Here is the link I point everyone to regarding movies... http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php?page=Movies
Same thing: nothing. The file is present, but when you click the play button nothing happens. It doesn't act as though it's playing the file, but no sound is coming from the phone; it just blinks from "play" to "stop" and back immediately. Could there be something about the file itself that prevents it from being played? Could there be a possibility that it might be a license issue, as the original .mp3 shows on my PC's music library as being from "College Football's Greates Fight Songs"? Would there be any warning from the phone if one were attempting to use a license-protected file as a ringtone? Maybe I sould try a file I ripped directly from a CD into an mp3 as a test?
It could very well be a protection issue. There wouldnt be any kind of warning. SO yea, test cd rip would be good. Also, sorry, but I just have to ask... you dont have the phone on silent or vibe do you? It might sound silly, but it has happened before.
Does anyone in here have a Sprint V3m? I have MPT4.36, but the phone still reads as a v3m not a v3mm. I m having trouble getting songs to play as well as linking WM11 TO phone. When I use the MTP fix or the device tools update CINCYBALL suggests, it makes the phone unreadable by MPT and asks me to reinstall software. The weird thing is the computer shows a device detected in the botton right of the screen.I also dont see the get music/sync icon either. What am i doing wrong. Im a newbie sorry if this is the wrong forum
Nah, I can hear the other tones and music just fine. Good thought, though. Dumber things have happened. I'll try a ripped file this evening and see how that goes.
You need to have the phone's software to its most up to date version as well. Make sure ur phones software is 24.2_00.37.00. Check this thread for more info -> http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/razr-phones/59121-my-new-sprint-razr-v3m-please.html As for WMP11, do not use the mtpfix. That is designed for the Verizon V3M if u read further thru the thread.
Mine did the same thing at first. When using the P2K seem, Up in the upper right corner where it says v3m......... ,Arrow over to where the other M should be, (mouse click or use arrows) and then go down to "check off" the boxes listed (earlier) in this thread, After said boxes are checked, It will now say v3mM........ up there in the right corner. Finish with the save to phone. I hope this helps. -Geoff
Geoff, the Sprint V3m is different. They do not need to do that seem edit. All they need is two things. Make sure their phone's software is up to date. And make sure MPT is up to date, and MPT works flawlessly. Verizon is the only company that disables these features.
Sorry, I was not aware of that. It sounded like the same thing I went through. (Sorry about the wrong info.)
Thanks for all the help. MPT works great. Now I can get cool tones without getting ripped off from Alltel Axess.
Could someone with a working seem file for a verizon v3m simply upload their seem file, or would problems arise? Sorry about the user name, every user name I tried before it was rejected. Anyway I've been trying to get my verizon razr v3m connected and able to sync multimedia for a few days now, and last night got it to connect and it had the option to sync contacts but still no multimedia. I tried some seem edits from hacktherazr to get me that far, and today decided to try the seem edits you (Cincyball) listed for wcolton on page 2. I loaded the backup seem file I saved before editing with the hacktherazr edits onto the phone and noticed it took off my last 4-ish rows of variable data (no idea what I'm talking about). Since loading the backup p2k seem won't give me the hex codes when I click load from phone now and er idk what to do. So, why can't we share seem files within same service provided phone models?
Are u sure u are running MSU before opening p2kseem? Also, sharing seems isnt a problem, especially the 2742 seem. I would upload mine, but I have flashed to Alltel, so it will be a little different I believe.
good call, I can now load phone hexes again. I'll continue my struggle to install this phone and post if I have anymore questions. thanks.
And that did the trick! It must have been a licensing issue, because I took a copy of Yoko Kanno's "Inner Universe" that I snagged off an anime site, trimmed it to 30 secs and it played fine after I uploaded it, and allowed me to set it as a ringtone. I'll have to try this with an .mp3 I've bought from Musicmatch and see if it works for that. The fight song I was trying to use was a freebie off the school's site, and it may have had different licensing attached. Thanks for all the help and advice from everybody. This forum is just a great place to find tips and tricks for these phones!
Crap'n CRAP, Last night (in the middle of transfering music to my phone) My Verizon v3m stoped tranfering. I unpluged, pluged it back in, Phone said (on screen) Unrecognized charger. I reinstalled drivers, did updates, Put disc back in (because it found new hardware) Freak'n mess! It seems like everytime I plug my phone in it "Finds new hardware" and wants the disc in the CD drive. Anyway, NOTHING, NADA, CA-POOT, Anyway it keeps wanting me to update, (updates fail everytime) And then when I open phone tools, It wants to install (new found hardware)............. thing. Why...........won't this thing work???? Thanks -Geoff
Anyway, forgot to mention. Phone tools won't open with the razr showing, (shows a silver motorola phone) Tools don't function now, updates still won't install. Not too sure what to do. Thanks, -Geoff:loony:
Geoff and Cincy thankss for the help. I have encountered a new problem after i have uninstalled and reinstalled mpt. I cant access the my phone tab through mpt now, It also shows up in the device manager as modem. My phone says there are no firmware updates available at this time. Cincy, i found were you helped some other guy and told him to update and look and see if the device manager changed to a motorola device. i ve had no suck luck
"Motorola CE, Copyright 2000" - V3m-Sprint (24.2_00.37.00R) International Identification (IMEI): ESNXXXXXXXXXXX Own Phone Number: "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" Motorola Phone Tools - 4.3.6c 10-23-2006 (061013008293) Here is my phone info and MPT info. For some reason the virtual mpt phone shows my phone as a v3 not a v3m
For Sprint users with the latest software you might still ned to download the MSU fron the motorola intl site to get the 4 additioanl drivers. Once this happens your phone will show up as a Motorola device.
Dreamy, I put in a request to have your phone info removed. Its not a huge deal, but I wouldnt want the wrong people to have access to it. Here is a link to download MSU -> http://www.hacktherazr.com/downloads.html Yea, once u run that, you should be good to go. Let me know how it goes.
How do I check the version of my software? I either missed a post, or nobody has any info for me. I would love to get my phone tools working again. Thanks, -Geoff
Ok, got MY razr V3m to work with multimedia studio, now how do i go about installing the other 3 of them to do the same?:loony:
This might be slighlty off b/c I forget how the Verizon UI is configured. Go into Settings & Tools -> System -> Device Info, and look for S/W Version. It will be located near PRL Version, etc. This wont make your MPT work/not work, that is strictly for the Sprint V3M.
Yes, but when I try to run MSU, it can't find the drivers! and, P2K won't connect to it. and, when trying to use p2k on my successful phone, it freezes up
Ok, all 3 silver Razrs are edited, but the pink one - When I run msu, it can't find the drivers to install. Anybody know why?
