    Willy: Test Mode is a programming mode for your phone. It has an option to Launch a GPS Session (although I haven't gotten this to work yet), along with other phone programming menus, some of which are probably not so good for the health of your phone. For instance, I have been using my old v710 as a testing ground for test mode, and last night I put it into "Panic Mode". Although I only spent 5 minutes trying last night before going to bed, there was no obvious way to get it out of Panic Mode that I could see. So watch out, cause it would suck to put your new V3m into Panic Mode, or something similar. As far as I can tell, there isn't much you can change at the moment in Test Mode, however it does look like it might list different seems that are present on the phone. More research is required though to see what is possible with Test Mode.

    Not sure what you mean. I did use BITPIM with this configuration and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. Sorry it was of no help to you. Keep trying.

    My sttings are as follows:

    In the BitPim Settings window I have AUTODETECT AT STARTUP & BITFILING ENABLED checked.

    In the Phone Model Window I have ALL for Carriers checked, All for Manufactuer checked and for Model I have V710M checked the click nexct and then click finish.

    Hope this helps. It fixed my problem and hope it is of use to others.

    I am a new owner of a v3m, and have been reading this forum up and down for a few days and still have a couple of questions. Why is it that the music player will not play over bluetooth headphones? Is there a hack for it, if not, will there ever be? I don't understand how this could possibly hurt Verizon's sales, it seems like a great way to listen to mp3's errr uh WMA's. I can get past all of they stupid advertisements and what not they put on the phone, i just want to listen to music over bluetooth! Anyone have ideas or suggestions?

    I am running Windows XP as well. I did not use auto I clicked on the correct comm port for my phone, however auto should work as well. One more thing, when you boot up BITPIM it might say "NO PHONE DETECTED/RECOGNIZED, RUN SETTINGS" click NO if you get this. I click NO and surprisingly BitPim works fine.

    Tito and jcradio

    look at pg 18 post 539 for a quick how to with BitPim Or

    look at pg 20 post 584 for a downloadable file with screenshots. If you follow either post EXACTLY, you should not have any problems.

    rosenjon - fyi and wiki site

    How to convert V3m phone time to Military time.

    Start MSU and connect phone via MSU
    minimize MSU screen
    Start P2K and SEEM the phone to:
    offset = 008d
    bit = 6
    set = 1 (put check mark here - this is on)
    click on save/load to phone button
    exit P2k
    end and exit MSU
    disconnect phone from cable and computer

    Then turn off phone for few seconds.
    Turn on phone. then:

    Menu -> Setting & Tools -> Initial Setup -> Time & Date

    Autoupdate - change this to OFF
    Highlight the time -> Change
    Scroll to am/pm
    up arrow changes the time to am/pm/24 hr
    Click on OK to save changes
    Autoupdate change back to ON

    You be done!
    Enjoy

    Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    Hi all, I have spent hours pouring over this lovely 30 page conversation. Thanks to all your help, I've been able to customize my phone successfully in nearly every way. I just need a little help with the startup and shut down sounds and animations. I found the directions, posted on how to change the animations and sounds, but I want to get rid of them entirely. Is that possible?

    I changed the animations to static pictures, but that's not working too well. On start up, the pic shows for a second and then there are several seconds of blank screen. On shut down, the pic shows for a second and then the phone turns off halfway through the shut down sound.

    One last set of questions. On the following edits:

    x Offset 1D Bit 3 - Motorola Startup Animation - check to enable, uncheck for "logo only" Is this animation in addition to the verizon one or instead of?

    Offset 23 Bit 5 - Roaming Call Guard(Settings > In Call Setup > Call Guard) - Check to enable. I was under the impression that there was no roaming with verizon

    Offset 31 Bit 0 - Motorola Shutdown Animation - check to enable. Is this a mistake? I think it's supposed to be bit 1

    Something "willy 2900" mentioned got my attention. It was a post about another problem, but it made sense in this case.
    PLUG THE USB CABLE INTO THE BACK OF THE COMPUTER, NOT THE FRONT. Everything works great now!
    Thanks, Willy 2900!

    Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    As far as getting rid of the sounds, I think you could just have a sound file that has no sound.

    As for the animations, Im not sure, but I think the whole point is that the phone is taking time to startup and is just showing something while that happens, so I don't see the point of killing it entirely. I guess you could create a movie with a black screen if it really bothers you.

    Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    The first quote also includes the DATE as well. Just substitute the DATE in place if TIME. they both work hand-in-hand.

    While you are SEEMING the phone make sure that:

    offset = 0000
    bit = 0
    set = 1 or checked

    This is for Menu: auto update on

    Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    The shut down process is virtually instantaneous if you don't have to wait for the entire animation and sound to play. Startup seems to be a different story, however, so I guess that animation is okay. But I still need to kill the sound.

    Is there a way to display a static pic for the entire time the animation would be playing? I replaced the animation gif with a shot from the digital camera, but it is only displayed for a second or so.

    Re: RAZR V3m

    I got a copy of motorola phone tools that was rather old but was able to update it and get it current. Then I followed rosenjon's instuctions to set up MPT to see the phone as a V3cm. *poof* Multimedia icon showed up and I am able to crop/transfer any mp3 or image to the phone using motorola phone tools. MPT works great for mp3's and once cropped and transfered it is available to set as a ringtone.**provided you have done the proper seem edits FIRST**

    Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    Hi RWS!

    I was able to seem the phone and now have the option to change the date and time, however, I don't see the option for "autoupdate" off or on. And ... here's the kicker ... everytime I turn the phone off and then on the date LOSES 5 DAYS!!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Re: Motorola RAZR ( CDMA versions v3c v3m ) post your questions here

    There are the following autoupdate/date&time SEEM's:

    This one turns the autoupdate on/off in the menu.
    offset = 0000
    bit = 0
    set = checked

    There is another one that does Date_Time autoupdate:
    I do not not know why this is turned OFF. Looks like it should be turned ON.
    offset = 0055
    bit = 2
    set = unchecked

    Then there is the Menu Item: Date & Time Menu:
    This allows you to change from am/pm/24hr
    offset = 008d
    bit = 6
    set = checked

    Anyone of those could be your problem.

    Does anyone know how to unlock the pics that came preloaded in the phone? I can't seem to delete them, even with bitpim.
