: or does this seem easier said than done? Any thoughts?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

The only thing I have been able to do is sync the phone with Media player 10 and transfer wma's. Let me see if I can run this down. I found a file called, V3mconnection.zip. I unziped it to my desktop, then I installed the drivers in the folder called drivers, nothing happened, so I hooked up my phonr to the usb cable it made some different noises I havent heard before. So then I opened the other file that comes with the zip called Mtpfix.exe and then I turned the phonr "ON" I had it off when I hooked it to the cable. After that I was syncing and uploading files to my Razr like it should be, and all the music plays fine.
I still cant get Bitpim to work at all, I did get P2k to work and I seem edited my phone to get it to use the bluetooth and the usb cable. But so far I havent had any luck with transfering ringtones, any ideas?

I just use MPT for transfering ringtones and pics. Never had a problem there. I have been thinking about making an .iso of my MPT disk, and putting it up on bit torrent, if you want, PM me, and we'll work something out :censored:

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I have MPT and cant get it to even find the phone. Maybe a driver problem or something when I open the program it only shows up as V3c.
    No clue to why?
I just want to make ringers and perhaps change the front screen from that hidious Verizon crap.
Maybe you have a different version of mpt than I.

Re: can't get bitpim to recondize my phone

Your just about where I am, I can transfer music in two ways but if the music is protected the phone will not play. I cant get bitpim to reccognize the v3m in fact it just locks up when I go to the help/settings/continue screen.
P2K works great I can seem edit fine but not sure what I can get away with, without bricking the phone. I unlocked the blutooth/ usb cable option, I also unlocked the siren ringtone Not sure if I should do anything else or not.
    Anyway good luck.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Ok, I got the vibe/ring options to work through the P2K, YAY!!!! Now I need to know if maybe all the drivers I have opened may be conflicting the Bitpim?
How do I get rid of them all and start over?
I just want to upload ringers to my V3M/V3cM/V3c or whatever it is. I do believe it is a V3M because it has the micro card in the back. I must sound like a retard to some of you, but I have just discovered P2K/ and P2K commander.
I know how the seem edit works, havent figured out P2K commander yet although I have gotten it to read my files from the V3M, I dont know what I am doing and need to have a few hints.
I have given up on Bitpim it just locks up, will se if I can find some info on it. I read that some people have gotten it to work. Any hints would be handy.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I think I know your problem Raggnarok.. MPT sees the V3m as the V3c. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, it's perfect, just how you want it, good job :p

Now, when you first plug in your phone, you want to select the option to select it yourself, doing the whole CDMA -> v3cm

Once you do that, you should be able to use the multimedia studio to transfer ringtones to your phone.

Now as to the whole, removing any drivers you used, the only way I could think to do it is to roll back windows to a restore point before you even plugged in your phone. This may be an option for you, depending on how long ago you got your phone, and what you have done since then.

Just try selecting your phone as a CDMA -> V3cm in MPT, and see if it works for you that way.

For those using MPT... keep updating the software until you get version 4.21

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Ok tried all that and nothing yet. I am trying different drivers I see a new one I have not tried yet.
Something has to give. I tried useing it as a Moto V710 and it reccognized my phone as that but would not let me transfer files.
So now I am back to where I started but never undaunted and always positive. Ready to battle the EVIL EMPIRE Verizon.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Alright the new version of MPT 4.21a contains several new phones the V3c, V3cm, V3m, and V3mm. I used the driver for vcm and it worked for about ten minutes I was able to transfer files, pictures and ringtones, but after a bit it started cutting off and then reccognizing intermittently. After that I could not get ot to reccognize the phone in either setting.
Oh well I know it works, just have to find a way to keep it stable.:loony:

Did you use the driver for 4.21? I would say the V3m or V3mm. There have been a couple of other posts that used those for their V3m phone.

See post 1285 for the driver.
