Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

now when i unseem the motorola Animations start up and shutdown it doesnt show anything...but when u seem them it shows the original motorola startup with a Verzion Pictures after it and it says something about Verizon aGSP and when u shut down its an image that says Hello Moto with that pokadotted picture with the M logo (hard to describe but im sure u know what i mean)

EDIT----- Now if somehow i could get rid of that ____ty verizon picture thats about 1/3 the screen size during the start up i would be fine but i guess i gotta deal with this for now

Take a look at catchneyez's on pg 28 post 838. He has some specific setting for his phone and he said that he 'overwrote' the original files instead of deleting them. I wonder if that, plus the size has something to do with it?

Do you have the Music Essentials CD from Verizon?
If so I know how to make it see the V3M drivers.

MP3 files need to be converted to WMA (Windows Media Audio) files. This can be done by Media player 10 once you sync them with the phone.

If you are having problems adding new hardware coming up with V3C and not V3M here is the fix (If you have the CD from verizon).
Go to the control panel and find the system icon, go to the hardware tab and device manager, with the CD in and phone connected with the cable, click on the V3C icon till you see a tab that says update drivers, click and follow the directions same as the little card that came with the CD.
Once you are done it will change from V3C to Motorola USB Modem. This was how I was able to get mine to work properly. Hope this helps

I have just one question, I have read throught the entire 30+ pages of posts and have either overlooked it or it just isn't here yet. I want to know how to put ringtones directly on the transflash card. I have seemed and can transfer ringtones with MPT4 with no problem, but not to the transflash card. So how do I do this???

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

For files too large for the for the phone to handle, you take the SD card and put it in a adapter, if needed and then put it in a computer. From there you can copy files over.

here is some helpful hints taken straight from the User's Manual. I have tried them all and they do work, so give it a shot.

    Notes:
For a NEW tansFlash SD card you MUST format it in the phone and not PC.
    1.) Menu -> Settings & Tools -> System -> Device Info -> Storage Devices
2.) Select Trans-T-Flash then choose 'options'
    3.) Select 'format'

A.) 'File' includes pics, movies, audio clips, etc...
B.) If 'file' has an "C" next to or on the 'file' then that means it is already on the transFlash card.
C.) If 'file' has an "L" next to or on the 'file' then that means the phone-system requires it and it CANNOT be moved.
D.) If there is not "C" or "L" next to or on the 'file' name,
then it can be moved from phone to transFalsh card.

To MOVE pictures and movies from phone to TransFlash Card.
    1.) Menu -> Get Pix & Flix
2a.) Select 'My Pix' for pictures OR
2b.) Select 'My Flix' for movies
3.) Scroll to the 'file' you want to move and choose 'options'
4.) Select 'move' and press 'ok'
5.) Select 'yes' and press 'ok', when prompted to move 'file'

To MOVE audio files from phone to TransFlash Card.
1.) Menu -> Get It Now -> Get Tunes & Tones
2.) Scroll to the 'file' you want to move and choose 'options'
3.) Select 'move' and press 'ok'
4.) Select 'yes' and press 'ok', when prompted to move 'file'

Download the file from pg 20 post 584.

Look under the section labeled: Check for the Motorola driver.

It gives you step-by-step on how to check the Motorola USB Modem status.

Do you have a memory card installed? Other users have commented about difficulties syncing without a card and the problem going away after a card was installed.

There are instructions on the Wiki (http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php) for changing the web browser homepage to your own address. I would like to change it to the address of my VZW Mobile Web favorites.

Does anyone know the address for the favorites?

Anybody want to help me figure out what the problem is between my computer and cell phone, Ive followed all of the music essentials kit instructions but the Found New Hardware tool will not recognize my cell phone, which will not let me sync with windows media player 10. I know there must be some problem with the Usb Drivers and Found New Hardware Wizrd, if you want to help just PM me cuz there is already way tooooo much going on in this thread.

Windows media player will take care of the conversion for you when it puts it on the phone.

What conversion program from VZW did you get?

my windows media plyer takes like 3 mins a song to convert so i just downloaded a converter off of Download.com and it works well, now im just fiddling around with my music and stuff on the phone, my next undertaking will be to try and get some music vids on my phone, if there is a page in here somewhere for that, it would be nice to see.

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Hey i got a New RAZR v3c phone, and im kinda confused with using it as a music player

I connect it to my usb port in my tower, and go into windows media player, im getting ready to syn my phone with it. But windows media player does not see my phone as a device.

it says "No device attached, press F5 to attach a device"
    or something along those lines

How do i get my razr phone connected with Windows media player

i just got it updated at the verizon store hopping i would get this "Sync" option in my tune & tones section in get it now...but i didnt get it. I later went back there, but they said i needed to format my phone with windows media player...how would i do that?

    Help

Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

Need to install the appropriate software/drivers to get it to work.

Try Music Essentials CD from Verizon and you will probably hae to get the updated driver off of VZW.

There is also Motorola Phone Tools (MPT), that lets you do more with the phone by working with phonebook, calendar, multimedia, etc...

On this thread you can do a search for DriverTool, that should take care of your problem. If not, goto VZW website and download the driver from there.
