yep, as long as it says connected in the lower left hand corner. if so, in the lower right side of the screen, there is a "load" box. Next to seem, type 2742. Leave record as 1. Then above that, change bytes to 0000. Then hit load from phone.

ok, now we are going to do the 2 seem edits to get your phone to work with mpt and multimedia.

    1) enable USB file transfer. scroll down to the row 000060. Then use the right arrow until u get to Offset 006a. The top box (Bit 0) should be empty, and it should say Bluetooth or USB file transfer in MPT and E815 BT OBEX. Checkmark that box to turn it on

    Once done, let me know

Once you get that seem loaded and saved, we can change it.

Go to offset 0006. Then checkmark the boxes 0,2,3,6. Leave 1,4,5,7 empty. If u look in the upper right hand corner, u should now see:

    V.3.m.M.........................................

Once u do that, click save to phone, when asked to verify, click yes again.

Now we have successfully changed 2 seem edits. The 1st enabled usb file transfer. This 2nd one will enable multimedia auto-detection for the phone as a v3mM (where the last M stands for multimedia)

Once done, and u have saved this to the phone, click Restart Phone. It will go thru a series of events. Once it says connected in the lower left corner again, u can close out of p2k seem ,and MSU, and unplug ur phone, plug it back in. Start MPT and u should see multimedia automatically enabled!

yea, the phone doesnt play .wav files, haha. What folder were u sending it to? If you are sending to the audio folder, it should be in mp3 format. thats where u will find them with ringtones and u can apply whatever mp3 file u puit, as a ringtone. i suggest only a 30 second clip because the phone will kick to voicemail after ringing for about 30 seconds. any longer and u wont hear it anyways, and it ill just be awaste of space! ;)

Verizon disabled certain features on our phones. They do it in what we call seem files. So we load up the phone's seem files and turn these features back on. In this case, we must turn 2 things back on...the ability to send data thru the usb cable, and the ability for mpt to see our phone to allow the media function in mpt. (there are many more things we can turn back on, but u fill find that out later)

Please follow the steps in Post #24 thru Post #44 to the "t". If you do those steps I walked that guy thru with, u will be able to use MPT to its fullest capabilities.

Good idea walking the guy through in the posts. I'm sure there are many unposted thanks out there.

I have followed your instructions, and I still can't get it to work. The process breaks for me at step #36. I have actually been working on this for days now, reading posts everywhere trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

In general, all tools, including P2KSeem, can find my phone initially, but when it comes to doing things to it like saving the phonebook, using p2kcommander, etc. I just get lots of hangs. In the case of P2KSeem, I click 'Load from phone' and the huge white box on the left side remains blank. In the lower left corner it always says, 'Connected'.

I don't know if this helps, but when I unplug my phone after having attempted to use it over USB I find that when I shut it down it hangs with a white screen. The only way to recover is to remove the battery and then put it back in.

Very simple fix, and it is easy to overlook. By the sounds of it, you are not running MSU BEFORE opening p2kseem or p2kcommander. Reference post #30 for the following: Plug in your phone, it will be seen as a modem. THEN open MSU and it will install 4 drivers upon the 1st time running this program. MSU puts the phone into the proper suspend mode so you can use p2kseem or p2kcommander. Leave MSU running and then open p2kseem and you will then be able to use them without it hanging.

Wow, L2ReadInstructions! Thank you! Yes, that solved the problem. A few things that I learned:

    1. If you have functions.csv open when running p2kseem, it will crash when you click 'load from phone'.
    2. If you have an old version of MPT (3.11), then it will not work out of the box with this phone. I had to go to General Setup->Communication->Change Modem and choose the generic CDMA phone. I'm guessing that if I get a newer version that I won't have problems (it was unable to initialize the phone).

    1. You shouldnt need functions.csv open. I have never used that. Just open MSU then P2Kseem and u should be good to go

    2. The newest version of MPT is 4.36. You dont have to pay for it, you can update your MPT when u have it open. Keep in mind, it WILL NOT jump to the newest version. You must update it each time until you get to MPT 4.36 ENU. Also, once you do that, it will install the older USB driver. Use the DriverTool4.21a I have attached at the bottom to make sure you are running the newest usb driver. Once you update to 4.36, it will auto detect your phone as v3mm (as long as u did those 2 seem edits i described in the earlier posts).

Let me know if you need any more help.

Nope, you NEED sp2. You can use PST in place of MSU, but it requires the same sp2. What version of windows are u running?

I get to step 38 ok, but my screen shows:

    row 000060, but there is no 6a to the right. The colums are co 37 87 99 7a e4 8f fb e1 01 e2 00 00 ba c5 4f and the Selected byte details are:
    Offset: 0060
Bit 0 – 3rd line text if active gprs exists – on (checked)
    Bit 1 – Menu: Java DNS-IP – show – on (checked)
Bit 2 – Menu: Java DNS – IP- edit – off (unchecked)
Bits 3, 6, and 7 are checked without any text

What should I do next. I have a Verizon 3m and I am trying to get music from my computer to the razr. I have downloaded/updated motorola phone tools.

    Thank you

Ok, you are very close :) If you look above those Bit boxes (where it says selected bit details), u will see it says Offset 0060. As you use the right arrow to go across the box on top, u will see the offset go from 0060 -> 0061 -> 0062 ->... until u get to 006a. Thne thats where u check mark Bit 0. Below is a screen shot showing u in more detail
