A lot of us did not have to installs any special 'fixes' to make thing works, like WMP10. I also did not have to install the mptfix file for MPT to work.

I guess it is each individual's systems settings that makes it where you have to install all the fixes and other things.

    WMA Versions?

Can anyone tell me what version of WMA files the V3M supports? I converted a bunch of Apple Lossless files to WMA 9.1 and they won't seem to transfer to my phone...

If You Use WMP 10 to convert files to WMA it works perfectly. If you have WMP 10 you might be able to figure out what type of file it converts it to.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hey guys - it has been a long time since I've posted....I have been busy with work, and in my spare time have been trying to maintain the wiki (keeping menu items up-to-date, etc.) - even though others from this forum have been doing most of the wiki work. (CPTBeaker, you da man...)

I saw that Drew asked for a problem/solution (FAQ) format that might help answer people's questions. I am going to try to launch an FAQ feature on the wiki, where you can post things in a problem/solution format, and then people can rate them, etc. I need to do a little more testing before I release it, but I think I should be able to get it done by the end of the weekend.

    Cheers....

    Jon

    WMA Version

I may be wrong, but I believe WMP is not able to convert Apple Lossless files. I ended up using a program called dbPowerAmp Music Converter.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Ok the FAQ feature has been implemented.

The way it works is that you can create groups of FAQ's -- so for instance I have created 4 groups, one for WMP10 questions, one for MPT questions, one for Seem editing questions, and one for Bitpim questions.

Remember, the purpose of this is to provide answers to frequent questions. If all you have is a question, post that in the forum (either here or on motov3m.com), and if you get an answer that works, then post the question/answer pair in FAQS.

You have to register in order to create/edit FAQS -- I have not disabled the ability to delete FAQs, so please use best judgement....don't delete things unless clearly not a helpful FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions - email webmaster@motov3m.com -- I will be paying closer attention to the site this weekend to see if this works out well or not

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Just got my Razr V3c through US Cellular. I love the 1.3 megapixel camera, and I have an amazing picture of a car that I want as my wallpaper, but it seems that even at the highest resolution the picture is blurry as wallpaper. I can't get the image to take the right resolution of a picture. Anywhere I can go to make it so the camera takes a picture that fills the screen, or is it always gonna take the half screen shot?

Check out the V3m and Seem Editing FAQ for an example - I put up an FAQ about changing the V3m to military time.

I think its called the viewfinder? Making that fit the screen so I can use the pictures I take on the phone to fit the screen instead of cropping it.

Basic Changes to V3m with BitPim

    Hello, All:

Total newbie to this subject, your help and patience would be appreciated. New V3m, verizon service. Downloaded drivers as advised, WMP recognizes phone as modem, I am able to sync music to the micro SD card. Downloaded and installed BitPim, got it to recognize phone, began to import all phone data...everything went fine until it got to the ringtones. At this point I got a message stating that connection was lost "while transitioning from brew to obex." All I really want to do is be able to add my own WMAs (done), and be able to use my music as ringtones, etc. and not pay any money to do it. Is there a fix/workaround to my problem with BitPim, or do I have to use this MPT program everyone seems to be talking about?

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. I too would like to thank everone involved with this forum as it has opened up my eyes to a whole new world. . . P

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Sorry if this has been answered before, I am thinking of purchasing a V3M and would like to know how the speakerphone quality is like if the person on the other end hears lots of noise and choppiness like on a LG VX8100. Also, does bluetooth work well with this phone just for regular calling? Lastly, how is volume and reception? Thank you.

This is on my V3m. Where you are at will depend greatly on how things work for you.

Speakerphone quality on mine is A-OK. I use a H500 bluetooth headset on mine and it works excellent. I have no complaints at all for the reception. The volume, for me, is kept on low, because on high it is WAY to loud for me.

    Changing video record time....

    Hi Guys,

I have tried to change the video record time as described in the Wiki about 10 times. I save it from my phone, edit it using notepad, then overwrite it using BitPM and my phone doesn't change.

Has anyone else had this problem and overcome it? I'd really like to have a 2 or 5 min record time.

Thanks for your help, you guys ROCK!!!!

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Awesome thread, everyone. I've done the free web hack, but is there a way to use you phone as a modem on say a laptop to get a wireless internet signal? So, if I'm not near a hotspot I could use the phone to still get internet.

    Thanks

    Jon thanks for the FAQ!!

This should eliminate a ton of questions being answered again.

    Thanks for the assist!

Now if only I could figure out how to "completely" uninstall MPT so I may try again :)

Willy2900 can you help? I've tried most of the seem edits you posted and the only one I can't get to work is changing the GPS icon from a crosshair to a satelite. Is it because I have verizon for a carrier that it doesn't work or what?

Drew - CPTBeaker has posted a wiki page @ http://www.motov3m.com on how to surf with your phone using 1xRTT and MPT. It is not complete yet, but he expects to have all the info up shortly.

TOPIC: V3m Unlocking for use in Europe with pre-paid sim cards.

Is it possible (and if so, how?) to unlock a Verizon v3m without interrupting the Verizon service here, but be able to remove the card and replace it temporarily with a pre-paid sim while in Europe?

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Sure. First pull out your current Verizon Sim card and then insert the new sim card that you want to use.

    It's that easy!!

Another noob here. I used window 10 to convert the music, transfered about 80 songs to my music file on my card, but will only play 27 of the songs. Any ideas?

    Really!?! Thanks.

In talking to Verizon, and otheres, I got all this techo-speak about "locked" and "unlocked" phones and network specific hardware. . .and how this could not be done.

I guess the question now is has anyone actually done this successfully?

    Hey Geomatthews,

I was just pulling your leg. There are NO sim cards in Verizon phones...yet. Only GSM phones have sim cards, T-mobile, Rogers, Cingular, Trackphone etc. Verizon is on at totally different network that uses CDMA and actually you've brought up a pretty good point...can we use our Verizon phones in other countries?
GSM is a Global standard, so most GSM tri-band and quad-band phones can be used around the world.

Hope that helps. Anyone else with more info?
