Well, for the V3m you do the following: Menu -> Get It now -> Get Tones & Tunes -> option 5 for Sync Music.

I would check ALL menus to see if there is a Sync Music option.

If not, I am at a loss, because I have a V3m. When I looked up the V3c specs, it says it will play music and up can download music to the phone. So you have to be able to Sync it to get the music.

I tried this, but the only options that I get are "1. Set as ringtone 2. Set as Ringer ID 3.Rename" that is it. No move option.

Well holy crap. Reading all 32 pages was painfull, but well worth it.

Anyway, thanks to rwsrichard and rosenjon. The advice was invaluable. My V3M is doing everything I want now.

One concern...... Can Verizon reflash our phones without our consent via the network?

Also, will there be a seem edit that will enable us to write directly to our TF cards via bluetooth so that we don't have to pull them out to put a large movie on our cards?

    You guys rock!!!!

    Thanks again :)

These two posts should answer your questions.

    Pg 2 post 60
    pg 5 post 142

Recap on these post. IF there is a C by the file, you will have the option of 'moving' the file to the card.

I guess the manual and VZW does not know their own product.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hey i just got my Razr V3m 2 days ago and today i just purchased a Sandisk MicroSD 1gb memory card and a usb transflash card reader for it. I read some posts on using the WMP10 and changing the songs i want on my phone and converting them into WMA. (90% of my songs are MP3`s) Well i did that hooked up my card to my computer with the reader and i draged all the songs i just converted into WMA into the My Music folder. After i did that i put the card back in my phone and went to Get Tunes and tones>My music and none of the songs appeared. So i called up verizon and asked them what was going on and they said that i need to get the music essentials kit so i can get the driver that will regonize the licence on the songs through the usb cable so that they will be able to play on the phone. Is there a way i can just put songs onto the card through the usb reader and put it back into my phone and being able to play songs my phone without having to purchase the kit??????

Good question. I think I will call my favorite store and ask. :)

But for now, I was told to dial #228, which so that the phone can be updated with newest software and tower information, it should not update the SEEM'ing nor fool with you modified files.

I have already SEEM'ed, ul'd files, made changes to phone and then did the #228 and none of my changes has been modified.

I was also under the impression that to flash the phone, you had to take it in to the service department.

Will let you know what I find out.

On the left screen make sure to choose CDMA

then from the new list on right scroll 'way down' till you see the V3cm, then select it.

The V3c will not give you the multimedia functions, the V3cm will.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

My phone came with a little connector/adapter of some sort. It plugs into the phone's usb port, is about three inches long and has a semi-cylindrical connector on the end with a small hole in it. What is this and what is it used for. I can't find any reference to it in the owners manual.

That's the ear piece adapter. Used for people that don't want one of the Star Trek type geekie Bluetooth ear pieces. If I recall correctly when playing with mine, it's a 1/16" jack, not a standard 1/8" jack for standard ear pieces.

Have not heard of anyone trying that yet on this board. There have been others that inquired about it, also.

If you try it, let us know your results.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hello, I just got my v3m today. I went through and did all the seem edits and installed the driver tool, and I can't get the USB transfer to work correctly. In MPT, I went and changed the modem to the CDMA v3m, but multimedia studio is still not an option listed. Does it show up in the main menu with the phonebook, calendar, etc? Maybe I just can't find it... all my other seems work correctly, it's just this one :( Any help will be appreciated.

hi rwsrichard!! I saw ppl asked the same question on howard.. they said.. verizon uses another type code to run java softwares on their phones. verizon sells a lot of games on their website.. let's say, if I bought one game from verizon "Get It Now".. and installed it to my V3m.. where should I find it from my phone and copy it to my PC?!! so that ppl can share it. then that will be awesome!!
I got one demo game from verizon Get it now.. I tried to look for it within Bitpim.. and just couldn't find it.. have you ever tried to look for the games' location?! thanks!!!!

It would be interesting to know where it is.

There are/is two windows to BitPim. Window one has your phonebook, calendar, etc... and an icon that says 'file system'. If you click on file system, the second window opens up.

If 'file system' is not listed, goto the menu in BitPim and click on view, then click on 'view file system'. The icon should show up at the bottom of window 1.

I would look through each and every folder in both windows. If you do this and find it, please let us know.

    Re: RAZR V3m

rws- I followed your instructions for setting up MPT. They worked fine and I got MPT up and running. Thanks. But I have one small problem that I hope you can help with. When I tried to transfer anything to my phone I get an error message that reads "Unable to communicate with phone".
Any thoughts on why this occurs and how to repair?

    Thanks.

Which version of MPT do you have? When installing, did it upgrade itself? If not, restart it and then go upgrade it.

If that does not work then you will have to SEEM the phone to allow the transfer of data (Turn on QBEX).
