    aliensanity,

    I did as you said and removed all traces of the motorola phone tools and any other motorola software and the phone was recognized and installed properly.

    I can charge the phone through the USB port and that is about all it does. I will go back to the begining and try out some of the information up front in order to get it going properly. I will post information as I move along.

    Thank You all for the help so far.

    ok, go into device manager, and u should see:

    Motorola USB Device
    ->Accessories Interface
    ->Data Logging MCU Interface
    ->Test Command Interface

    If so, proceed to install and run p2kseem.

    This is a post input by cincyball. There was no information for those that do not have this information showing. What do we do if that is the case for us. My V3M is charging, I have my ESN and cannot go any further right now.

    A little more help and we will be there.

    Thanks again,

    Dear ivbn4given,
    I'm sorry I left one little part out that might help. I also reset my phone. I don't know if it made a difference or not. Please forgive me

    HELP!! please...

    I followed the steps in the 1st 2 pages and everything worked great. No my computer won't recognize the phone under device manager I get the usb modem but with a yellow caution like if there were no drivers for it. I installed the drivers given in this thread. In the beginning I had the same problem and then I pluged the phone on a different usb port and bam it started charging. Now I've tried all 8 of my usb ports and none work. I don't know what I did wrong.

    Thanks

    I recommend that you delete all traces of the motorola phone tools and all traces of motorola that may be on the computer. Then follow the steps again; after I deleted all traces of motorola, I followed the steps and it worked great for me.

    ^^^Agreed, but one thing I would do is install MPT first and update it prior to installing the drivers. If you install the drivers first then update MPT you drivers get hosed some times because the MPT drivers don't work correctly which is why you need to use the Moto drivers instead

    I'm looking at staying with Verizon now that my wife and I have Dock-N-Talk at home using her phone - reception with my current phone stinks in the house.

    Anyway, I'm looking at getting MOTOKRZR K1m and wondering if these same steps on pages 1-2 work for this phone OR is there something different to be done, but in a similar fashion?

    Thanks, Michael

    Hey, thanks for all the great information here. I have a KRZR k1m and I have successfully made the 2 seem edits, and the MPT now shows the Media Studio... But I am unable to transfer any images (.jpg) or music (.mp3) or anything for that matter to the phone. I get the following error: Request denied by phnone (Unsupported media type (0x4F)).

    I have MTP 4.5.6a and a KRZR k1m I bought in December 2007. My provider is Verizon :rolleyes:

    Is there a missing seem edit? First edit was "Bluetooth or USB file transfer in MPT", but this was already checked. The Phone software version is 24.1_01.19.05.

    IF you can help or assist at all with this, that would be GREAT.

    Jim

    I been truying for days & days to fight this battle.

    I just got the latest Motorola Phonetools & installs ok & when it asks

    all then I get this message while modem installing found new hardware
    motorola USB composite Device then I get cannot install hardware fatal
    error. I tried all my USB ports & on my other PC same thing. I
    uninstalled & reinstall the program several times & about to through
    this phone in the trash..

    i googled on this found several others having this issue but no
    answer.

    I want to add music & all & change my wallpaper etc but i cant get PC
    to install it. I went to motorola web site & downloaded seperate

    I have seemed my KRZR K1m just as this thread directed, and I have updated MPT, but when I activate MPT, I get the message "Initializing . . . Please wait"; I also see "Communication port unavailable". What do I need to do to resolve this?

    I am having trouble with my P2K Commander. Right after it loads the files from my phone, I get a message that it must shut down. What am I doing wrong? Is there some other way to download ringtones to my KRZR K1m>

    Cincyball,
    I have been reading this thread, and I was wondering if the fix in posts 21 - 77? will work with my new Alltel Motorola Razor V3a. I am assuming yes, but I thought I would ask before messing around with it.

    Motorola Phone Tools - do I have to buy?

    Ok I've read the first 80 or so posts, and last ones on page 27, and I'm just wondering, do you have to purchase the Motorola Phone Tools? I'm cheap...
    I see it sold in vaious places, but is that a convience thing, or you can get it from Verizon for free?

    Please let me know, my v3m and Krzr are coming in the next day or two for use with Verizon. Want to be able to use them for music.
    I still don't have the microSd cards, but I'll get those ASAP.

    Sounds like I have to go through all this stuff to allow the phone to work properly, and download songs, ringtones, etc. Oh-well.

    This is a really great site BTW!:browani:

    I have gone over the steps listed, and am now able to tranfer pictures, but not Ringtones. My new Verizon Wireless Silver RAZR V3m SW version is 24.1_01.19.07

    I found a comment in the forums at Hack theRAZR.com that mentions that Verizon has found a way to not allow the Seem edit to take effect with their latest SW version. Is that possible, or did I miss something?

    I'm having the exact same issue. I went through the first posts and did it all step by step, I can now see the muiltimedia icon, but it tells me "Request denied by phone (Unsupported media type (0x4F)" when I try to upload a song. ( I tried it as an MP3 and a wav, just to make sure.)

    Is this due to the verison update someone mentioned a few psosts back?

    Thoughts, comments, suggestions?
    Thanks
    Rev
