Another quick question - whenever I try to use BitPim, it says "Ports not Available" for the Motorola USB Modem. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and reboot at least 3 times, always get the same message. Any suggestions?

You may have to download the driver and/or check the status of the driver.

goto pg 20 post 584 and download file. follow directions under "Check for the Motorola driver".

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hi all! Hope someone can answer this question: How can you transfer wma files to the V3M that are protected by licenses? I have found a few replies to this in the forum but no definite answer on how to accomplish this. I paid for the songs from Walmart.com and they transfer to the phone but I can't hear them when they are playing. All unprotected songs I've copied from my CD's are fine. Is there a way to unlock the protection? If someone has seen the answer to this please point me in the right direction. Thanks,

I follow these directions to a T (even printed them out) but when i put the sd back in my phone and do to manage my music there is nothing. I go for example to playlist and it says there are no songs...when i just put 3 song on the sd with wma10 in the "my_music" folder. What do I do?

I just wanted to know, since my phone
doesnt support the music essentials kit.

Is there any other way to use the USB cable with a diffrent program to get
Ringtones or just music on my phone?

because im very dissapointed that i now have to pay for music on my phone, it be a real plesure to just download music or ringtones to my phone like i do with my ipod.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    rwsrichard,
I started out with ver. 4.03 first time I installed it upgraded to 4.04 that is when all functions were there but no connectivity. Then I upgraded again (from ver. 4.04 to ver 4.12a) Now it recognizes the phone, but I have lost the Media Studio. ?I can only do the Phonebook and the Planner! Yikes!!

These two posts should answer your questions.

    Pg 2 post 60
    pg 5 post 142

Each post'er, put them in two different files. Let us know how it goes.

If you SEEM'ed the phone for QBEX. UnSEEM it. I had to do that to mine to make it work correctly.

I tried to follow your other 'posts' and cannot figure out 'follow those directions to a T'.

    Which/what directions were you following?

What have you done so far?

Do you have the V3c or the V3m?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    rwsrichard,
This may seem totally wierd but, I don't even know what SEEM'ing is! So I guess I didn't do it. What version of MPT are you using? 4.12a? I assume that your phone is a v3m?

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    I have a V3m. MPT ver is 4.12.

I first SEEM'd mine and MPT would not give me the MultiMedia. I un'SEEM'd it and everything is working great.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    Thanks,
You appear to have the same phone and MPT as I do. I didn't SEEM mine at all, so it should work. I will try again this evening. I just thought of something! I did install some kind of driver update so that the Windows Medi Player Syncing thing would work. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Any ideas on how to rid myself of the driver?

    Thanks.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I couldn't get my v3m to object exchange in MPT until I did the seem edit 006a. As rwsrichard suggests, go to http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php and follow the steps exactly.

On a side note and nothing to do with this reply, I really believe there should be a seperate tacked thread with the above link on the first post. People are asking the same questions over and over again that are addressed in this thread. It took me 2 days of experimenting and reading before I got my phone to work with full access, and without asking a single question. Rswrichard and rosenjon have supplied all the info that is required via this thread. Rosenjon's Wiki pretty much sums it all up with step by step instructions that are dead on.

    Read people, read. ;)

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

USB drivers are installed and I applied the MTPFIX patch. WMP still does not recognize my phone as a device. Syncing option in the phone says:

    Connect Failure.

    Please check your cable
    connection to the PC.

The drivers must be installed properly because the phone begins to charge when plugged into the USB port.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

The chargeing is automatic. No drivers required for that process.

The other problem. You did not say, so I am going to assume that you have the following:

    Windows XP w/sp2
Windows Media Player ver 10 NOT ver 11
    Your phone is an V3m

If so, download this fix and give it a try.

    View attachment Sync Fix.zip

    Then:

1.) Unzip and run program. Upon completion it will display a dialog box showing "Done".

    2.) Power the phone off.

3.) Disconnect the USB cable from the PC & the phone.

    4.) Power the phone on

5.) Reconnect the phone to the PC with the USB cable

6.) On the phone, go to MENU> Get It Now>Get Tunes & Tones>Sync Music. Windows Media Player will launch automatically and connect if it is installed and Selected. The phone should now show "Connected".

If you still have a problem, let us know in more detail, who/what/when and where on the problem. :)

The tansFlash card is to offload some of the files from your to phone to save what little space you have on the phone. It is also primarily for large files.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    Yes by SEEMing.

    Two part setting:
1.) Viberate THEN Ring part 1
    offset = 007b
    bit = 3
set = 0 (uncheck to Disable)

2.) Viberate THEN Ring part 2
    offset = 007b
    bit = 4
set = 1 (checked to enable)

I have done this, but this is vibrate THEN ring. I was wondering if there was a ring AND vibrate at the same time.

But there are these you can turn on also.

    Ringtone: Vib-Dot
    Ringtone: Vib-Dot-Dash
    Ringtone: Vib-Dash-Dot
    Ringtone: Vib-Dot-Dash
    Ringtone: Vib-Pulse
    Ringtone: Moonlit Haze

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

I believe you have to sync your wma files from WMP10 to your 1G card instead of just copying them to the card. I don't know exactly what syncing is yet, but that is what I did and it worked.

I went through all the SEEMs we have found and I cannot find one. Need a techy from VZW to slip us their SEEM list. Wouldn't that be grea?

    And a miracle.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

For V3C phones and MPT software ONLY!!

I keep forgetting to ask when some of you say you have a V3C phone and cannot get MPT to work, what version of firmware you have.

IF your firmware is .03, MPT will NOT work. VZW took it upon theirsleves to completely remove the OBEX option in that firmware.

Firmware .04 is IFFY. If it was upgraded from .03 to .04, then MPT will NOT work either. The easiest way to verify this is to SEEM it and then try MPT, if MPT will not work, then the firmware was probably upgraded.

The only options that I know of is to take your phone in to VZW and ask them to put the new .05 firmware on. Do NOT let them upgrade it, because you will still have the same problem. They will need to install it from scratch. This will cost you, the techy here said ~$20-$25.

Don't throw stones in glass houses. Many posts here have directed people to the Wiki.

The answer is there on item #9 - "How to Customize Video Capture Length"

It does not require a seem edit, but an .ini file edit.
