My pleasure Cephurs. To view the roof left, there a bunch of ways. You can go to Menu->Settings & Tools->System->Device Info->Storage Devices->Transflash orrrr When your at a certain audio/video file, u should be able to go into options and view storage space.

Yea, Im on Alltel v3c, so my tf card doesntr work. So my storage is the phones memory only. I dont use my razr for music/videos, so it doesnt matter to me. My razr has full bluetooth (sending/receiving bluetooth files instead of needing MPT), it has the Motorola UI instead of the Red Verizon UI, it has full custom skins, my battery lasts 4 days with about an hour of talking each day. But the downfall is it disables the tf card if u need it.

Howeverr, the Alltel V3m firmware JUST came out. I am in the process of trying to make it work so Verizon customers can use the cool Moto UI, have great bluetooth, AND STILL KEEP THE TF CARD!

Check this thread out -> http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/razr-phones/59804-alltel-v3m-firmare-released-ncr_01-1a.html

You will see that with the flash, the phone works for calls and text messaging. Currently, I am trying to get GIN, MMS, and WAP working. As soon as I or someone else come up with a flawless way, I wil release it here so Verizon users can use their phone to its abslutely FULLEST potential.

    Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to you and Marlin as well, heck anybody who reads this!

My thanks one more time Cincy. I just finished seeming the pinks for the girls and they are fully donald duck loaded. and charlottes web and ....

    Flawless after your tutorial.
How did you get so good? Verizon sales desk at one time? I used to work for qwerst.... anyhow thanks again.

Bluetooth was my original intention. I bought a dongle but am still waiting for it to show up. I had a mini usb cable with a camera and happened upon your posts...thank goodness.

I've been watching the post you mentioned, looking forward to following in your steps. Still reading up on WAP and the other abbreviations you are using. and finding more advantages to the whole bluetooth data xfer you speak of.
    Lead on!!! :notworthy :coolshade

I had never hacked or even knew about hacking when i bought this phone july 25. So all of my knowledge has been gained from sites liek this in a matter of 5 months.

As you know, bluetooth on the verizon v3m is limited at best. normal phones u can link to a bluetooth dongle and transfer files to and froom the phone and computer. however, verizon doesnt let us outside of the program MPT.

The Motorola UI lets u use bluetooth to transfer files for free (if u have a bluetooth dongle). It lets u access ur phones audio folder, etc.

Without getting to indulged, WAP is basically free internet on the phone. It doesnt let u browse with URL's, but we can set Google as a WAP (wireless access point) proxy. It only uses your minutes, so on weekends, it is free.

Ill tell you what, it isnt complicated, but there is a lot of info. Once I get this flash worked out, (trying to get it done tongith so i can relax tomorrow and monday), I will post info about using your phone to access the net for free (again, just uses minutes, so if it is night or weekend, it is REALLY free)

    Im confused?
I have a new silver Razr v3m from alltel in WI. Thats what it says on the back of the phone anyway.
I have installed MPT and it works just fine if I choose from the CDMA list v3cm and leave it at version 4.03b which is where my disc version is at.

When I update the software to 4.36 it will connect to my phone and opens up okay, but the only button that will work is the text message button the rest highlight when you float over them with my mouse but do open when clicked.
I think the new version thinks my phone is a v3mm which is possible. I say this because when I tell it to connect to another phone it says it is releasing v3mm .
So I cant get it to work with the updated software so I uninstalled and reinstalled MPT so it is back to 4.03b and all works fine again??
I tried the 2827 seem trick and it makes no difference either way.

    Thanks for any help...

now i have a new question, i went back into P2k Seem and i saw that i never saved the bluetooth usb thing for MPT in it, so i did that, saved ti to my phone. then i turned my phone off then back on. installed the usb modem driver, then i start up MPT. it says choose connection type i choose cable, then it says searching for modem may take up to 20-30 secs. then it goes away and the big blue box that says mobile phone tools powered by avanquest just sits there. and does nothing, the program wont open up it freezes. help would be appreciated.

    Hello,

I am new to this forum and just got a KRZR K1m thru Verizon yesterday.

I want to get the sync cable and Phone Tools software. Where is the best deal? I looked on the BVRP site but the code I found in another thread was not valid. and do I even need the same software or something different?

    I am such a newbie!!

Thanks for any and all help in advance.

    :)

I have a Verizon RAZR. Everytime I plug in the usb cable it wants to install the hardware again. Sometimes it is the MPT sometimes the composit USB. It is always something. I have done the seem edits and have been able to connect without regularity to Media Player 10. This is frustrating. I use the same USB port and cable every time. Any ideas?

Are you going through a USB hub or directly into the USB port on your PC? Hubs can cause weird things with phones.

