Wow, I'm glad you got it working. I went to the Verizon Wireless Store today. I saw the V3m. It's the same color as the V3c. I saw the SD cards and the kit. Can't wait to get mine!;)

    Re: RAZR V3m

yeah the v3m is cool. if you are going to get the music essentials kit (which is the only thing that I can find that has the v3m drivers until i upload the drivers) you should be able to get it working. if you are going to put your own music on the phone, i would definately suggest getting the expansion TF card because the phone only has room for about 3-4 songs which if you are using it as a replacement mp3 player that won't work too good lol

yes... the razr v3m has a TransFlash or also called a MicroSD card expansion slot. the v3m doesn't come with the card it has to be purchased separately.

    Re: RAZR V3m

yeah, i'm going to get a 1gb as soon as i can get to best buy. there is no reason not to get that size unless you really don't have the cash... it's like if you were to get the 256 (sandisk.com: 29.99) why not 4x the compacity and only pay 59.99 for the 1gb??

    Re: RAZR V3m

OK when i plug the phone in when it's not turned on, my computer recognizes it as a USB modem. It will charge and the drivers install like the instructions say it should. But, whenever i go to sync music on get tunes and tones it recognizes it as motorola razr v3c and the drivers won't install. I'm starting to get frustrated with this. How'd you do it wickdaddy?

Yeah I did a system restore to get rid of all the drivers back to before i bought the phone and it will install the USB modem but it won't install Motorola V3c!!!!!!
I really am just stuck now.......
When it does try to install V3c it shows a question mark for the icon and won't find the friggin drivers!
If ANYONE has any ideas give them to me because I am stumped..........

you have the v3m or the v3c??? if you have the v3m, do the restore to the point where you don't have any drivers installed and just follow the instructions that i previously posted.

    Re: RAZR V3m

that was exactly what i did and it still won't install i'm starting to think it's the phone
I know it's a v3m though, it has a micro sd port, plus it says that on the box
I may just call verizon or something because it pisses me off that i paid 50 extra for something that doesn't work

    Re: RAZR V3m

what the heck... alright, so I was able to put 3 songs on my phone's memory and it worked fine. so then i went out and got a 1gb TF card put it in the phone (dang those are small!) and the phone recognized it, but when i hooked the phone to the computer it wouldn't work. so i popped the card it, hooked up the phone and synced it fine. then threw some wma's on the tf card popped it back into the phone and the phone recognized that there was songs on the card, but gave an error when trying to play them. now, i can't even get the phone to connect without the TF card in... what in the world is going on???

Did you install the VCast Music assistant program thing in the second step on the music essentials? It will automatically rename files for you but this thing is screwed up i think.

    Re: RAZR V3m

yes i did get it working through the memory stick yesterday. my problem was that the mp3 to wma converter that i had wasn't converting it to the right wma format (all my music is in mp3). so, i went to the add on's for WMP10 and found a free mp3 to wma converter here.
after you dl it, and click through the license agreement you will come to a screen and you need to choose 'reinstall all components'. this will install the mp3 to wma converter. after it's done installing, just go to start>all programs>Windows Media Bonus Back for Windows XP>Plus! MP3 Audio Converter LE this will correctly convert your songs for playing on the v3m.
    1. now, pop your mSD card out of the phone, put it in the adapter and put it in your computer.
    2. open up the card in WMP10 by clicking on the sync tab.
    3. there should already be a folder named "Music". if there is not, create a folder named "Music" because this is where you are going to put all your newly converted wma songs.
    4. pick your songs from the library and then sync them into the "Music folder"
    5. when you are done syncing, close WMP10, put your mSD card back in the phone and go to Get Tunes and Tones>Manage Music this should automatically initialize your library of songs database (fancy for it's putting your music in order by album and artist).
    6. Now, just go to anyone of the buttons (e.g. artist, songs, play all, genre, etc) and start playing your music

    i'm so freaking lost

ok so i've had my V3M for a couple days now. i just got my TF card in the mail, threw an mp3 on it and of course i have no idea how to get it to even play. from what i've been reading...is it true that the only way i can get any of my mp3's to play is to buy the data cable from verizon?

AIM - three60grab if anyone wants to give me a hand live.

P.S. - verizon is the spawn of satan

    Re: i'm so freaking lost

Umm I actually don't think you need to buy the data cable and software if you can plug the SD card into your computer. I wouldn't know yet though but it seems logical (haha spock). I haven't received my Micro SD card yet so I can't confirm this. If you're having problems i'd say it's because you can't play mp3's they have to be wma format. Follow Wickdaddy's instructions above it will probably work.

On another note, thanks for the info wickdaddy this makes me happy because I have an SD port! Thanks a lot!

    Re: RAZR V3m

i actually did get the music on my sd card to be recognized/played on my phone. of course i had to convert them all to WMA. no biggie. however i was on the phone with verizon for at least an hour trying to figure out why i can't sync my phone with WMP 10. i followed the above tutorial as well. computer makes the noise as if a USB device has been connected but when i go to sync the phone from the get it now menu, it gives me a connection failed error. tells me to check my cable connection. DUMB!

so that guy couldn't figure it out and passed me to someone else who ended up telling me i had to buy the music pack thing from the verizon store because it has all the necessary cables and drives, yadda yadda yadda. i asked him if i could just convert the songs to WMA on my computer then transfer them to the TF card. he said, no. that's not allowed. DUMB x 2!!!

the problem about syncing the phone still persists though.

PS...verizon is still the spawn of satan

    Re: RAZR V3m

i got the usb cable thing to work 2x and now i can't get it to recognize my phone anymore. I don't know what is up, but the software and drivers from Verizon are a waste of time if you have a mSD card. all you have to do is mvparker79 is convert your songs to WMA because the phone won't play anything else and then you can even just use windows explorer to transfer your new WMAs to the mSD card, but make sure you put them in a folder named "my_music". this will get your phone to recognize them. and be sure to go to the manage music section of Get Tunes and Tones. This will initialize your library and catagorize your songs.
