First, thank you Cincyball, I just received your message. Hard to find responses in thread. Heres my situation , Anyone want a puzzle to solve? V3m driver is still working (because phone charges when USB is hooked up) right?..... But, when I attempt to open my (mobile phone tools) application fails. It wants to install mobile phone tools. (with no success) It wants to update, with no success (error message pop-up) Setup.exe Error signature AppName:setup.exe AppVer:12.0.0.49974 ModName:setup.exe ModVer:12.0.0.49974 Offset:0001e48b, and then something about driver, I tried to copy/paste in here but pop-up message would not copy.

To Cincyball, my S/W version is NEWC_01.05.0A

This all started when transferirng music (ringtone) to phone. 3 songs went great, 4th one stopped. Phone would not respond to (phone tool program) after that.
I even shut down CA EZ Firewall (just to see) NADA, NOPE, didn't do the trick.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, -Geoff

No, they post in order. Either the email response was slow, or it was from another thread? As for your problem, it sounds like it is your comps problems. I would uninstall everything MPT and re-isntall it again. Your drivers are fine if ur phone is charging.

    To elaborate on my problem,
It prompts me to install the drivers, but instead of automatically finding them, it says there are no drivers for the device. :loony:

Is there a way I can manually select them?

I will check, but shouldn't they all be the same? They were purchased at the same time? Or does that not matter?

Yea, strange enough, you could buy a silver v3m and a pink v3m right now, and the silver will have s/w NEWC_1.05.01, and the pink will have NEWC_1.09.02... Not sure why. But w/ that said, I have heard many people have probs with drivers with the pink with newer s/w versions. I am checking into it now.

When u see the phone image in the lower right corner...click on the center button (menu), then go into Options -> Version....oir something similar ot that. I dont have it open right now to check exactly. But he was referring to checking the version of s/w on his phone.

Question of the night, Does anyone know if I can make YAHOO! go 2.0 work with my Verizon v3m? I noticed that the Motorola RAZR V3xx Cingular works with YAHOO! go. Software download?
    Thanks, Geoff

YAHOO! go 2.0 is the newest web browser for mobile devices. It looks close to normal PC browsing. Any-who, I would like to install it to phone. If at all possible.

I am facing the same situation. I'm trying to have the Motorola software recognize my Verison RAZR V3m. I tried the procedure outlined here:

When it informs you that it doesn't find the phone It will ask if you want to check for updates, click no, it will then ask if you want to set up the phone manually, click yes, select the Motorola USB Modem, click next and then select Motorola CDMA and in the list select Motorola V3cm.

But when I look at the CDMA list, there is no listing for the Motorola V3cm!

I'd appreciate any help to find out how to have my software recognize the Verizon RAZR. Thanks very much!

Where in this thread does it say that? This thread is designed for you to edit you seems so that MPT AUTOMATICALLY recognizes your phone. Please tell me what you have done so far using the information in the first couple pages of this thread.

The only two Verizon phones it says can use this or any program like this, are the RIM BlackBerry 7130e, and the RIM BlackBerry 8703e. The razr really is only designed for WAP use. You can set up a FREE WAP web session on your phone where it uses Google as a proxy. It will only use your minutes...so the daytime it just uses air time, and night it is completely free -> http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php?page=WAP2

Thank you, Cincyball, for your reply.

I've now got the latest version of the MPT installed (4.3.6c) and it recognizes my Razr V3m. What I'm trying to accomplish is being able to transfer some .jpg files onto the phone that I can use as wallpaper. I'd also like to perhaps use some .mp3 files as ringtones.

Will regaining the MultiMedia Studio icon accomplish this? With that icon, will I be able to transfer .jpg pictures, for example?

I've been reading the thread from the beginning and I can try and edit the seem file in order to accomplish this.

    Thanks for your input!

Yes, absolutely. The two seem edits on that 2nd page of this thread are required to enable usb data transfer, AND turn on multimedia where u can create and upload ur own custom jpegs and ringtones!

If u have a question, dont hesitate to ask.

Does this seem editing also work with a Motorola RAZR v3m through Alltel? Anyone familiar with how to get my Alltel RAZR to be recognized through WMP10?? My RAZR is recognized as a 'Motorola USB modem' but I can't seem to get WMP10 to sync with the RAZR. I've read through multiple groups and POSTS but all seem related to either Verizon or Sprint. I need some Alltel help! Thanks in advance!!! ;)

Hey, yes, the seem editing applies to the Alltel, but u wont need it because Alltel doesnt cripple their phones like Verizon does.

As for syncing with WMP10, you cannot do it. I have a Verizon V3m, BUT as u can see in my signature, I have installed the Alltel firmware. There is no sync option on the Alltel V3M. The only way I have found to put music on the phone, is to get a transflash card, format it in the phone, take the card out and put it in a card reader, and all your mp3's into the /motorola/shared/audio folder. Put the card back in, and you can listen to your music that way/create playlists.

But for now, no WMP :(

Thanks for the info CindyBall!! Ultimately, I'm trying to create my own ringtones. I was hoping to use WMP10 to upload mp3's to my phone. I'm guessing the transflash method would be used to upload my own ringtones, correct??

It's Cincyball...cant count how many people call me Cindy, haha

Yes, you can crop down your favorite song (to about 30 seconds +/-...any longer and u are wasting space since voicemail picks up), take your ALREADY formatted card from your phone, browse to the /motorola/shared/audio folder, place your cropped mp3 ringtones, put the card back in the phone, go into media gallery, switch dtorage devices to see the contents of the card, mark the ones u want, and select move, and choose the phone memory (ringtones MUST be stored on phones memory to have the option "apply as ringtone").

Orrr, if you dont have a card reader, you download a program called BitPim. You can view your phone's file system. Browse to the /mmc1/motorola/shared/audio folder and add your files that way as well, then go to media gallery and move them to the card, and apply as ringtone. It will save you the steps of having to remove the memory card. It is trickier to get the phone detected by BitPim, but this is the method I would use if I didnt have Motorola Phone Tools (MPT)

None that I have used. The reason is because my MPT will do this for me. The only one I have tried is Audacity. But Im sure if you use google, you can find a good free program.

I am trying to carefully follow the steps outlined in earlier posts in order to enable Multimedia icon in MPT, the latest version. I think I might have messed up earlier. I downloaded *and installed* the Motorola Software Update program and also installed the P2Kseem program. I think the tutorial tells us to first plug in the Razr into the USB port and make sure the phone is on, and THEN install these two programs. Am I correct in that?

If so, how should I now correct this? I have uninstalled the MSU program using Window's Add-Remove feature, but I can't find a way to uninstall the P2Kseem program. Is it necessary to uninstall the P2Kseem program before I can proceed.

The way I've done it so far is resulting in the MSU not recognizing that a phone is presnet (there's also no ESN number displayed) and P2KSeem indicates that there's no phone connected.

I'm also wondering how to find out exactly what version of software I've got on my pink RAZR. When I look at the items listed under Settings and Tools on the phone, I can't find one that has the software version in it: I've got these items listed:

    1. Tools
    2. Sound Settings
    3. Airplane mode
    4. Display
    5. System
    6. Call Settings
    7. Initial Setup
    8. Connections

    Thanks for the input!