I am using the port on the computer on the back. Not the hub. I am however using the cable that goes to the hub. It will work after I go through installing all the drivers again. and again. and again.

    HELP!

I followed the directions posted and I looked in the device manager. Everything seems fine (first motorola usb modem shows up, and then the three things under the Motorola USB devices show up). First I think that everything is fine, but my ESN# doesn't show up under MSU in the left hand side (it says that nothing is connected). Also, MSU then fails to respond and crashes after I plug my phone in. I have a Verizon razr.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

Cincyball, I did the 1ST update (from 4.03b), but after it installed, MPT will not detect the phone anymore. Nor does the DEVICE MANAGER. The MOTOROLA COMMUNICATION INTERFACE is YELLOW under OTHER DEVICES, and when I try to add it manually via ADD HARDWARE, it responds with THE DRIVERS FOR THIS DEVICE ARE NOT INSTALLED. Should I manually add A NEW HARDWARE DEVICE (choose MODEM, I assume)? Then, which driver should I use, because after installing the MPT UPDATE driver, it didn't indicate which folder it was installing them in, so when I do choose MODEMS, and it responds with WINDOWS WILL NOW TRY TO DETECT YOUR MODEM, it responds with WINDOWS DID NOT DETECT ANY NEW PLUG & PLAY MODEMS....CHOOSE FROM A LIST. The list shows: 1- %MOTOROLA%, which has just one choice "USB MOBILE PHONE". #2 choice, in the list is just plain MOTOROLA (without the % symbols). Under it are various drivers, the most obvious are MOTOROLA CDMA 1X MODEM, and MOTOROLA PHONE, and four MOTOROLA USB MODEM VERSION...2 are versions 1.0.0, dated 3/22/06, and two 3.4.0 also dated 3/22/06. Which of the above should I use? I'm sorry to send such a long quote, but I've been trying to get this thing to work for almost a week now to no avail. Your advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

    Hank,

Since this thread has been started, there is an even newer version of MPT out. Keep going to get it to 4.36. Even if it wont detect your phone, just do whatever u need to to get a fake phone to show up in the lower corner of the screen. Go into options and hit "check for updates" or something like that. Just get it up to 4.36. Once u do that, close out of MPT. Make sure no other programs are running, and turn off your phone. Plug it into the usb port, and let it automatically choose the correct drivers. If it still doesnt, try re-running driver tool 4.21a. If it recognizes and charges ur phone, go ahead and try MPT again. Let me know if u are still having problems. Out of curiosity, who is your service provider? Verizon?

No problem. Keep up the hacking ;)

    Cincyball,

I have followed your tutorial to the letter and it was great. Unfortunately, I went to a Hack the Razr website that listed other seems I could change. I tried them. Big problems! I figured I screwed up something in your settings, so I retrieved the original seem files I saved on my computer. I edited them again using the tutorial, and then saved them to the phone. Now when I try to restart the phone using P2Kseem, it starts to shut down but locks up before it finishes shutting down! AARRRGHHH!!!!

HELP!!!! What should/do I do from here???

    Hi,

I have a strange problem. I just upgraded two phones to Verizon Razor V3m phones.

I went through the process in the early part of this string on the silver V3m to enable file transfers and multimedia from MPT. It works great!

I have a second V3m Razor (pink) that will not work properly when it's plugged in while MSU is running. The silver one always prompts me to update all the drivers and then I see the ESN. The pink just starts all the different motorola drivers, never prompts for an update to the drivers, and then after about 20 minutes MSU says "the device is not powered up properly". If not running MSU, the phone does properly load the Motorola USB modem driver and charge....even MPT connects and works to the pink phone, but no multimedia capabilities!

I've gone through this over and over on several different computers and always the same result.

The only difference I can find in the phones so far is the S/W version listed on the phones themselves (and under the battery):

    silver == NEWC_01.05.0A MSU works!
    pink == NEWC_01.09.02 MSU fails!

any thoughts on how to make the SEEM edits on this troublesome pink
phone from the wise and noble forum here? :)

many thanks for the intructions posted earlier in this string!

I too have a Razr V3m with the NEWC_01_05_0A s/w, and I can work the various hacks to get the Multimedia suite displayed. But when I connect to the phone, none of the ringtones or music show up in either the melody maker or the file transfer section. It just shows empty folders, though when I look via the phone all the ringtones and music files are there.

If I use melody maker to edit an mp3 and upload it to the phone, the upload goes fine and I can see it with melody maker and file transfer, and I can see it on the phone, but it will not play. Just refuses to play the file at all.

What good is it to be able to get the file up on the phone if the phone refuses to play it? I've rebuilt the music database, and used Bitpim to delete the two .db files there and rebooted the phone, but nothing will make that thing play them.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Huh, it worked this time. I don't get it. So do I need to upgrade all the way to get it to recognize my V3m?
