I heard around $259 for one year pricing which would put retail in the neighborhood of $459-$499. That sounds almost too good to be true, though. At the one- and two-year price points this phone is going to fly off the shelves...

That should be about right. Moto sells the Verzion Q without a plan for $449.99 on their web page.

Yeah. A customer service rep told me that they were having some issues that the technical guys were working on with not ETA. There have been rumours that the Q has been freezing up. Maybe it somehow relates to this. The new Q due out in a couple of months looks pretty sweet. It runs windows mobile 6.0. So maybe I'll just plan on getting that when it rolls out.

From what i have heard the Moto q for alltel has been pushed back maybe indeffinatly From i understand there is a major failure rate 60 percent or so which means 6 out of 10 Qs are going back. From what i was told somthing about a Q pro which is black, and i think it will be like a rubbery surface to it.

    Check it out:

    http://www.store.motorola.com

Click on "MotoQ" in the left hand column and look at the first one on the list. Notice the "In Stock." Any guinea pigs out there with an extra $500???

60% failure rate? Due to Motorola's software or Alltel's? Why isn't this affecting Verizon's Q's?

But I can't believe how only Alltel is getting this problem and not Sprint and Verizon. It must be some little bug in Alltel's firmware on the Q. I don't think that it is Moto's problem....but I've been wrong before.

One of the keys to getting a phone released within a week or two is Alltel actually having possession of the phones from the manufacturer. Contrary to some reports, Alltel in the past (I've been told) has not actually had any Qs delivered to them by Motorola.

I have heard $99.99 with a 24-month contract. This price may or may not involve some kind of rebate.

    Full Retail: $389.99
    12 Month: $259.99
    24 Month: $199.99+rebate*

Apparently the delay for the Q was caused by problems connecting it via Bluetooth to certain car handsfree kits manufactured by Denso. (Toyota, Lexus, Chrysler.) These issues still have not been fixed but should be corrected with a TBA software upgrade.

*Probably $100 rebate but I have no specific info on this.
