Re: Krzr For T-Mobile my faves I can imagine that it'll probably be out by christmas if they're gonna have it soon, if not I would say probably february.
Re: Krzr For T-Mobile my faves slyfox, welcome to WA. In the meantime you can get an unlocked version to use with T-Mobile like i am.
I would but... I need a My Faves Phone! And of course T-Mobile can't tell you if or when they'll have it. O well. matt
I haven't seen or heard any inside info about the KRZR coming to TM, but I'll post it if I hear about it.
Is it true that the phone itself doesn't have to be a "My Faves" phone, and that you could use an unlocked phone like the Krzr K1 and just change your Faves online? matt L
There's some debate about this, someone's arguing that they wont let you do it because of some obscure protocol the myFaves app is using to talk, there's another thread about this. Personally I think it's bs and I agree with you, but for sake of completeness I felt the need to point it out.
Does T-Mobile only allow certain phones to qualify for MyFaves to encourage members to upgrade to Quad-Band devices?
Officially, you can only get a myFaves plan if you have or purchase a phone with myFaves software. There are a couple of stories of people getting around that requirement.
Well the KRZR K1 will be carried on March 26 on T-mobile. http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2007/01/20/t-mobile-nba-sidekick-razr-sidekick says it.
I have a unlocked Krzr with a TMobile account. The phone however roams to the Cingular network. It will not connect to TMobile's network. Tech support at TMobile says that there is no roaming charge. Anyone have the same problem? Under Settings/Network/Available Network, only Cingular pops up. Is it bacause Tmobile does not sell this phone? Thanks.
Do you live in California or Nevada? If so, that's fine. T-Mobile purchases the former PacBell/Cingular network in 2005 when Cingular bought AT&T Wireless. T-Mobile is broadcasting using Cingular's numeric ID for a while - primarily until Cingular is done transitioning their customers to their new network in CA/NV (the original AT&T Wireless netwrork).
Your phone is not really roaming. It's something in the Moto software that makes it look like you are. I've had two European phones (Black RAZR & V635) that both did the same thing. You are really on T-Mobile's network, but the carrier tag is probably showing "Cingular" (again a software issue, but not to worry). Your phone is fine. You could "hack" the phone to fix the issue, but unless you're a phone techie, I wouldn't recommend messing with it.
Hey Matt: Funny thing is that when I called TMobile Support, they had me punch in a code and read back the numbers showing on the phone. From that the tech said I was on Cingular's network. When I check the available networks on the phone, Cingular pops up twice. One with a code 310-170 and the other 310-380. Thanks.
those are both Cingular codes...............but like Matt said......T-Mobile owns the Cingular network in CA/NV anbd they are still broadcasting the Cingular ID number..........it hasnt been changed to the T-Mobile yet.........technically your on Cingular but T-Mobile owns that part of Cingular's network
